This is a gem of a boutique hotel! Perfect location, quiet and close to everything, staff is great, the hotel itself is amazingly cute and like an urban oasis, and the rooms are comfortable and quiet. Just go there, you won't regret it!

Lovely traditional hotel fully modernized and minutes from the main beach

It’s like a boutique hotel - lovely and intimate. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful boutique hotel with a very friendly staff. Everything is well thought-out (parking, etc). Super close to the beach and shopping streets.

The staff was wonderful. Friendly and attentive. We could hear the ocean waves from the window but it was quiet in the evening so not bothered by late night noise from Main Street. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay.

A really nice hotel, close to everything, but quiet at night, will definitely return if we are in saint jean de luz

Heading south from Brittany to southern Spain decided to stay in St Jean de Luz and chose La Marisa hotel, both choices were excellent, lovely seaside town and a lovely family run hotel with excellent hosts.

We arrived around 7:00 PM and the hotel was closed. The taxi driver help us to get in. We never received any indication on what to do. That was really dissapointing!

Lovely courtyard and public spaces. Comfy beds. Clean.

Really cute and super close to the beach. Our shower was tiny tiny, but everything else was excellent.

Old hotel with poor minimal services and overpriced as near the beach. Room was tiny and everything is old dark and dusty from stairways to furniture.
Bed was uncomfortable as old mattress of poor quality.
Very dark room at night as lighting was inadequate.
No air conditioning was big inconvenience as no air circulation when sun was hot in the afternoon and room heated up.
Staff was courteous but unavailable at night reception.
Safety is compromised as our cell phone was stolen from our room desk when we went out.

A lovely hotel with a warm, welcoming staff. Special thanks to Frederic for excellent recommendations for activities and restaurants. The location is steps from the Grand Plage and a short stroll to the Centre Ville.

This was the first trip to Saint-Jean-du-Luz for my husband and me, but we hope not our last. We loved staying at Hotel La Marisa. The hotel manager was excellent. He was there to greet us when we arrived, answer our questions, and inquire about our adventures during our stay. When we had a problem getting a cab to go to the train station on the last day, he went "above and beyond" to help us. (It would have been an easy walk if we had traveled with less luggage!) All staff members we encountered at La Marissa were pleasant, helpful, and doing their jobs well.
The exterior of the hotel is classic basque-style; the interior is modern and up-to-date, with interesting decorative objects including some antiques. Our bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated in a high quality manner following principles of universal design (i.e., just about anyone, with or without mobility problems, could use it). The location of this hotel is ideal. It is a very short walk to a central location on the beach, which is on a beautiful bay in the Atlantic Ocean. We could walk everywhere in charming Saint-Jean-du-Luz and we did.
My husband and I were so pleased that we found La Marissa and that a room was available for us!

Located close to the shops and restaurants and only 30 seconds from the beach, La Marisa is perfectly situated to make the most of this lovely Basque town. We chose a courtyard-facing room which ensured it was quiet, although the road outside is hardly a busy one as it is one-way. The staff were very helpful and welcoming and our 'Comfort' standard room was spacious enough.

This hotel sits in a quiet street, but is very close to the centre of St.Jean de Luz, with all the attractions in walking distance. It was exactly the right place to spend some days after doing a Pyrenean walk.

Stayed for two nights for the second time in three years. Hotel has maintained the quality and the staff is as helpful, if not more, than our first stay. The room was very comfortable and well appointed. The bathroom was great but for the soap/shampoo dispenser that is very hard to operate. Breakfast was very good, only wish we had been able to sit outside, but alas, the weather did not cooperate.

The location was very convenient for the beaches, town and restaurants. The hotel was compact but very well presented and maintained. The classic rooms are a little small but clean. Mehdi the manager was outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast in the courtyard was a lovely way to start the day.

Wish we could have stayed longer in St Jean de Luz. Lovely, active town with lots of scenery, shops and good restaurants. Hotel is at a Perfect location for all the action.
