bathroom very dirty : lots of bodyhair in the bathtub and on the tiles. Under the sink it was dusty and cleary noone cleaned the heaters for weeks. Did not feel good to take a shower as it was clearly just rinced and not clean.

The only negative was the lack of parking space. Had to park two streets away from the hotel.

Third party booking says check in is 3:00, the hotel says that it is 4:00. Many of us guests waited around from 3 to 4 when magically all rooms were ready for check in. Hotel is okay, expected a bit more for the price though.

I really liked my stay at your hotel. It must be at one of the best locations in Baie Comeau. There is a nice restaurant in the hotel, but there is also a more available at walking distance.

Excellent place to rest our weary heads after a long drive. We are terrible with speaking French but everyone was accommodating. Food was great. It was a quick overnighter but a pleasant surprise.

A great old hotel that has been upgraded in all the things that matter. I booked on Hotels.com which claimed the hotel had laundry facilities. It did not. It was a big inconvenience for us and had we been given the correct information we would have gone elsewhere. That said, I believe the issue was with Hotels.com and not the hotel.
The dining room was closed for a private function however, we had an outstanding meal at the bar. Glad we stayed and also, the adjacent walking trails are excellent.

The front desk attendant would not honor a lower price. No handicapped or parking available anywhere nearby due to an event the hotel had going on. They could care less about the paying overnight guests. I was told "too bad, you can move your car closer after the event ends at 10pm" I personally would have liked to be sleeping then. Loud partying outside our room

We’ve stayed here several times and can see the improvements being made each time we come back. Was disappointed this time, however, to learn on arrival that food service was unavailable due to private events being held. Not just room service, but everything. Had to order pizza, and my spouse and I had been looking forward to a nice dinner.

This place used to be better. I stayed here about 8 years ago and I remember it being a fancier place with a gourmet restaurant and good customer service. If feels like management have taken it down market. Cleanliness was an issue for me, especially the coffee machine in the room, I doubt it was ever cleaned. Probably still one of the better options in Baie Comeau but definitely no longer a special occasion. It now feels more like an upscale motel.

This is a tough review to write. Our reasons for staying here were purely nostalgic having stayed here SO many times over the span of some 30 years (mostly on business trips to the area)
We were disappointed.
The property is tired and in need of serious updating unless vintage is your thing. The lobby/ front desk is unappealing though the staff were kind.
We had the misfortune of checking in as 400 attendees descended on the hotel for an evening event. It was pure chaos for parking, a congested reception area not to mention that the only evening dining option Bistro la Marée is literally 2 steps from the front desk.
The room itself was fine and spacious. Flooring was newish and the bed, pillows and linens very comfortable. The bathroom is serviceable but completely outdated and not on par with hotels in this price range.
We ate dinner at the Bistro La Marée which was excellent (see google review).
There is a lovely well-appointed terrace which is only accessible (unfortunately) when the Bisto is open.
The exercise "room" is a curtained off section of the old dining/ ballroom which was just weird to access.
A section of the former dining room located on the lower level is now used for breakfast only (due to staffing shortages). It is unimpressive, set up like a school cafeteria, not at all elegant.
Unfortunately, accommodations in this area are limited so you're kind of stuck with this expensive lackluster option.

The property has great character and charm. It has been beautifully maintained, is clean and the food is good. The staff is very helpful and the area provides awesome walking trails, outdoor gym, only a a few minutes walk from a great cafe and downtown area.

It is a great old-fashioned hotel, reminiscent of 1950 movies. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The view is spectacular. Having an onsite dining room where we enjoyed an excellent meal was lovely.
