The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are well appointed. We got a complimentary upgrade to a suite which was nice. The staff was very efficient with requests and were polite. Admittedly, the neighborhood leaves much to be desired but it is close to the subway and there are a lot of recognized food options very near by. Even though the area was full of a cast os characters, we never felt unsafe and didn't have any issues with the locals. I would stay there again.

Hidden gem in the southern Bronx. What a great hotel in New York City. Friendly staff, beautiful, historic building, larger than normal rooms for NYC, quiet and clean. A wish the neighborhood was a little better, but properties like this can lead to a change. The neighborhood isn't terrible, but you need to be careful when heading out after dark.

The property is lovely, and well designed. Rooms are spacious with high ceilings and marble bathroom counters. My room was extremely comfortable. I have had neck fusion surgery, and needed firmer pillows. 2 perfect pillows arrived within 10 minutes. Breakfasts are not what im used to... which isnt a bad thing. I generally have a protein shake in the morning. At the Opera House they offer a wide selection of pastries, excellent coffee, several juice selections and eggs. All very tasty. I can only say that ive already booked my next stay!

Great interior! Love the history and the classic charm! High ceilings were great and room was so spacious! The bathroom was great especially the shower/shower tiles! Exterior with streets were typical New York but would be nice if more care for the streets could be done! Also, more parking spaces would be more convenient! Overall, would recommend to anyone and will probably come back and stay again!

I like the employees professionalism, the lounge for the breakfast buffet, the breakfast. I don’t like the conditions of the surrounding area (in Bronx), which is not the fault of the hotel. Other than that, I was pleased with my stay.

I enjoyed my stay at Opera House Hotel. There are several stores, restaurants and a subway stop nearby. I walked from the hotel to a New York Yankees game. That walk takes about half an hour. Opera House Hotel has breakfast service each morning. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Bronx!

This hotel was really awesome on the inside, great service, the breakfast was adequate with toast, boiled eggs and small snacks, no hot foods. The room was huge! Too big for two people but it was great. The hotel had great AC and history and decor was pretty. The only down side is the location, it felt a bit unsafe at night but it is South Bronx. Nothing bad happened but just the heebie jeebies.

Description on Expedia does not match reality. There is a complimentary continental breakfast that has a good variety of options, but no cafe or coffee shop onsite. Hotel is clean, but street outside was not. And I heard a lot of street noise from my room. Close to Yankee Stadium and about 15 minutes from La Guardia.

It is very nice with an interesting history, nice, helpful staff, spacious updated rooms, attractive decor, excellent breakfast. Top feature is enclosed parking so we felt safe. The surrou ding area is culturally colorful and interesting. We felt ok to walk to a nearby restaurant. It was an ethnic restaurant but the food was not different. The location was convenient to La Guardia. I wnjoyed our stay and would ome again and recommend.

Lovely hotel! Clean, great staff, good breakfast (complimentary). Nice little fitness center also. One treadmill does need to be replaced though since it feels like you’re walking/running on a trail. We were grateful to have parking in a locked lot which has limited space. Beds were very comfortable and it was nice to have a fridge & microwave. Only downside of the whole experience was the area - didn’t feel very safe & lots of trash everywhere. On the upside, the subway was only a couple blocks away and it was convenient to take to Manhattan. We plan to come to the hotel again next time we are in NYC.
