Excellent service, great location and very smart bar/restaurant area. Room was quiet but lights difficult to turn on (dodgy switches) and ac/heating didn't work despite prompt attention from the staff. Overall, great short stay, just need to take care which room!

Lovely warm cosy room on a freezing night. Dinner was a bit chaotic. There were two very very noisy large tables of men, one of which had apparently been the since lunch. They were shouting non stop. The staff moved our (well behaved) table of seven to a quieter spot as nobody could hear themselves speak. The staff were very helpful and I felt a bit sorry for them having to deal with such uncivilised behaviour. Unfortunately the kitchen also had its problems as we had to wait well over an hour for our orders of one main each. It was well cooked and presented but most of us had lost interest by 9pm when it arrived. So, nice hotel, warm cosy room, pleasant staff and fellow guests from hell.

The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. and gave us a warm welcome. The et seemed a little short staffed, and U gad ti ask for my coffee ti be changed ad it was lukewarm due ti a faulty machine. The waiter was very obliging and they then made it by hand which was far better than by machine,
The bedroom was clean and comfortable. My only criticism, and thus has happened before, is that the seals un the shower room need to be either cleaned or changed in a regular basis as they are mouldy and therefore not very hygienic. Pkease see picture.
The other criticism is no shower cap or body lotion are included in the price if the room which was £220.00 for one nights stay

Absolutely amazing hotel, really nice room. Reception wasn't the most friendly and wasn't very helpful about parking. Otherwise would highly recommend. Service at Breakfast was first class and food was great.

Room and breakfast fantastic but case lift not working. Unable to access outdoor space behind hotel - all closed off.

The hotel was great with lovely helpful and welcoming staff. Rooms were good. The location is ideal for visiting the town. We were disappointed that, although we booked half board, everything on the menu had either a supplement or additional charge for fries or other usual accompaniments. The menu was limited. We had shnitzel but had to pay £4.95 per portion for fries to accompany it as it only came with leaves etc. In addition to that, there was a service charge of £8.00. Therefore, a charge of £17 extra although we had already paid for half board. I can’t see anywhere on the booking where this was explained. This trip was a gift for our anniversary but the charges left a sour taste. However, I would stay here again but not use the bistro for our evening meal as there are cheaper and better places in town. Breakfast was fine.

Good food and service. Great hotel chain we stay in them all over the UK. Paid for dinner bed breakfast but menu choice very limited and Suppliment cost for food we thought too expensive. Enjoyable stay. Would recommend

Convenient location In Montpelier. We had a super king deluxe and the room was lovely, spacious and comfortable. Only minor point is that it is a little dark and the full length mirror should be on a wall with a plug so anyone using hairdryer or straighteners don’t have to stretch lead across the doorway.
The staff at reception, bar and restaurant were all really friendly, efficient and helpful. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and everything we had was good
I would definitely stay again

Well located but expensive. The “deluxe” room was not. Did not like having a bath in the same area as the bed - it should be in the bathroom - personally I would have preferred a sofa to relax on.

Beautiful hotel with an amazing team and service!
The gentleman on reception was so helpful, he spent lots of times going through places to see and things to do in Cheltenham. A great first impression of the hotel!

The hotel overall was very good, and staff were generally very helpful. Although scope for little improvements.
We took a late breakfast for practical reasons and whilst we were down for around 9:30, approaching 10, things were being cleared away and coffee saucers for eg not replenished.
The room was spotless and as per photos. Bathroom was exceptional. But the garden and seating area didn’t look at all cared for and the tables were not cleaned for the duration of our visit.

My wife and I stayed two nights in the De Trafford suite celebrating our wedding anniversary. Ben in reception was very warm and helpful, gave us a complimentary drink, a map and explained the local area. The room was exceptional, very clean and airy with a huge and very comfortable bed. The air conditioning was much appreciated as the weather was very hot. The cooked breakfast was excellent although the continental range was somewhat limited, but this was fine as what was available was very good quality. George in the restaurant was incredibly polite and efficient and always had a sunny smile for the guests. The hotel is in a very quiet and attractive area while still only being a 10 minute walk from town.

The decor in this hotel is traditional and very tasteful. The room was a good size. The odd things is that there is a bathtub in the bedroom, in front of the window. Why I don't know as there is a very good sized shower area in the bathroom. There was an expresso machine, and a kettle for tea/coffee, and biscuits and chocolate. Very nice. I only wish the lighting was better, in the bathroom and by a mirror (for applying makeup). Also I wish there had been a sheet --the duvet is nice but in summer it was too much, but there was no light coverlet or sheet. There were many electrical outlets which was much appreciated.

We received excellent service from the staff and enjoyed a lovely stay in a beautiful suite. We would definitely come back to stay at this hotel again next time we visit the area.

Consistently good

Breakfast was expensive and poor quality. I had a very dull and juat about warmed up eggs benedict. The coffee machine was broken and delays being served (only one staff member in duty)... expensive overall and seems poorly managed. The rooms are not numbered but rather given pretentious names, making finding your room onerous. That should change.

Have stayed in many of these hotels and never been disappointed. Very comfy and very nice surroundings

We had no problems with the check-in or bedroom.
Breakfast was disappointing

I like the style of this hotel and those in the chain. It's modern and roomy. The very best thing by far is the staff. Very efficient and charming, so that any arrangements/requests are carried out perfectly. I would warn guests to book dinners in advance, do not assume availability.

Warm welcome from reception on arrival. We parked in the rear car park for £10 extra.
The hotel is huge with a warren of corridors. We were a party of 3, myself & my husband and we were travelling with our grown-up son. I had booked two ‘classic’ rooms therefore it was slightly odd to get our rooms only to discover that my son had been allocated the room with the super king bed and we got given a room with a standard double bed! Luckily we swapped. Just something to be aware of!
Rooms had recently been decorated to high standard. The beds were super comfy and whilst the bathroom was rather small it ticked all the boxes for what we needed for a one night stay. We had booked an inclusive breakfast rate which offered good value for money. Good continental selection, help yourself, and then a menu was offered with one hot dish per person. The hot breakfast was very nice too.
Overall a great stay at a great price.

Such lovely staff and great food. The winter stay package is excellent value.

Stayed overnight for a birthday party elsewhere in Cheltenham in a lower category room. It was smallish but nicely furnished with a huge comfy bed and cosy duvet. Very comfortable with effective heating (unlike the George nearby where we stayed same time last year and froze in our room). The cooked breakfast was good. After we left my partner discovered he didn’t have his phone and just as I began ringing everywhere we’d been to see if it had been found, I received a call from reception to say the maid had just run downstairs with it in the Hope of catching us before we left. We were able to go back and pick it up. Phew… great service. Thank you Hotel du Vin staff!!!

A very comfortable stay. The staff friendly and helpful. We stay here every time we are in Cheltenham because we know we are going to enjoy the stay and the food.

Excellent location in Cheltenham close to shops, cafes, restaurants. We had a good stay. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was very comfortable. Large warm room, good WiFi, TV (some issues with reception probably due to weather conditions). Nespresso machine and pods, kettle and coffee and tea bags etc. Good breakfast although my partner was disappointed no kippers were available, my boiled eggs were very good.
2.5
Excellent service & the rooms was very good value.

Loved my room and great location.
