I can honestly say, if it wasn't for the old guy (abuelo) threatening to shoot me--because I had woke him up from sleeping. ..I'd give it a better rating. There's something about checking out early, so you can make a flight on time--then have a delusional old man pull a gun on you!
He told me I didn't pay for my last day. This was really stupid

The property was amazing. Only downside is that the bathrooms need to be renovated! Convenient location, food options, free breakfast, beach, shopping and amazing staff.

I’ve been coming to this hotel years now after staying in some all inclusives in the surrounding area. I much prefer here were you get a better more authentic view into the Dominican lifestyle than being cooped up in an all inclusive. The rooms are pretty basic but you don’t go on holiday to stay in your room, they’re cleaned everyday to a high standard of some of the most amazing women I’ve met. The reception and management staff have always a pleasure to deal with from start to finish and will resolve any issues you have quickly and efficiently no problem. The hotel itself is surrounded by a treasure trove of restaurants and stores where you can get some of the best cuisines and dine on the seafront as Bavaro beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world is directly across the road from the hotel.
Adjoining the hotel is its own restaurant where you can get a very good breakfast included with your stay free and then purchase meals and drinks throughout the day too, they also provide pool service if you ask.
The pool is the die for too and if your lucky you’ll get to take full of advantage of it to yourself often and the grounds boys are all amazing too.
I reallly recommend it here,I’ll be back again too!

"I was disappointed with my experience at this hotel. Upon arrival, the receptionist seemed unfriendly and unhelpful. Despite the hotel being empty, I was told there were no rooms available.
During my stay, I had an accident near the pool and injured my foot on a glass piece which went right in my flip flops. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't have basic first aid supplies or apologize for the incident.
The room lacked essential amenities like toiletries, and the pillows were uncomfortable, moodily, dirty and had a mildew smell. The bed sheets appeared unclean, and the air conditioning wasn't working.
I had a difficult time sleeping due to the unpleasant odor and began feeling unwell. Although the staff changed my room, the air conditioning still didn't work.
I contacted Expedia about my issues, but they were unable to assist. Unfortunately, the hotel owner refused to refund my payment for the remaining nights and breakfast.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel to others."
This hotel will ruin your holiday. stay away.

I enjoyed my 3 nights at this property. The pool view was absolutely amazing even though there is not an ocean view. I paid extra for breakfast and it was wonderful. Unfortunately, there were a few things that I did not like, such as the WiFi only working in the lobby. The balcony sliding door not being able to close or lock. They did not provide wash cloths. Other than that, it is an awesome hotel.

Omg I don’t have enough characters to give a detailed review as it cutt me of at 1500 and I still had plenty to say. I will try to sum it up. The food is TERRIBLE! The grounds are below average. AM staff are nice. PM staff are not that great. Rooms are dirty with mosquitoes. Dusty, and smells clean surprisingly. Wi-Fi doesn’t reach all rooms . Our tv had no reception. The other guest played music loudly until about 2am but it was fri, sat night. They came to clean the room daily by clean I mean make beds, take trash, replace toilet paper. They didn’t mop or wipe anything down. They didn’t have a do not disturb sign. I didn’t like the room but for the price I didn’t mind all the downsides. I asked to change rooms but I was told there weren’t any that could accommodate me and my children. If you don’t speak Spanish you will be a little irritated with communication inside and outside resort. There was some staff in the morning that spoke English but at night it’s a different story. 3 minutes from beach! Overall I love the location and the room served it’s purpose I only wanted somewhere to sleep, for the cheap price I paid I didn’t expect Buckingham Palace. The area seems a little unsafe but we had no issues , we were only there 3 days tho. I would probably go here again but I would for sure take what ever cleaning supplies I could bring. I hope that I’m able to post my video and pictures i took.

Property is older but nice quiet and relaxing stay. Had no cold water at the bathroom sink but only used hot anyway. Some cleanlines issues but management addressed them on the first day of our 9 day visit. Loved the fact it was right in the middle of great beach and restaurant options. Restaurant was excellent very good value for the money

It is good for the price rate. The room was spacious, it had a nice pool, I was able to check in as soon as I arrived from the airport, although it was early, the breakfast was included and it was very good, it is walking distance to a very nice beach, restaurants, shops and travel tour agencies and it was easy to access transportation around the area. It is not for anyone too picky but if you are a backpacker or enjoy traveling in a budget, it is a good option. I would stay there again.

This is an older property so there can be aging issues but we were quite pleased overall. Rooms are spacious and clean with lovely balconies. The grounds and pool are kept up nicely, and the beach is just across the street. The staff are friendly and usually helpful. Breakfasts are included and are pretty good. We have stayed there twice now and would return. It would be nice if they provided face cloths and 2 towels per person. Jam or butter for toast would be better than dry toast.

I loved my stay at Cortecito Inn. I will definitely be back and recommending guests to come here.
Pros: the pool and bar is great (gracias Chris) , the property is well maintained and the proximity to the beach is amazing. It is literally right across the street which was a deciding factor in staying at Cortecito. Breakfast at the restaurant next door is fresh and filling for what is offered. The options are limited but delicious and service was attentive (gracias Daniel!) My room was spacious, bed and pillows were comfortable and it had a balcony, tv and a great AC. Also, checkout is on the later side which is wonderful and I was able to stay at the pool after handing in my room keys while waiting for my transportation to pick me up (gracias Javier!). Some good restaurants, convenience stores and a money exchange place are right across the street from Cortecito and as a solo traveler I felt safe in the area
Cons: The bathroom in my room needed some attention but nothing that would deter me from coming back. However, the fridge was so loud when connected, it could be heard from outside the room. I had no option but to shut it down because I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep with that noise. I brought it up to the attention of reception 3x and it fell on deaf ears. I was given the pretense that I would get my room changed and that never happened. Due to this I wasn’t able to bring food to the room nor keep my drinks cold.
Overall I had a great stay, thank you so much!

This is our third year staying here. It covers all that we need and want and at a very good price. All of the staff do an excellent job at their work. The breakfast is very good and enjoy talking with other guests over it. The beach is right across the street. Everything is very walkable and convenient.

Horrible rooms dirty moldy showers you should never stay here.

Great price and location. Great staff and property. Nice breakfast included. Large room with chairs, tables, fridge, balcony.
Buildings need updating... cracks in doors and windows. No sink plugs or face cloths. Only 1 towel per person. Nice pool. Overall really liked it and have rebooked for 2 weeks. Thanks!

I was amazed by how beautiful the outdoor area was and really enjoyed the outdoor shower by the pool every morning. I loved staying in Cortecito, rooms were clean and comfortable altho the air conditioning was leaking a lot of water which the staff immediately offered me another room and I enjoyed the rest of my stay. Breakfast was also decent. The bathroom and the shower was a bit small for me (I’m 6’4) and can use renovations.

For the price we paid was extremely happy with our stay. This hotel was a beautiful place in it's day, but it is older and neglected. That being said, it was a perfect spot for a quiet weekend getaway. The staff were helpful and the rooms were clean. Our air conditioner stopped working the first night but it never got hot in our room, the cement walls held the temperature. They switched our room the next day and gave us a nice upgrade to a room with a small kitchen. (room 4013) I would request this room again. The pool was lovely with lots of seating and shallow areas to sit and enjoy the water and sun. It was very quiet and we had the pool pretty much to ourselves the whole weekend. No fighting to get your chair in the morning :) The beach is right across the road from the hotel, through a line of stores and restaurants. There are quite a few restaurants close to be able to eat and also just hang out at while enjoying the beach. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel where breakfast is served. This included, fruit, eggs, toast, sausage, potatoes. Coffee, tea, juice. It's not great, but it's included..... Onno's across the street was our fav beach spot.

Staff was very nice, polite and helpful. Nice pool, beautiful grounds and spacious rooms and balconies.

Staying here was a pleasure I don’t speak Spanish at all Wanda made my experience amazing by helping me book my tours and get transportation etc.Breakfast was good the hotel is walking distance from the beautiful beach definitely gonna book in the near future thank you.

This hotel is very old and tired. The bathrooms were full of black mould and very dirty. We had to ask for towels and toilet paper every day. The staff were nice but that helped little. The area around the hotel is very limited and everyone is hassling you all the time. It was not safe to walk around as a woman after dark.
I would not recommend this hotel or the place Cortecito at all. Put some more money in to a hotel and stay safe.
Btw the picture of the hotel is a lie. The pool is very dirty also. We stayed for 11 days and it was never cleaned once…
3.3
This property has a lot of character and charm. It has a real Caribbean feel. Totally unlike the muted, westernized hotels you may have in mind. We loved this hotel and would go back again. But, with character comes age. The hotel is far from perfect. A few examples; the light in our bathroom didnt work, our toilet was finicky, there was a leak from the bathroom sink which staff fixed, the wiring for the tv was hanging from the wall, it’s obviously been a used space. But, it’s clean, the gardens are cared for and the staff were kind, helpful and did not take anything from the room, including the money I left out for the cleaners. I had to hand it directly to them. The pool is nice as well. I also recommend that you add the free breakfast package. Breakfast is served at the restaurant each morning and is made to order. So fresh, hot eggs or omelettes for each guest. Which means it takes a little time but is worth it. They also have toast, sausages and good brewed coffee. Overall we really enjoyed our stay but just remember you’re booking an older hotel not a resort. If you like all inclusive five star resorts this won’t meet your expectations. If you like a more local experience and don’t mind rough edges you will love it here.

Sadly the photos do not honor the facilities, they are extremely neglected, old, broken, moldy, the bathrooms, the rooms are very old and neglected, surroundings such as the pool could not be used and were dirty all the time.
The surrounding were scary with people selling drugs and offering personal services, nothing safe, it was very scary to go out at night.
The only thing that was acceptable was the personal treatment of Javier from frontdesk who tried to apologize for all the inconveniences.
They changed my rooms on three occasions, the last time, the TV never had volume, you couldn't hear it.
The second time, the pole of the bathroom curtain fell silent and hit me on the head.
The first ones had leaks and air that were damaged and neglected
The stay was so terrible that I decided to move to another hotel at the second day.
Honestly, what I paid for my stay from December 15 to 20 is not worth it and they should refunded what was not used, since the hotel conditions forced me to move to another hotel and not be able to enjoy my scheduled stay.
I had to change my vacation plans, spend extra money and move ahead of time.
So sad about it.

We really enjoyed staying here! It was a great budget option in Punta Cana.
3.3
We had no tv the whole time we were there and we ask about it everyday and they said they would fix it but did nothing and also my husband fell and they had nothing to help with it (band-aids )or gauze ,tape)
3.3
We like the location. The breakfast is great. The gardens are well cared for, and the pool is nice. The beach is across the road through the shops.
3.3
The property is across the street from the beach, which was great. The hotel kind of sucked. No Wi-Fi unless you walked all the way to front desk to use in that area. The doors had spacing in them so mosquito’s were in room nightly. Had to buy spray. The shower curtains were torn and shower head sprayed everywhere. Tv didn’t work at all.

Oh my gosh!!!! Never ever ever stay here. This place should not be advertised!!!
Im not one for leaving bad reviews but my goodness. We made this reservation a month prior to check in date. ONE NIGHT ONLY! I informed the hotel we will be coming in after 11 pm. We had someone drive to the hotel to confirm the reservation.
When we go there, the paperwork was there but they had no room for us!!! He showed my husband a room and said that was all he had.
We were given a small fan since the air conditioning was not working. We could not open the windows because of mosquitoes. We still got eaten alive!
No warm water to shower. No shower head!!! Only a pipe.
The sliding door could barely open and close. I was stumped that a place like this would even be advertised. Honestly, we should get our money back!
3.3
This is not a good place to stay. Poor hotel condition and very limited food options around. Beach very deep so we walked every day 15 minutes to Corales Beach to spend the day around there.
3.3
The location was okay with the beach crossing the street and passing through a bar or store to get there. There are people drunk on the streets or homeless, they didnt bother us but juat be aware it is not the nicest area.
It has a pool but the first day they had a party and everyone was drank drinking inside the pool. The following days the stains of rum cola where still visibles all around, so i dont know about how sanitize is the water.
The receptionist was very unfriendly, he asked us for leaving an identification card for the lenght of our stay which we thought it is very unpractical cause you might need it for driving a car or just to make sure nobody has access that long to such personal information, including any visa in your passport. We witnessed the same situation next day with someone else. In any other hotel in the island we were asked to leave our personal identification, just to check it and returned to us immediately.
The room was old, shower and toilet comparable to a gas station.
The bed was confortable but the pillow be aware that is old and made of small piezes inside.
The day we left and our second day in the island, another receptionist was warching in a loop a video about an accident that just happened where people scream and two dead bodies are covered in blood. He turned the phone to us to watch and we had to tell him please to stop. It took many beers for us to forget that shock.
No coffee available in the area until 8-9am
