Liked the restaurant and speakeasy, character of hotel. Bed and bedding needs improvement
4.4
It was fabulous from the service, people, the food , ambience and live music on the patio. We had a fabulous time
4.4
Beautiful amazing property. Bed linens were like sleeping in a cloud. Food in both the speakeasy and the breakfast dining room was very good. I would definietly stay there again if I travel that way again. Absolutely perfect for a honeymoon or special event. the building in itself is a beautiful structures.

Good place to stay that doesn’t cost more than I wanted to spend. Since Covid, most everything and everyone wants to double their prices. I didn’t feel that way here. Recommend!
4.4
Great food at Speakeasy. Lovely property. Friendly staff.
4.4
Wonderful couples trip! Room was clean, staff was friendly, highly recommend!

The suites were large, but had no tea/ coffee maker, norvany bottled drinking water. Those choosing a high end property withbthe bestvavailable rooms need these facilities.

It was very nice, the pool looked so inciting.

Like being in another era.
4.4
Very clean, staff friendly, room large, very nice
4.4
Very beautiful from the outside. Unfortunately, the room we stayed in was very run down

Keep in mind it's a historic hotel and you'll enjoy your stay. Some of the exterior you can see where painting needs to be done. Cleaning needs to be done meaning cobwebs things like that. The bathrooms did not have an exhaust fan of which is probably because the age of the hotel of which they say was built in the 1930s. our room was small but functional. We did not do breakfast at the hotel, although the dining room looked very nice so I can't comment on the quality of food or the cost. It looks like they charged us for parking twice, although we were only there one night with one vehicle, albeit two rooms.

The Mimslyn Inn is a charming hotel with beautifully decorated rooms and sitting areas. I wish our room would have had a refrigerator but then it would not have been as historic. A sweet place to stay.
4.4
We arrived and got to our room. There was an odor in our room and hair in the shower. We attempted to eat at the Speakeasy and were seated but after waiting 15 minutes nobody came to take our order or even get us a water so we walked out. There was odor of marijuana in the hallway going to our room and our last night from 11-midnight I think every door in our section of the 2nd floor was slammed numerous times. Not a restful relaxed visit.
The Circa 31 was excellent and the young ladies seating and serving were so sweet and friendly. Always smiling!!
4.4
Overpriced, room had ants, shower nozzle had hard water pressure which hurt the skin. Restaurant server not kind. Disappointed.

Free Tesla charger on the property!!!!

Clean, but needs updating
4.4
Great spot for a trip to Luray Caverns. Front porch is wonderful.

VERY RELAXING PLACE TO STOP ON MY WAY TO NORFOLK. GRANDDAUGHTER LOVED THE POOL.

Historic property with good old-fashioned charm, real world people working in the property overall 8.5 out of 10

This property was wonderful! Staff was ver accomadating! I would definitely saty here again!
4.4
Stay away from The Speakeasy. Food is horrible. Worst Fish and Chips I ever had…straight from the freezer box to the plate.
4.4
We had booked a room with a queen bed. Upon checkin we asked for availability of a room with two full beds and the receptionist said they were all sold out. Online sites showed the availability of rooms with two full beds. Seems strange to mislead your customers about something like that especially if it’s an opportunity to gain extra revenue but perhaps the staff was inexperienced and needs training. Otherwise it’s a beautiful stately property.
4.4
Our only disappointment was the lack of food availability around the lunch hour. Lack of space in the bathroom for personal grooming needs.
The Inn is a beautiful historical attraction in this town.
4.4
The food was excellent and both the Speakeasy and Circa 31 restaurants. The staff there very accommodating. Beds were very comfortable

We enjoy staying at properties that reflect an America of times past. Our suite was spacious, and nicely furnished. The common areas, and dining areas were representative of the style of the hotel, and were well maintained. The food service was excellent, and reasonably priced. Two minor criticisms: one, we had a first floor suite facing the porch that poured light into the room. Blackout shades would have enhanced our sleep experience. The second; a small refrigerator would have made our stay more comfortable by allowing us to enjoy fruit and cold drinks.

The problem was with check in. We had paid for two rooms. They only had reservations for one. That was a real problem, and I will be seeking reimbursement from Hotels.com.
4.4
Bed was very uncomfortable. Air conditioner was not working properly. Rest was ok.
4.4
Great historic Inn! Very friendly personnel all over.
4.4
Unique historic building. Enjoyed the vintage indoors. And the room was very spacious. Downside - there isn’t much to do - the hot tub was non functional. Pool looks like needs cleaning and repair.
Dinner at Speak easy restaurant on site was good bit expensive . The shrimp ravioli my son ordered had just 5 pieces for $25 . Would expect larger potion with that price. But the food tasted great.
Overall a good stay close to Luray caverns for a quick overnight stop.

Very friendly and accommodating staff, and within easy walking distance of just about everything in town for us (28m, 27f; we're not particularly athletic). Our issues really boiled down to the following:
When we got to the room, there was a strange smell. We talked to the front desk about it. They said they were totally booked and couldn't put us in another room, but offered to send someone to address the issue. Room service arrived with air freshener, which did help considerably for a few hours after it was applied (we needed to use the air freshener a few times during the stay).
The bed was not comfortable at all for us. It was soft to the point of being saggy, and it was difficult to get a restful sleep.
While we felt these were issues, we still had a pleasant stay overall, just not the quality of stay we were expecting for the price point.

Friendly staff, beautiful classic hotel with an incredible view.while it has all the necessary amenities It is not modern, but that is not the point. Will definitley stay at the mimsly in the future.
4.4
The staff was totally inattentive. The front desk person was not friendly nor inviting. Our room was clean; however, was not as advertised. We were in the Blue Rodge suite and had a three foot pillar in the middle of the room, one sink not two; there was no soap nor shower gel. I called the front desk but it went to voicemail. I walked down and the attendant told me she forgot to leave the phones on. She then said they had no soap, and she went to an empty room to secure one bar.
We ate downstairs at the Speak Easy. The server was friendly but the food order (hamburger) was not right.
4.4
Appreciate the EV charger. Matresses were fantastic. Could not figure out how to get the channels to work on the Roku.
4.4
Spacious and clean room. The bed is confortable.

Let's start with check in. I was immediately greeted with a "historic preservation fee" that according to the clerk could only be paid via card, no cash accepted for this fee... I have stayed at numerous other hotels over the years, and a cash security deposit was always acceptable, so this is either a lie on the clerk's part, or just a terrible business practice by this hotel. Not everybody carries cards with them, and every other hotel I've used in the past understands this, except this place. Point is, there was no mention of a "historic preservation fee" which could've sank the entire stay and trip had it not been for my girlfriend having her card on her. This is a 200 mile drive for us, and these dodgy business practices are completely unacceptable when hotels know full well that people will be traveling long distances to stay at their facility. Onto the room... We were greeted with a moldy odor, because the bathroom had mold growing on the inoperative bathroom exhaust fan and other parts of the ceiling, mainly the corners, which appeared to have been freshly painted to mask what I'm certain was the previous crop of mold. Going into the living quarters, we found obviously unvacuumed carpets complete with embedded fuzzy messes and lifesaver candy wrappers. The curtains in the window had huge tears running from top to bottom in few places, not a huge deal, but for an alleged 3 star luxury hotel, this is not at all luxurious. The tv was just barely visible from
