Huge treat to spend time at a hotel I’ve driven pass for the last 55 years.

Amazing views from a very comfortable sea view room. Lovely big bed which was so comfortable.
The hotel is beautifully decorated with a gorgeous garden and position over the bay. The only disappointing aspect for me was the staff who, although very professional, were quite stand-offish!

This is a beautifully situated hotel with great views over the beach and coast. The service levels are exceptional and staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The communal rooms are well presented as are the adjoining gardens and play areas. This is an ideal hotel for both couples and families

The location of the hotel is amazing for sure... however it does need some refurbishment especially in the room we had....It needs Air Conditioning in the hot weather
The Bingo game was fun and a nice option - a quiz night might be good too.

I travel a lot with work and also to take part in endurance events and I stayed in this hotel to take part in North Devon marathon on Sunday.
I was impressed with everything about this hotel, the service from all staff was above and beyond what I was expecting, I used the Spa facility and loved the Jacuzzi overlooking the Sea and beach, the service at both Dinner and Breakfast were exceptional and the beach area nearby was lovely.

Arrived late to a great welcome by the gent on reception. That member of staff set the tone to a great experience. Good facilities, good food and nothing was to much trouble.

Great property & staff . They have good spa facilities with easy access for hotel guest. I just think the restaurant is overpriced for the quality of the food i saw

We had high expectations of this hotel because we have wanted to stay here for a long time, and it totally met our expectations and more. The staff created a happy friendly atmosphere and are an asset to the hotel, nothing was too much trouble and they were super attentive. The views from the hotel are stunning and the Art Deco beauty of the girl itself was maintained - decadence was the watchword.

A fantastic spa hotel overlooking the spectacular Saunton Sands. I really enjoyed my stay; I had several treatments and made the most of the thermal suite. My single bedded room was comfortable and I slept well. A few niggles- don’t say evening dining starts at 17.30 then not open the doors until nearly 6. Don’t state a dress code and child policy for dining after 6.30 then fail to enforce either - I had hoped it would be relatively child free in the evening but it was often very noisy from children running about. Personally I will look for an adult only spa next time. Other than those points I really liked it.

This is a spectacularly located hotel with wonderful amenities. The highlights were the views, the adjacent beach walks, the wonderful spa, the be#utifil lounges overlooking the ocean and unspoiled beach and the breakfasts.

AMazing location, on top of gorgeous beach but the hotel is tired looking, in particular the carpets and door ways, and elevator, all seem very old and worn out, also maid service very poor, and some staff very dismissive, when checking in desk clerk and porter do it explain any of the services or amenities, we were there for 3 days before we know we had an hour each day in the spa, my room which was on the front of the hotel and looked into the guest arrival driveway had no sheers, so had to keep the drapes closed all the time…..Seemed like a 3 star hotel not 5 star.

Great services but slightly dated rooms, and parking was tough as fully booked but otherwise it was very clean and safe.

Fantastic location and amazing views. The thermal spa is wonderful, and is included in the price. The communal areas of the hotel are decorated in an Art Deco style and appears quite opulent. Staff are extremely attentive and nothing seemed too much.
However, there could be improvements made to the room. It was perfectly adequate for my needs, but the bathroom was a little disappointing and is in need of an update. The shower is over the bath and for a highly priced hotel you would expect a modern, separate shower and bath. It also appeared very well used and outdated.
I would stay again.

Views and location were spectacular.
Fixtures and fittings in the room and bathroom were a bit tired and dated- but it was spotlessly clean.
Restaurant was excellent - food and service 5 star.

Fantastic location overlooking the beach. Grand and glamorous art deco style. Outside grounds including garden and swimming pool well maintainted. There was some construction work taking place so there was scafolding outside part of the hotel building. Spacious restaurant, lounge and terrace, plenty of options for places to relax with a light bite or beverage. The addition of the new spa was a bonus - great facilities. Buffet breakfast and food options all good. Great cocktail menu. The lobster thermidor in the main restaurant was delicious! Bathroom was clean and modern with power shower but not bath tub. Bedroom was quite small but bed was comfortable.

The location of this hotel is perfect and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The public areas are generally good. However I stayed in a single room which was so dated it took me back about 30 years in time. I was a little disappointed as I had been looking forward to staying here the view was of the inner roof area which was dismal - but fare enough I didn't pay for a sea view. If only they spent some money on it , I would gladly pay another £30 to £50 a night for a boutique feel!

Was in need of a renovation fifteen years ago; now its more than just tired. Lumpy (seemingly) straw filled mattresses, boiling hot rooms from which we couldn't open are windows as situated next to the kitchen extraction. Weird restaurants that were dead (on a Saturday night), full of screaming kids or just terrible menus (we chose to go out).
Mostly, had the feeling of being ripped off for, a £60 B&B would have been far better.
Only plus point was the comically phallic shaped pool.

The hotel was fairly ordinary but service was good and my stepson enjoyed his fish and chips hugely. The window in my bedroom wouldn’t open which meant the room was far too hot and made sleep difficult. I imagine that in the summer the hotel’s location comes into its own.

Beautiful view from the lounge and a fantastic walk just yards away on the huge beach

I wish we had had more than one night here. Lovely situation, building, room, pools and dinner. Breakfast (especially the coffee) could be a bit better.

I was attending a wedding nearby and decided to splurge on a stay at this hotel. Location is idyllic and views of beach are amazing. Helpful staff, good service - it was pricey but August in this part of the world commands the price tag. Understandably, lots of families in school holidays - if you seek peace and quiet - wait till summer season is over. Id go back when the crowds have gone - lovely spa and pools - and walks along the beach.

When I saw the private helipad outside, I knew this hotel would be different. The public areas inside were sumptuously decorated, with luxury carpets and impressive artworks. My room had nice furniture but was otherwise nothing special.Saunton Sands Hotel is out-of-town, but its right on the South West Coast Path, along which I am doing a multi-day walk.Unfortunately, I was not able to meet the restaurants dress code with what I was carrying in my backpack, so I was unable to have dinner at the restaurant. I have stayed in hotels that solve this problem by having an alcove or room where the hoi polloi can dine from the same menu whilst not sullying the ambience of the main dining hall. There was musical entertainment during the evening. It was at a reasonable volume, and it stopped by 11pm.Service was generally excellent but sometimes indifferent. At breakfast I was not offered coffee, so I asked a waiter for some. Twenty minutes later it had still not come, and I had finished the rest of my breakfast. I asked a different waiter for coffee, and this time it came within a minute. The breakfast was otherwise very good.

Very good hotel close to the beach. Excellent staff and service

Very good terrace and restaurant vet looking the beach and sand dunes . Does not need an outdoor and indoor pool. One larger pool with landscaping would've better. Restaurant food could've better and needs a wider choice.Staff are very friendly and helpful . Overall a gear 5 nights stay. Will come again.

Went for a wedding, the bride was a local so you can definitely say it was probably the best hotel in the area. The view is fantastic, only a short walk from the beach. A little pricey but for the size and look from the inside and the view out from the restaurant and bar area to the sea and the mountains on the far side it's worth it. Was a little underwhelmed by the quality of the cutlery and the bed which was a little uncomfortable, could do with an upgrade and skip the springs. Overall lovely experience thought!

The sea view is amazing. I was on a working weekend and chose a 20 minute drive, rather than a 5 minute drive to a Premier Inn, after a 14 hour day because I had stayed there years ago and rated it. Sadly, the room above the function room on a Saturday night is really intrusive - I could feel the music vibrating. As soon as I phoned reception they said, Room 409 - yes, its above the function room. I complained at 11.30pm and it became quiet at midnight. Too late for me with another 6.30am start. If they know its a problem, at least warn people beforehand. I would have chosen elsewhere but still thought highly of the hotel. Now Im fuming, wont stay there again, and still waiting 48 hours later for a manager to telephone and discuss. At least the Premier Inn guarantee a good nights sleep - and at half the price!
