Excellent value for money during expensive festival time in Edinburgh.
The location was a 15/20 minutes walk to the Royal Mile and access to lots of venues.
The no frills accomodation had everything needed for a comfortable stay.
Nice to have access to a well equipped kitchen.

Great location! good deal for the price
Bed was uncomfortable, all of the other destiny student accommodations I've stayed at were nicer
3.6
The location of the hotel was good and staffs’ approach to the guests were very friendly. However, cleanliness of the room was poor. There was spider webs on the walls, the shower wall and floor was dirty. Also, the mattress was uncomfortable.
3.6
The reception staff were very helpfull. The room was small but adequate for a couple of days stay. It was clean had small AC floor unit that was ok. There was also a fan. What would be helpfull would have been a few hangers for clothes. There was a large kitchen/ lounge area on this floor if you wanted to cook anything or chill out.
3.6
Affordable and good accommodation with excellent location. Room was somewat hot but managed to borrow a fan from reception. Nothing to complain.
3.6
It was great

Had a good stay here for the Fringe. Room is compact, but only needed a place to sleep really. Bed was a small double so was cosy for me and wife to share it lol. Room was quite warm with no real way of getting airflow to cool as window would only open a little and all fans were issued out
3.6
Superb staff customer support. Very accommodating and always there to help.
3.6
Reception staff were helpful on check-in and any other queries. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Chair at desk also comfortable and room and bathroom both clean. Was not too impressed with way duvet had been left in a bundle on bed. When sorting it out, noticed several attachments at bottom of cover were missing. Showers now are much better. Some more width on shelf above sink would have been useful to hold wash bag, towel and fresh change of underwear without some of these falling off.
3.6
Good value (for Edinburgh) stay in student accommodation near to the centre of the city. Basic but clean, no luxuries but you can ask for tea/coffee. shower gel etc at reception.
3.6
Very good overall but the cleaning needs to be more thorough
3.6
We had only one night here but we really enjoyed it. Will come back when visiting again

Perfect Location

The room was not cleanand bed wasn’t comfort, common kitchen was clean, hotels location very good, can walk city centre in15 minutes, arthur’s seat in 1 hour…
3.6
The service staff were very unfriendly.
3.6
Good student resident hotel. Good value for money. 15 minutes walk from the station, which is expected.
3.6
Great for cheap student housing. (Available for anyone- any age)

Good budget option for exploring the city. Clean room and ensuite. Bed wasn't the most comfortable in the world but for the price it was fine for 1 night. Room is quite hot even with the fan we were given. Free shower gel, tea coffee etc at reception and very friendly staff. It is what it says on the tin, a student halls! Having stayed in one as a student I knew what to expect so no complaints here for the price we paid. Ideally located for the Royal mile and Holyrood.

Stayed at Destiny Student Holyrood for a night. The accommodation is very basic. You even have to pick up a towel and toiletries from the reception. The room only had a double bed with a small built in study table. The toilet was extremely small. It has a shared kitchen and if you are okay to drink tea/coffee in mugs used by dont know how many individuals then you can use the kitchen. The hotel itself is also not super clean. After all, it is a student accommodation so I guess the management thinks that they dont really need to bother too much.
3.6
Excellent place. Clean. Spacious rooms. Friendly staff. We had a great time.
3.6
This was a 3 night stay to enable me to attend a conference at a nearby venue. The en-suite room in a shared flat was clean, quiet and comfortable - typical of student accommodation. Check-in and -out was efficient. Not luxury but good value for the price and a pleasant location. I would stay there again.
3.6
No issue with the facilities provided, I understand this is budget accommodation at an appropriate price. However the standards of cleanliness were poor, both in the room and in hallways. The place was full so they are making plenty of money here, they need to hoover it better and clean showers properly
3.6
The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were decent and clean. The bathroom sink didn't drain well and it would've been very useful to have a sanitary bin in the bathroom.
3.6
Great location. Room was basic. Decent however I did not sleep a wink due to the noise. There is no soundproofing. I decided to leave after staying the 1st night than stay another 2nd night.
Now I realise why they gave out earplugs with the toiletries.
3.6
Took 10 minutes to find room like a maze
3.6
Room had incredible views of Arthurs Seat, but also of the train line to Waverley, where trains constantly rattled passed all evening and stated again early in the morning. You could still hear them with the window shut, which was made more uncomfortable more because the room (4th floor) was so hot.
3.6
No bin in room or bathroom
3.6
Staff in reception are very nice and helpful, it would be great if the facilities list could offer rubbish bin inside the room or inform people to bring bin bag in advance to keep environment clean and environmental friendly.
3.6
The beds were too uncomfortable!

My partner and I spent three nights here for the festival, and it's a clean student accommodation.
The good thing is the reception is 24 hours, and the room is clean. Also, it's a walking distance to the most sightseeing spots in Edinburgh.
However, the twin bed is difficult for two adults even though I am small. The window is not easy to open, so it's a bit warm in summer. There is no soundproofing in the room, so that you can hear a lot of noise from people slamming the doors all night and in the morning. Finally, maybe we didn't notice any reminders to bring your own towels as they charge £3 per one. And they charge £10 for keeping a suitcase. Also, when we checked in, the late checkout with paying an additional fee was fine; however, while we applied the day before, they changed their policy again, saying they needed time to clean the room. The checkout time is 10 am, which is a little bit earlier.
It's more like a better hostel, allowing you to have your own space. But please do not expect it to be a proper hotel.

The most uncomfortable mattress ive ever slept on, the shower didnt work properly, the windows hardly open so its suffocatingly boiling and fans dont do anything. Some of the kitchen items were in disgusting condition. Really glad my student accommodation wasnt like this, but staff are lovely and easy to rent things like hairdryers and towels. Great location.
3.6
Bargain basement - good location, no parking, actually depressing if you were an actual student.. but if you have a small budget and its instead of sleeping rough then ok.
3.6
Friendly staff, unfortunate conditions. Unhygienic, smells of mildew, infested with silver fish and extremely hot and humid. Beds were uncomfortable and the bedding was stained. Would not recommend unless absolutely necessary.
3.6
Had to clean our own room bc it was filthy on day one, had to pay for everything including towels and hand soap and room was either freezing cold or way too hot. The bed also has hairs all over it and the towels (that we paid for) had chunks of other people’s hair in it. They also made us pay extra to store bags before check in - which just feels unnecessary since the room was expensive enough. Ended up leaving early because we couldn’t do it anymore. :/
3.6
Exactly what I'd expect from campus accommodation. Simple, straightforward, clean enough. Friendly, helpful staff, everything worked.
As they say, the rooms do get very warm, and there's not much ventilation, but I was exhausted every night, after a day on the Fringe, so I slept ok (in spite of the other occupants of my flat) being perpetual door-slammers.
I don't know if I was just unlucky, but the kitchen (flat 18) had no kettle - everybody was boiling water in a large saucepan, which was all there was. That strikes me as a bit unsafe for pouring into a mug to make tea or coffee.
3.6
Just ad expected. Budget, no frills and just to spend the night over safely without lots of expectations!
3.6
You get what you pay for. Compared to the other places during pride, this is really cheap, but it is one of the most no frills places I've ever stayed at. Definitely the RyanAir of budget accommodation. Want to drop off your bags pre check in, no problem. That'll be £5 per bag. Want a towel, £3 please. Want a bed that's bigger than a 3/4 standard double or a mattress that's thicker than a folded towel? Should've gone somewhere else.
3.6
Tiny rooms, dirty shower and floors. Disappointing
3.6
Bad hygiene conditions of the room, they clearly didn’t clean before our arrival. If you need towels you need to rent them. Rooms very humid.

We were very disappointed in this booking. My boyfriend and I stayed for 4 days during Edinburgh Fringe Festival and knew our options would be limited. We were expecting a bare bones small place to stay as it is student housing- not a hotel.
Our room was not clean (blood on the comforter, clogged shower drain with mildew all over the bathroom, bird poop on the wall by the window) and infested with silverfish. The hotel had no hand soap or disposable towels. (You could rent bath towels which were semi-clean). The hallways were not clean and the ceiling was open in one of the stairwells without proper coverage/cleaning for the crumbling sheet rock.
We were told through signage and service not to expect hotel quality service/facilities. However, we paid hotel prices ($150/night) and we’re nickeled and dimed for additional services, such as renting towels.
The bed was fine (outside of the lack of clean comforter), the room was a decent size, and there was communal space to hang out in. Everyone was friendly, but not super helpful. I could expect this quality of cleanliness/barebones from a cheap hostel but when we’re paying over $100 a night I expect to get a clean room and hand soap.
