The host Nikki is outstanding and very helpful. The room size is good and comfortable. Warm electric blanket. Nikki helped us with our Whale trip but unfortunately it got canceled at last minute due to bad weather. Will stay here again without hesitation

Absolutely lovely property in easy safe walking distance of Hermanus centre. Safe secure parking within locked boundary. The owner was really friendly and helpful, with lots of advice of things to do and places to eat and drink. Comfortable clean accommodation and with a nice little swimming pool, although we were too busy to use it! Absolutely first class breakfast. Would definitely recommend and use again.

We loved our stay here. Stephan and Nikki are perfect hosts. The guest house is clean and very comfortable. It is right on the cliff path and close enough to walk into town. The breakfast is also amazing,cooked by Stephan. Couldn't have stayed anywhere better.

Excellent property with very professional service and comforting security. Superior rooms with great features including tea/coffee-making, good Wi-Fi, USB sockets by the bed. Breakfast excellent. Host Stefan very knowledgeable and helped us plan our onward travel. Situated a very short distance from the sea if you fancy whale watching and close enough to the town to reach a great selection of restaurants. We would highly recommend the Penguino.

Would highly recommend the Penguino. The hosts, Stefan and his wife Nikki are wonderful and really go out of their way to make your stay easy and comfortable. They can help you with any local tours or places to eat out. The breakfast was outstanding and the room amazing. Would definitely book again!

We had a wonderful experience at Penguino Guest House. Stefan and Nikki were very welcoming and Stefan had lots of great local suggestions. The breakfast was fantastic. The guest house is just steps away from the Hermanus cliff path and great whale-watching. This is the place to stay in Hermanus!

A very comfortable 3 days last weekend. extremely welcoming hosts. The rooms are super clean. The "made to order " special that my daughter wanted is just an indication of the small touches that go a long way. Will definitively be back

The welcome from owners Ottie and Nikki was warm and full of offers to help and advise in any way. During our ten day stay, mainly to meet family nearby and deal with some issues following an untimely bereavement, our hosts were always kind and made us feel fully at home when we were at Penguino. Their staff were also warm and very efficient. And their dogs were lovely too!! Penguino is just off the amazing Hermanus cliff walk and is in easy walking distance of the town's plentiful shops and restaurants. It is a good base for both the town and the surrounding coast, beaches and nearby wine area.

Great location, no sea views but a very short walk to the coastal path…fantastic views from this path and we saw a mother and baby whale just across the road from the guest house. It’s also an easy walk to town with plenty of restaurants. We stayed 2 nights in early October. Our room was at the back, upstairs and was huge and very comfortable. Steffan and Nikki were extremely helpful. The restaurant recommendations were perfect. They also rearranged a boat trip for us after one was cancelled due to the swell. They also rang ahead to our next activity to confirm times/location. The breakfasts were tremendous, we loved the porridge and the salmon omelette. There were 2 very friendly dogs which did try the swimming pool (we didn’t).

Very close walking distance to the magnificent cliff walk, restaurants and shops. Stefan and Nikki were lovely hosts, and Stefan makes a 5 star breakfast, delicious. Lounge area very comfortable and our twin bed room was quite basic but large and clean. There is also a pool/outdoor lounge area, but a bit cool to swim in April. We only stayed one night, but would have enjoyed more had we had time.

Lovely place to stay. Stefan and Nikki are lovely hosts. Accommodation was clean and comfortable and breakfast was superb. Safe to walk in and out of Hermanus at night. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Would definitely recommend staying at Penguino

Nicky and Stefan made us feel so welcome, it was like staying with friends. Stefan cooks the best traditional English breakfast and presents it beautifully. The location is perfect for walking over the cliff path into the centre of Hermanus.

Room had not much privacy internally as toilet /shower was in the room and externally as other residents sat outside the room for hours drinking wine etc. Dogs were swimming in the plunge pool which was a deterrent and dog poo was left uncollected . On the positive the hosts were very helpful and breakfast was very nicely cooked/presented. Wifi was rather weak. Location is great and cliff path access is really good -- it takes 10 mn to get to the central square/access to different restaurants.

Nikki and Stefan have 4 rooms, surrounding a pool , in a lovely property. They are very welcoming hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was well equipped and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide choice on the cold buffet and a well cooked hot breakfast ( cooked by Stefan ). The Guest House is very close to the coastal path and a relatively short walk from the town centre.

From the moment we arrived until the minute we left we had a really good time. Our room was very spacious, our bed really comfortable and the bathroom excellent too. Nikki and Stefan are great hosts and provided delicious breakfasts. Each morning there was a soecial breakfast dish in addition to a menu of great choices and a selection of cereal, fresh fruit, meats and cheese. A great choice!
