We chose the ZUM SCHIFF twice as a stop on our way to Holland and back to Italy. Excellent stay Excellent dinner and breakfast Fresh meal always just cooked Simple and effective hotel where nothing is missing from what you would like to have

The room we had is very close to the bus stop so it got noise really early.

The staff is very friendly and professional. The building is a bit outdated, as are some of the rooms. Our room was comfortable but had long sienna brown shag carpet throughout. The back garden has been given over to construction materials as it seems they were at one point updating part of the building (scaffolding remains). The parking was very convenient and there is a bus stop immediately in front that takes you downtown (about 30 minutes away). The breakfast was a good value. Dinner was good but overpriced.

Fantastic! Good location easily accessible from the Autobahn, a very nice and tidy hotel with own parking garage, good restaurant, biergarten and last but not least, a very nice and friendly staff

The hotel asked us to pay again when we checked out. It does not make sense to ask a traveling guest to bear the burden of providing payment evidence. It ruined the good mood of travel in the following days.

Very nice room, and friendly staff. There was a bus stop right outside to get downtown. A lovely little bakery across the street, as well as a bank with a secure ATM across another street.

The restaurant is very nice and serves good food at reasonable prices, however it can get very busy. We stayed here for 7 nights, on our first night we asked to be moved as the room was very old fashioned and not very clean, we were moved to a refurbished room, without carpets, which was much better. Many of the rooms and communal areas are badly in need of refurbishment.

Service and the restaurant at the hotel was nice and convenient for me. The interior at the room with long haired carpet is just to old fashion for me. The beds to short and not up to date! Sure, location and price was okay - 15 minuts drive to city center.

Hotel Zum Schiff is a comfortable hotel just outside the city center. The room was cosy and the indoor parking spacious. Nice restaurant for an evening dinner as well as a healthy breakfast.

Good room, food, parking, access to bus. Grocery (Edeka) across the street. 10 min on bus to downtown. Same family has had property since 1820’s!

Lovely typically German hotel on the outskirts of Freiburg. Great selection at breakfast and very comfortable room. Bus stop (no. 14) outside to right of hotel takes you to the Hauptbanhoff then about a 7 min walk to the centre.

This was a nice one night stay for us in an auto tour of germany. It had convenient underground parking. The air conditioning was a little warm for american standards. Other than that, everything was gine.
