Cozy in the winter and blissfully cool all summer, this atmospheric, three-bedroom home in Tahoe City makes a wonderful base for adventure in the Sierras.
This two-story home sits among tall evergreens, in a serene, quiet neighborhood one mile from the heart of Tahoe City. The house is enviably close to the banks of the Truckee River, Commons Beach, Tahoe State Recreation Area, and excellent dining and shopping. Spend your summer swimming, kayaking, and fishing, and the sparkling winter months skiing the world-class slopes of Homewood Mountain Resort and Squaw Valley.
Begin each morning with a hot cup of coffee and a seat outside on the deck, where you can ease into the day amid the soft sounds of the woods. The deck is also a great spot for afternoon card games, appetizers, and alfresco meals prepared on the gas grill.
Inside, exposed beams and natural wood paneling give the house a real sense of place. Prepare hearty meals in the well-equipped kitchen, and sit down to enjoy them at the breakfast bar, the bistro high-top, and the dining room table. After dinner, you can toast your toes by the wood-burning fireplace and find a favorite movie to stream on TV.

This place gets 5 stars for the amount of people it accommodates. We were a large family with kids and pets and ended up having extra beds. It is big and spacious, and most beds were comfortable.
The following is why they only get 2 stars:
The cabin had a roof leak right on the stairs making two steps wet since it had snowed/rained that weekend (probably and ongoing problem since the roof had a tarp). The living room blinds didn't work, they were rolled up during our whole stay. A repair guy came, but there was nothing he could do.
BRING YOUR OWN TOILET PAPER! This place provided only 2 small half used rolls per bathroom of the cheapest toilet paper they could find. As well as the paper towels in the kitchen.
If you are planning to cook here BRING YOUR OWN COOKWARE AND COOKING UTENSILS. Other cabins we've rented in the area have had fully stocked kitchens with everything you can possibly need in excellent condition. Here, all the kitchen cookware and cooking utensils were either non existent or were good enough for the trash. Pots and pans with the teflon completely scratched off, hardly any cooking utensils and no knives.
Thankfully we had family coming up the day after us and they were able to bring toilet paper, cookware and utensils. Overall I believe this is a great place if you're using this place to sleep and hangout. Unfortunately it just wasn't the best fit for my family and our needs. Again, we were a large family with kids that like to stay in and cook our meals.
