About this house rental

Welcome to our charming Victorian beach house, steps from the beach and Main Street in downtown Frankfort! The house comfortably sleeps 9, with 4 bedrooms and 2 full baths. New furniture, fresh paint, beautiful landscaping, new bathrooms and lots of nice finishing touches makes it super cheerful and comfortable. With a private back patio, you can relax quietly, bbq, and hang out with friends & family. If you want a bit more action, you can sit on the lovely front porch and people watch.

NEIGHBORHOOD:

The property is right in the heart of downtown Frankfort! It is just 1 block from Main Street and 2 blocks from the beach. Frankfort has a lovely family and dog-friendly public beach on Lake Michigan and the downtown area has a growing array of shops, restaurants, cafes, a microbrewery (Stormcloud), and a movie theatre (The Garden Theater). There is also a pier that goes out into Lake Michigan and a rather famous lighthouse at the end of the pier. All of this is just a short walk from the house!

THE SPACE:

One of the best features of the house is its location. You are literally a block from Frankfort's amazing public beach, and steps from all the shops, restaurants and activities on Main Street. We have high speed wi-fi, a smart TV, and 2 desks with office chairs in case you need to work remotely. We supply all linens, outdoor grill and even our beach cart, so all you need to do is show up and relax. Also, although the house does not have central air conditioning, there are window air conditioning units in all of the bedrooms.

TRANSIT:

It is suggested that guests have their own vehicle, but since the property is downtown you can just walk around and enjoy yourself without a vehicle.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. This was a perfect place to relax. We arrived to a nicely updated home with a well appointed kitchen and comfortable beds. We also really appreciated the blackout blinds in the bedrooms. The public beach, restaurants and shops are within quick walking distance. The hosts were responsive and easy to communicate with. Thanks for a great stay!

Our 4th rental from Agape in Frankfort and most certainly one of the best! House is neat and clean, 2 blocks from downtown and 2 ish to the beach. Kitchen well supplied. Manager SUPER REPONISIVE! Quiet back porch for down time and front porch for people watching. There IS a washer/dryer- yeah! There has to be a balance comment, right? Maybe a little color to to neutral decor! But really, just go to the gorgeous beach.

We enjoyed our stay here! It is a nice large home, clean with updates. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were cute. We loved the coffee options and extras in the kitchen. Our doggie liked the little fenced in area. Such a short easy walk to the beach or downtown shopping and restaurants. Recommend for a big group!

The rental was great for what we needed for an last minute trip to Frankfort. Our contact for the rental was quick to return text messages and checked in with us before we got there. Positives: Location was very close to both downtown and the beach. Very clean and had all the necessary kitchen needs plus towels, linens, etc. We had 6 adults, 1 kid and 2 toddlers plus a dog and had plenty of space. The fenced in backyard was nice to have. Kids loved the oversized bean bag in the living room. There were also gates available to block off the stairs for the little ones. Negatives: There was nothing major, just a few minor things. It did smell a little bit like the first floor had been smoked in, perhaps before the renovation but it dissipated very quickly. Around both the showers needs some resealing and paint. The stairs are pretty steep but not completely unexpected in a home of this age. One thing that does need to be changed on the listing is that it no longer has a two twin bedroom. It didn’t mess up our sleeping arrangements but it would have been nice to know. Overall, I would recommend The Sundowner for those looking for a conveniently located and well kept rental in Frankfort.

The location was great. Appreciated the fenced backyard for our dog. There are a few repairs that need to be done to both showers and some rooms do not have heat upstairs, so we had to leave the doors open. It is hard to get out of car on right side, perhaps trim the bush next to? There are very few wall hangings for decor, upstairs none, the ones downstairs in dining room need to be framed, the driftwood is ugly. The house in general is too gray, add some color please. But walking to the beach and Main St restaurants was an excellent perk!

This lovely home has everything anyone could possibly need. It is clean, updated and in a perfect location with an easy walk to the beach and downtown. A lovely fenced backyard is perfect for kids or dogs. All furnishings and beds are like new.

So much space for a toddler and kids to navigate and spread out in sleeping areas. Everything fun was in walking distance——— beach and restaurants, and the extremely important MOOMERS ice cream!!! Sleeping Bear Dunes near enough to commit a day there and to eat at Boondocks before heading home!!! Beautiful place with the comforts of home to ensure a return visit,

Great location walking distance to bars, restaurant, and the beach. House was clean and the property manager was very accommodating in allowing us to check in early to beat the winter storm. Definitely recommend and would absolutely stay again.

This is a very nice rental property. The house is clean with attractive decor. A very nice kitchen with newer appliances, small but lovely, landscaped and fenced in yard with deck, grill and patio furniture. The thing I appreciated perhaps the most is that the home is nicely stocked with essentials such as garbage bags, paper products, coffee and more. I didn't have to spend my vacation at the grocery store. All this and 1 block from Frankfurt Beach and walkable to downtown and Betsie Valley Trail.

This place was wonderful! We were happily surprised with so many updates- including a brand ew kitchen and deck- that were not shown on the listing. The place had so much space, was super clean and the location could not have been better. We will be back!

This property was wonderful! Everything was very clean and exceeded our already high expectations! Contact with the property manager was fantastic; responses were given within minutes. We stayed with 4 adults, a toddler, and a dog and had plenty of room. The kitchen was beautiful and had great appliances as well as plenty of tools with which to cook. This house is one block from the beach and a block away from all of the shops and restaurants in town. We will definitely staying here again!

Jean was awesome and the property was perfect for a guys getaway golf trip in the area. Beds and rooms were clean and comfortable, and property manager was really responsive and overall great. Location is excellent with beach a mere 3 minute walk, and town 3 minutes the other way for food, beers, and good times.

We came up to the area for a golf weekend. This house was perfect for us. I loved the modern kitchen appliances. Everything was remodeled and so clean. It was such a great location. We walked to the brewery and to the restaurant we had made reservations at for dinner. The living space was comfortable for all of us to hang out and relax. The house exceeded our expectations. Would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful long weekend stay at this rental home! It is in the perfect location- super close to the beach and town and a short drive to Crystal Mtn. The house was clean and has comfortable beds. It was perfect for our family and we definitely will come back.

Property location was excellent. Very convenient to town and beach. Property itself was disappointing. Clearly in a mid- construction phase and we had some fixtures that did not work. As far as cleanliness, shower in downstairs bathroom very obviously had not been cleaned, and believe it or not there were mushrooms literally growing outside shower door. The management company did refund the cleaning fee portion of our bill, but we would have much preferred a clean environment especially since we had two small children with us in the first place.

This property has a great location and it had been nicely updated. I really did enjoy it. However, the common seating areas and beds upstairs had a strong dog/pet smell which made it hard for me to feel comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay in Frankfort! House was very close to the beach, clean and minimal decor (which we liked). It had plenty of room for our whole family. A bonus was the renovated bathrooms and kitchen!

This was the perfect place for our family of twelve which included two families and grandparents. The house was great, the owners were very accommodating and easy to work with, and the location was about a block to the beach and a block to town.
