About this house rental
The Eclectic Bungalow is a cozy three bedroom, two bath house located in historic downtown McKinney. Guests can walk or drive .9 miles to the McKinney Square which features restaurants, bars, shops, and live music. The bungalow offers all of the comforts of home in a clean, colorful, light-filled environment.
The Eclectic Bungalow is decorated with a mixture of vintage and modern furnishings atop original shiplap walls.
Cook your meals in the chef’s kitchen which boasts a vintage Viking range. Also included in the kitchen are a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, KitchenAid Mixer, coffee station, and farm sink. The dining table has additional leaves built in to expand the table for your dining needs.
You can enjoy a little TV or music on my SmartTV with Netflix and Amazon Prime in the living room. WiFi is easily accessible throughout the house and on the porches.
The three bedrooms with Queen mattresses include luxurious linens and comfortable mattresses. There is also a queen air mattress and linens for additional sleepers.
Two full bathrooms include fresh white linens and complimentary toiletries. Additional makeup and full-length mirrors are placed throughout the house for multiple guests getting ready at the same time.
Guests have full access of the house - including front deck and backyard. Guests can park in the carport and access the house with a keypad lock on the back door for contactless entry. You’re free to come and go as you’d like.
I work for an airline and will probably be flying during your stay. However, I am usually available by text (even in the air) with questions and have family very close by that can run by if something is needed.
Stroll through streets of bungalows and beautiful historic homes on your way to the Downtown Square. Walking/jogging trails are a short jog or drive away, as well.
The house is very close to I75 which is the corridor for almost anything you could want or need.
Allen Outlets and shopping are a 10 minute drive from the house.
There are many grocery options nearby including a Trader Joe’s, WinCo, and Walmart Marketplace.
Families can check out the nearby Heard Museum.
The neighborhood is very walkable but you will need a car for mostly everything else.
Regarding long term rentals: If my house is available, I’d consider a 3 month maximum lease term. The house will stay furnished and, unfortunately, I can’t further discount the price than what I’ve already offered for long term Airbnb stays. Thank you for your understanding.
No smoking, please.
This property is kid friendly but please use caution on the decks as there is no railing.
I hire a professional spraying company for the yard. The spray dries within 30 minutes and is not harmful to pets or children. However, in the Summer especially, I recommend bug spray.
IMPORTANT: Please do NOT bring guests not confirmed on the listing into my property without prior permission. Bringing unauthorized guests will result in immediate cancellation of your reservation and additional cleaning fees. Thank you for your compliance on this.

Viking Range (it’s quirky):
o Oven runs about 50 degrees hot. Items cook most evenly when pushed to the back of the oven.
o To light the burner, turn dial left to ignite until you see the flame then continue to turn left to select flame intensity (high, medium, low).
o Sometimes the right front burner is temperamental when the oven is on and can be lit using the lighter in the drawer next to the stove if necessary.
Vent Hood
o Press the Power Button which is the front most button on the right. Then press which speed 1 is the second closest to the front, 2 is behind, etc. To turn off, double tap the power button.
Gas Grill
o Propane should be relatively full, but feel free to reach out if not.
Air Mattress
o To inflate, plug in and press the button to “On” until you reach your desired amount of firmness. You may have to add a little air daily, but if you have any big issues, please don’t hesitate to contact me so I can replace it.
LED Lights in Dining room can be quirky. If they flash, turn off, adjust the dimmer dial and turn back on. Left two switches are front porch lights.
Thermostat is to the right of the guest bath door. Adjust via touch screen as necessary.
Bug spray, sunscreen and Thermacells (plus cartridges/pads) are in black pot on shelf next to the back door.

Our stay was wonderful. We absolutely loved the way it is decorated. My teenagers could not have liked it more. Even better than the pictures. There is not a single thing I would want changed. The outdoor area was very peaceful and relaxing. Kitchen has staples which was great. For eg, I did not have to buy olive oil when we picked up groceries. Even had a first aid kit (we needed a bandaid). Had tea, not just coffee. Have to drive from here to downtown historic McKinney, but it is a quick drive and parking available there. Quiet street. Daughters want to stay here again the next time we visit family in McKinney.
