House was clean on arrival and everything was as expected. The house is centrally located in Empire and a short drive or walk to all amenities and the beach. Would stay again!

Pros: excellent location, clean, working appliances, and overall favorable.
The cons are few but with a little attention can be rectified: fix the back step that has been broken for a bit; spruce up the outside (the neighbors even noticed the lack of TLC); clarify the grill situation; have better amenities ie some coffee, adequate amount of trash bags, a working travel cooler and better beach chairs. I think this is a corporate owned home so there should be enough money and if privately held there should be enough money. 4/5 stars

Perfect location for traveling around Empire and to Traverse City. Cute house with a very homey feel. Nicely decorated and very clean. Any assistance needed was responded to quickly and friendly. Recommend for a couple or family of 4 - 5. Cute neighborhood

Lovely landscaping, some bushes may need trimming.

Everything was great with the exception of one thing - furnace is not stable. There are periods of home losing warmth - with the hold setting of 67, the temp goes down to 63/62 and you have to turn off/on the heat to revive the furnace. Not ideal for late fall/winter.

We enjoyed the week of our stay. Fresh smell, kitchen fully stocked, and layout made for a great time. Green Glen is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay.
My husband has a few comments: We did see lots of spiders on both the front and back porches and a few inside. Power washing at the start and half way through the season would clear the spiders and webs from both porches. I had a problem with wi-fi when we first got there. The person I spoke to had a foreign accent and was hard to understand at times. Initial directions to fix it did not work. Second call, she did not tell me to turn on the router after I unplugged it. It was not clear on the unit regarding the on/off button. My grand daughter was able to fix the problem. A safety issue was reported to Glen Arbor office regarding the back porch and asked that two boards on steps be fixed.
I did show them pictures.
Bushes on both porch steps are growing through the railings making it hard to grab. Drains running slow resulted in lots of hair from the tub drain and master bath drain which was taken to Glen arbor office. I did find the kitchen VERY well equipped with everything we needed and more. GFI plug did trip at one point but I knew what to do and fixed it. Due to toaster oven. Despite the issues addressed, I would come back in the future.

The house was fine, the stairs way too steep for elderly.
NEVER STATED ON LISTING AND IF YOU BRING GRANDMA NO WAY IS SHE MAKING IT UP THE STAIRS.
WHY NOT BE HONEST SO ANYONE WITH AMBULATION ISSUES IS PREPARED OR FINDS AN EASIER RENTAL?
Also state one towel per person so people bring ample towels. At these prices, seems so chintzy?
Nice house, great location, way to much work management! Honestly it was exhausting.
The couch and chairs in living space were filthy.
The rental only provided one towel per person which is ridiculous! Even the Motel 8 provides two towels???
Had to BEG for extra towels and clean sheets to cover the dirty furniture.
They say support is available 24/7 which is a out right LIE!
Couldn't lock the door when we left first night Sat. on hold 55 minutes no one picked up.
Finally after NUMEROUS calls requesting the towels and an actual human being at the house to help with the lock,
Some did show Sun. evening.
The TV NEVER worked and the remotes were old and out of date. New remotes were deliverd Tues. afternoon so I will give Vacasa credit for that.
I would love to rent this property again but not under this management unless they strengthen their communications. Wow way to much energy spent on vacation when you first arrive and we felt like we were just in this empty hole. Never thought we would see anyone for help.
Just endless calls to people all over the world? all saying different things.
Also the grounds were very unkept.
Biggest PLUS the location!

We have been going to Sleeping Bear area for generations. We love Lake Michigan, Empire beach, Glen Arbor, dunes and the surrounding area. We boat, hike and ride bikes - and had a terrific time. Sunsets on the beach are amazing. The Green Glen house was fantastic. It is new, very clean and comfortable for our family - grandparents and family of 4. We would definitely rent it again. Located in nice subdivision in Empire - close to Joe’s Friendly, Ship wreck sandwiches and the pizza joint. All great food! Being new the house does not have a lot of “leftovers” from previous visitors - like aluminum foil, oil, spices, etc - so bring what you need. There is no grocery store in Empire - and while we were there the gas station was closed for remodeling. Otherwise there were enough paper products and cookware. Again it was a great house and we had a wonderful trip!

Empire is a beautiful friendly town and we did all the Sleeping Bear Dunes activities. The house is hardwood floors and very clean. The house provided necessities to cook meals in the kitchen. But even after full days of outdoors activity, sleep was elusive. Mattresses were sagging and lumpy, causing constant turning through the night. We couldn't get comfortable to sleep in the same bed, and all the bed frames squeeked and groaned with turning. Finally, a tree has branches scratching the house that critters use as a nighttime superhighway. A good trip could have been excellent.

Great location. Clean home. Great accommodations!

Perfect Location, close to everything. Love the Neighborhood. But the bushes and trees are way overgrown and need maintenance. Sitting on the porch, the view is obstructed by shrubs- Especially when compared to adjacent properties. Also, the house was "clean" at first glance, but cupboards and doors need to be wiped down of debris and dirt.
Also, only one shower towel per guest is provided, so bring extra if needed.
The inside is comfortable and downstairs is spacious to spread out. Beds are very comfortable.

Great. Only suggestions…the inside is so lovely but outside of the property is unkempt and some of the boards on the back deck/steps are bent/soft. Otherwise a lovely home! Enjoyed our stay

Great home in a quaint northern Michigan town within walking distance, or a short drive, to area gems & trailheads: Empire Bluff trail, Empire beach, Joe’s Friendly Tavern, and Grocer’s Daughter Chocolates! Comfy beds and well stocked kitchen. Very clean.
Check in and out is handled in the nearby town of Glen Arbor, so plan accordingly.

Quiet neighborhood and great place. Simple and modern and well laid out - enjoyed our stay. Empire is awesome and it’s easy to get to all the key sites from this house.

The house was within walking distance to to Empire and the beach.

The house was plenty big and the extra bathroom downstairs was nice. Full
Kitchen- could have been a bit more stocked with pans and baking sheets but we made do.
Our biggest complaint was the furnishings, which were fairly janky- 2 of the chairs were clearly broken in the dining room. The living room couch has seen better days. There were waaaaaaay to many spiders on both the front and back porch. I understand it’s built on sand but regular sweeping and some extermination might help this situation. We didn’t want to spend anytime on either porch because of this and there was little yard.
Still, one mile from the public beach, was easy to bike daily around the village and to and from the property. Esch beach was 4 miles down the road and was stunning!

We had a birthday getaway for my mom and had the best time. The house was spacious and clean. Kitchen was beyond stocked with all necessary equipment. The neighborhood is wonderful. We hope to go back next year
