Everything was super luxurious and comfortable. We were able to see the northern lights on the night of our stay and it was spectacular, especially because there’s no light pollution here. If you’re exploring the Snæfellsnes peninsula, this is a great stop.

Reserved 2 rooms side by side in a very peaceful setting overlooking the ocean and mountains.
4.6
Very nice hotel in a picturesque place. Good location for seeing the peninsula. Good restaurant. The Arctic Char Tartar and the Cod were excellent.

Beautiful rooms, best shower we had in Iceland. Water pressure was amazing. Very nice renovated rooms and restaurant was lovely.

Great property, tasteful design and decor, beautifully done.

The hotel was amazing. It was cozy and well appointed. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

This property is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It is located in a majestic setting with many open common spaces on the ground floor to sit and read or have a drink with floor to ceiling windows and glacier topped mountains and lava fields as your background. BUT the room (loft room) needs updating. Bathroom poorly designed. And the room and bedding smelled very musty. There is a skylight but no window to open and air it out. The dinner option is very expensive with very small portions. The breakfast on the other hand was amazing - best I had in Iceland.

We enjoyed our stay at Budir Hotel. Highly recommend this place to others.

Gorgeous hotel, rooms extremely well decorated and comfortable
Our favorite hotel in all of Iceland

Beautiful setting.

The hotel is quite rundown, with old, squeaky floorboards in the room. The elevator was out of order during my stay, and the window in my room wouldn't open. The bathroom fan didn't work either. If you're looking for a quick stop, you'd be better off driving to your next destination for more lodging options. Additionally, there is no designated parking, only a gravel and dirt lot.

This is a beautiful getaway hotel removed from everything else — tucked away in a remote little piece of Iceland where you can wake up to birds singing and the sound of crashing water. Everything has clearly been recently renovated: the beautiful rainfall showers, huge LED-lit mirrors, comfortable beds, balconies, bar and lounge areas, etc. The staff are wonderful, too — as is the breakfast. Down side is that this is remote indeed, so your only walkable eating option is their restaurant — and it’s just not good for dinner. We asked our server what she recommended, and she said the veggie dishes because she’s a vegetarian. Ok cool… maybe that WAS the right choice, because we paid $50-60 each for 2 tiny pieces of lamb, an overdone super-thin piece of “medium-rare ribeye,” and a dry piece of cod. We paid less than that for better food in Reykjavik, so it’s not just sticker shock in Iceland.

Very pretty area. Nice hiking trail right there.

Beautiful location. Parking situation could be improved as there are no marked parking spots. The food was good at the restaurant, but we had to wait quite a while for it. They did offer a complimentary drink due to our wait. The room was quaint with a lovely view. The shower was small but ok except that the drain was very slow. The hand soap, shampoo, and body wash provided had a strong scent so those who are sensitive may wish to bring their own.

Beautiful property! The food it’s delicious, the staff very friendly and the views are fantastic! The room where we stayed was spacious, cozy and super comfortable. I do recommend everyone staying here.

Luxury hotel in a great location, easy parking, breakfast is not included but on site restaurant offers a really good breakfast. We ald had dinner here after a long drive, very nice and fine cooking. Location is great for photographs as it is far away from everything.

I have stayed in Budir several times over the years and remain really impressed by it. The food is very good and the setting is truly stunning. The hotel has been expanded, and I stayed in one of the newer rooms, which are nicely done.
4.6
Expensive and they charge a lot for breakfast. Unfortunate as there is no other option. But, the hotel is great and the food (esp dinner) was excellent. 2nd time staying here.

Hotel Budir looked like the perfect spot to spend the last two days of our Iceland vacation. The lobby and lounge areas are very attractive, and the dining was very good. Our room, though, was a true disappointment, and the price we paid was absurd for such poor lodgings. Every light fixture in the room had some kind of problem - one had exposed wires, one had a discolored lampshade, and one had a pull chain that was previously repaired but still didn't work. The bathroom door was made of cheap particle board, was missing a handle, and had a huge chunk torn off at the bottom. The bathtub was designed in such a way that you only had about 1.5 square feet to stand in - the smallest of any hotel I stayed at in Iceland. The sink was similarly tiny, and you had to stand sideways between the sink and the toilet to be able wash your face or brush your teeth without hitting your head on the glass shelf placed immediately above it. The worst part was the window, which leaked very badly. There were strong winds when we stayed there, and we could hear/feel the wind whistling into the room. Our heater was broken and only put out a tiny amount of heat, so the room was extremely cold for both nights. Additionally, you had to cross a rooftop area in gale force winds and snow to access rooms 301-305. Did it ruin our trip? No. But it was more akin to a cheap roadside motel than a $250/night room. It was both the most expensive and worst room we had on our 16-day vacation. Very disappointed.

Nice place. Cool location.

There were so many special details within the property. beautiful bar area with gorgeous views. The room was clean. We could not open the window so the room was hot. We were supposed to have a partial ocean view but we had a view of the scaffolding from construction. Staff was very friendly. Food was delicious.

This was a very quaint hotel with good food and friendly staff. The areas around the hotel were fun to explore.

The property is stunning and cozy. The perfect place to stay while touring Iceland. The restaurant was awesome too! We did the 5 course tasting menu and wine pairing and it was great! Every dish was well considered and delicious.

Amazing hotel. Had a nice dinner in the restaurant and good cocktails in the lounge. Nice breakfast buffet too.

Wonderful experience overall. Gorgeous property and the staff were SO kind and helpful. We had an excellent dinner at the hotel restaurant and ate breakfast at the hotel both mornings. Great buffet selection and views from the dining area. Loved our stay and would definitely come back.

Expensive stay with major construction an very limited amenities.

It’s a beautiful setting and the inside is attractive and comfortable (though some of the seating in the lovely bar area needs replacing or refurbishing). For a hotel of this supposed quality, and certainly for the cost, I was very surprised there wasn’t lotion in the room, and that coffee and tea weren’t available without paying extra.

Absolutely beautiful!

Great location in the easy access to black sand beach, trails, cave, glacier, mountains and black church. The restaurant and food service was excellent.

Love the skylights and the dogs. Staff was very nice. Great cocktail menu.

Beautiful little hotel in the middle of nowhere in Snaefellsness Iceland. Just a little bit of driving away from the national park, beautiful Hellnar and Arnarstapi, and the north part of the peninsula.
The hotel had a lot of character, with friendly staff, good restaurant, and even some hiking trails right outside.
The room and bed were comfortable and well-supplied.
Finally, the vibe was great. People actually gathered in the several common areas in the afternoon to have drinks and hang. I'd stay here again.

What's an amazing place. Everything about this hotel shouts style.
The staff, add to the wonderful experience of your stay. Their restaurant is one I would highly recommend .
All in all, one of the best hotels I've stayed in, in my travels around the world.

Very nice location, staff was very friendly made you feel at home. The room they initially showed us was so small one person had to crawl over the other to get out of bed in the morning, asked for a room upgrade and that was OK.
