Sehr schöne Umgebung, niedliche Zimmer, gute Betten, super Bad!

First of all I will write that we would love to come back. The hotel offers a very good breakfast with quality ingredients. I think everyone will find something for themselves. The selection can always be wider, but it suited us. The experience was a dinner that was really excellent, well thought out in taste in a beautiful place. Contrary to some reviews, we didn't mind that we had to go out into the winter in the morning and evening, actually the food was always associated with a small walk. The staff was very helpful and smiling. The castle has an atmosphere, and the fact that it is a bit shabby somewhere is part of it.
And now something less pleasant for other visitors. The photos show the castle and its surroundings in a better light than reality. The castle complex is connected by agricultural buildings and a quit busy road. The rooms aren't really cozy with only the bare essentials, however the bathroom was new and functional. You need to prepare for the ubiquitous stairs. We were traveling with our dog, his paws were slipping and we had to carry him. When allocating a room, it would be worth thinking about what it's like to travel with a dog. The rooms are not sound-proofed and, above all, there is no hall, so everything from the corridor can be heard right into the room. We didn't even try the wellness because it was in another building and very small.

Large room in castle with nice modern bathroom. Plenty of plugs. Heated pool.
Long walk from parking spot to castle in 14 degree F weather. Only 2 choices for dinner.

Fantastic Castle, 100% romantic setting and spectacular building. Superb breakfast room, very good restaurant. Very friendly reception staff.
the Sauna / Wellness area is way too small, not in par with the rest of the building.

Restaurant food was good.
Zero atmosphere, bad parking, distance from car park to castle, poor breakfast, poor refreshments in the most expensive room, fridge unplugged and despite a no dogs in restaurant’rule’ there was a dog in the restaurant and breakfast room whilst I had to put my dog in the car!!!!

Very nice castle, nice dining and breakfast hall, nice nussknacker museum in the town, nice personnel. I recommend this place for all travelers from or to the north of Europe - very strategic place to make brake.
When we arrived, all area around was in the terrible smell of cow dung. But at about midnight all bad smell disappeared, what made this place even more magic and nice.

Nice comfortable stay, good breakfast, nice park and wellness

The restaurant was amazing, really good food!
There is not much to do both in the hotel and in the surroundings.

The hotel is absolutely lovely. It combines everything from a romantic castle with the luxury of modern life. The rooms are comfortable with excellent beds and antique furniture. The bathroom is modern an clean. You can explore the hotel in all it’s nooks and crannies or walk around in the gardens. Once you have done that you can take walks in the regions nature or visit the villages. Because of COVID we could not enjoy the wellness but with everything to do I did not mis it. In the evening you can enjoy dinner at the hotel or on the days the restaurant is closed at other excellent restaurants nearby.
Service is very very good. Everyone is friendly and helpful. They speak several languages even Dutch.
My dog was also welcome and also enjoyed himself.
So if you enjoy walks and the relaxing in a romantic setting with excellent food and service this is a must.
The pillow on the bed was a little small for my taste
