This was a wonderful experience! The hotel is gorgeous and the customer service was excellent. Taylor and Paula were especially friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel highly and hope to stay there again.

The bed was horrible, we sunk right into it. There was no support.

The property is beautiful but we were given a room next to the front desk and elevator despite the inn not being full. The front desk staff started work at 6 am and was very loud waking us in the morning. Dinner at the Grove was not good but the service was great.

I loved my stay at the inn. My room was lovely, comfy bed and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only negative is the restaurant on site is closed Monday and Tuesday so there were no lunch/dinner options or no bar and it's such a lovely restaurant. Breakfast was a little too basic however, the grounds, pool and everything else is very lovely. I will for sure stay again when I am back in the area.

We stayed to attend a wedding 20 minutes away at Crane Estate in Ipswich. It was an easy drive to and from the wedding.

Everything was wonderful!

Everything was great, I would stay again.
When I booked, I called the spa to have a massage scheduled. The lady that took the call, wasn't to professional and it seemed like I was a bother, so we booked else where and got great service

Beautiful property but not perfect for the price

We had a great time at the Briar Barn for our Massachusetts stay-cation!

a hotel with an unmatched design, each detail is carefully selected, the rooms are very spacious and I loved their coffee and water stands throughout the hotel.
Breakfast includes little variety, but what they offer: coffee, ice coffee, tea , yogurt, muffins and scones are delicious and nice served.

We stayed only one night, but hope to come back soon as we did not get to try the spa. Room was cute and cozy, with a fireplace, deep tub, cute throw blankets. Restaurant was very nice, food and drinks were excellent (try the pasta primavera!), atmosphere upscale but comfy, service next to perfect. I think overall the only things we felt were missing for a spa hotel was a hot tub/sauna, we would have liked the fire pit lit at night (it might have been if we’d asked, but didn’t want to bother anyone), and maybe a better continental breakfast. Overall, loved the place though! We did go to Three Sweet Peas bakery up the road for breakfast sandwiches, chai, and baked goods and highly would recommend.

A beautiful inn. We were enjoyed the breakfast on the back porch!

The property is very nice. Cozy and well kept. The restaurant was so nice. The food was very delicious, fresh, and so tasty.
Our only negative comment was on the cleaning in the room, we were one towel short, no extra toilet paper, no tissue, we had to ask for everything.

We felt that the "continental breakfast" didn't have many options to choose from.

Everything has been chosen with care. It's such a warm, clean, and inviting space to relax in a beautiful location. It's pretty convenient to everything, particularly Crane Beach.

Incredible hotel and location! 5 star. Nicest hotel I have been in years with no expenses saved to offer a high class experience where they have thought of everything. The bathrooms offer large showers and separate deep bathtubs, plush robes and bath salts. The fireplace was great on a rainy evening and morning. Pool is small, but has soft lounge chairs next to the spa. Don’t pass this gem, it’s amazing!!

Quaint and comfortable inn with beautiful grounds and good amenities Staff were friendly and accommodating. Other guest were friendly and courteous. Despite some reviews that say otherwise, I thought the pastries were good and not your standard mass produced versions, I do think a small microwave to warm them if preferred (my preference for bfast pastries) would be a nice addition though! Beds were comfortable as were the bed linens. The separate shower and deep soaking tub, as well as the fireplace, were a very nice elevating touches. Finally, the mini bar was reasonably priced as compared to big hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would visit again! Centrally located to visit Newburyport, Salem, and other towns as well as the southern Maine coast.

One of the best stays. Property was easy to maneuver, rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was the friendliest. Newbury port is only a 13 min drive. The restaurant on site the grove was exceptional. 10/10

The Briar Barn is was lovely and we would stay there again. It was a quick trip so we didn’t access the spa or restaurant but they looked wonderful.
Room was well decorated, clean and comfortable.

This place is such a gem!! I attend an annual, near-by conference each year and have always dreaded the accommodations. Briar Barn has changed that! Clean, beautiful, friendly, accommodating--can't praise this place enough.

Outstanding over the top service!

Very nice hotel. Staff were exceptional. Odd that their restaurant was closed on a Saturday. The front desk person gave us a good recommendation for a place in town.

V Quaint and comfortable hotel
3.0
The room was very pleasant with a seating area in front of electric fireplace and extras like robes and special soaps. There was even a soaker tub. The mini bar had several options and prices weren’t too bad. The bed and pillows were however horrible. The bed sank in the middle like a bowl so to sleep on your side you felt like you had to clutch the edge. The pillows( kingsize) were flat at center as all the filling had pushed to each end. The hotel seemed fairly empty ( next to no cars in lot) but we were put in a first floor room ( not my choice ever) on the back instead of overlooking the courtyard. Ask for a room in the desired location.
It would have been nice if we had been told that the restaurant was closed all week when we booked. The coffee stations on each hall were a nice amenity, but I’m a tea drinker and the Kuereg system is not great for tea. The tea tasted like a combo of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. They need a separate brewing system for us tea drinkers. It was undrinkable. The fancy continental breakfast was extremely lacking. Pastries looked wonderful but were very dry. Only thing else available were apples, oranges and some yogurt. No juice or even water to wash down that dry pastry.
For the price we paid for one night it was far from worth it. Perhaps the spa facilities are the draw.
