Unacceptable Booking Experience with bedbugs and no proper action form owner and Booking

In late May, we booked an apartment for three nights via Booking.com, only to have a horrifying experience. Upon our arrival, we discovered a severe bedbug infestation. My daughter suffered multiple bites throughout the night, and we found numerous bedbugs, which we photographed. We were compelled to vacate the premises immediately. We contacted the owner directly but received no response. Subsequently, we reached out to the intermediary managing the rental, who informed us that we would receive one night free of charge. However, this was not a satisfactory solution for us. We also contacted Booking.com customer service, expecting a call back, which never came. To avoid further issues, we immediately sought alternative accommodation, incurring additional costs for two more nights, which we also booked through Booking.com. The thought of potentially carrying the infestation to our new lodging was extremely distressing. Despite promises of follow-up within 24 hours, neither the owner nor Booking.com reached out to us. Upon returning home, we had to thoroughly disinfect and treat all our belongings to prevent bringing the infestation into our house. Booking.com later informed us that the owner found no evidence of bedbugs, which is unsurprising since these pests are not visible during the day. The owner claimed to have seen no dead bug and denied the presence of the numerous red-black specks left by the bites. They insisted on reimbursing only one night, which we found entirely inadequate. We reported the issue to the Booking.com Dispute Resolution Committee but have yet to receive a response. Although we received less than one-third of our booking cost back, we were still charged for cleaning fees, tourist tax, and other expenses on the grounds that we had "simply" canceled our booking. The notion that we should have remained in such an unsanitary apartment is preposterous. Furthermore, the apartment's online photos were misleading.

Nous sommes arrivés à 15h comme prévu. La personne qui fait le nettoyage venait juste d'arriver l'appartement était en piteuse état bouteille de whisky qui traîne de tout partout par terre. Une paroi de douche était manquante l'abattant des WC était cassé. La chasse d'eau était cassée. Les prises électriques même pas protégées le cumulus qui fuyait goutte-à-goutte dans un seau. La tête de douche était cassée. Le frigo tout rouillé les lits plein de cheveux partout. L'emplacement très excentré du centre de Barcelone comptez une quarantaine de minutes et en plus aucun stationnement. La dame de ménage nous demande de partir pour qu'elle puisse faire son médaille alors que nous venions de faire 7h de route on avait juste une envie c'était de se doucher avec ses 40 degrés hors à la place on nous a demandé de repartir. Les photos présentes sur Booking ne sont pas celles à notre arrivée.

Estancia de un día con avería y reembolso por lo sucedido

Buena ubicación respecto a nuestro objetivo que era una visita médica al hospital Quiron.

Hubo una avería en el calentador de agua y no lo pudieron cambiar durante mi estancia como me habían comunicado. No obstante, me ofrecieron un reembolso por las molestias.

bien situé avec des bus a proximité pour aller en ville

le menage mal fait, la vaisselle pas tres propre, la cafetiere qui avait pourri en l'interieur, les radiateurs qui ne fonctionnent pas tres bien l'appartement meriterait un grand coup de propre et de rafraichissement

Un disastro! Scegliete altro!

Appartamento senza riscaldamento dunque freddo. Acqua calda che dopo una doccia di 2 minuti diventava fredda, quindi ci siamo ritrovati per 5 giorni a lavarci un giorno si e l'altro no. L'appartamento è per 5 persone quindi trovo indecente che dopo la prima doccia della durata di 1 minuto le altre persone debbano farsela congelata contando che siamo andati nella stagione invernale. Abbiamo fatto presente al proprietario la situazione e se ne è altamente fregato; della serie avete già pagato arrangiatevi. Servizio clienti pessimo. Divano che cadeva a pezzi,finestre che non si chiudevano con la sicura, testata del letto con capperi attaccati. Aprivi il balconcino e c'era una discarica di cose ammassate! Insomma un didastro!

it's a very big apartment located 600 m from park guell, but it's a beautiful walk to get there. we used the bus 24 to get to the center which comes really often and easy to use

Perfect for a group of friends

A nice flat we booked for visiting Barcelona for the weekend, it has everything you might need for a short stay, kitchen is well equipped. Bus stops are just in front of the house, shops & bakery are right around the corner. The flat isn't located in the city centre, but the neighbourhood was calm and nice.

There is no lock on bathroom door, the furniture is not new and might need some repair. But it was OK with us (especially for the price, we stayed during Primavera sound and haven't spent a lot of the time indoors anyway).

Location close to grocery shops and bus stop to the city centre. Very close to Park Guell entrance. View from the roof terase to the city. Clean and equiped flat,dishwasher and washing machine,many rooms and space. Great price.

A stay in HELL 😡🤬

Absolutely nothing 😡

Everything. Very unfriendly and unhelpful staff. There are no staff to communicate with if you have any inquiry. I tried contacting them a number of times using the telephone number provided on booking and all I got from them every time was "text us on booking and will get back to you". We arrived early in Barcelona and contacted them to request an early check in. They refused and as a result we had to wonder around the city with 2 BIG bags and 2 children. On check out, we requested late check out because our flight had been delayed by 12 hours. Again, refused and had to spend a very long time at the airport. The apartment building is located on a very high steep hill which meant we had to drag our bags up the hill for more than 45 minutes. We had contacted their staff to ask about access to the apartment and we didn't hear from them. We even asked if there were any locker rooms to leave our bags until check in time but still no answer. The rooms were very cold and all we could find was 3 small heaters which couldn't possibly make the rooms warm. Having said all of that, I must say that I admire their courage to contact me after check out asking me for a good feedback on booking and informing me that if I decided to stay in their apartments again, I should contact them directly not through Booking and they would offer me a discount. How ironic. Now they know how to contact guests. Definitely not worth the money inspent at all. I would never recommend anyone to stay in their apartments.

Simple check in with all information provided by the host prior to arrival. Very easy contact with the host over the app. Apartment is a great value for money. Shop right outside and bus stops near the place too.

A lovely little apartment for the physically active.

The building was spacious and well equipped with basic items. The area is lovely and has many facilities.

Comfortable beds, clean

The only air condition is in the living room which is quite far away from the bedrooms so the cold air doesn’t reach the bedrooms, it is almost impossible to sleep there comfortable in the summer.
