wonderful hotel.stay there whenever in San diego

For a 2 star hotel it's clean but the sink/toilet/tub area severly outdated/old although clean. My disappointment is with paid parking..15.00 a day and microwave..5.00 a day. I thought I really found a deal, I suppose it still was, but hidden extras you have to have,(parking your vehicle at the property) seems a sneaky way to get more money out of the customer. Maybe I'm old-school but it's the firstime I had to pay for parking and it was at a 2 star hotel. The waffle restaurant at the premises was great. We picked up our order and ate in our room two days. It's a good large motel but add 15.00 or 20.00 a day to your rate.

I’ve stayed many times here, but this room was a little wonky, not square, kind of tringular, no nice chair to sit in like the other rooms. A little disappointed. Was here for medical appts. Will stay here again regardless. Oh, and the upstairs shower extremely loud, and for awhile sounded like a herd of elephants stomping around. Stopped before bedtime.

The hotel was a good option to stay near the city but not in the path of high prices. The room was generally clean, though the floor was quite dirty - I had slippers, but my travel companion's feet were black with dirt after walking around the room barefoot. The beds & pillows were comfortable and there was a minifridge (microwave available to use in a public area). The bathroom was small in space but the shower ran hot water, and the sink was outside of the toilet/shower area, which is always convenient for multiple travelers. The Waffle Spot and Amigo Spot both had good food and service. The front lobby staff was also friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a good experience.

My kids and I were there for my daughters birthday. It was wonderful. Close to everything. The beds were a little hard and the bathroom was a little small but it was cozy and clean. We'd stay again 🤗

There was almost no hot water to shower regardless of the time of day. It would cut in and out from scalding to stone cold. There was a gap under the door that let cold outside air into the room. The TV cut out intermittently and it took them a day to respond. I got tired of waiting and disconnected and reconnected the cables and it resolved the issue. Maid service was very good. The staff were friendly.

Great location for doing all things San Diego.

Great for overnight stay. Clean and perfect location close to the airport.

All was great, but didn’t know about the $15 car parking fee per day which seems to be discerning. Seems to take advantage of your clients without warning if they book anywhere but directly with you.

We forgot to ask if there was an elevator and sure enough our room was on the upper level. They did have a freight elevator and a maintenance worker delivered our bags to our room for us.
There was no microwave BUT there was a really nice refrigerator with separate door freezer.
This hotel has far too many rooms for the size of the hot tub but it was hot and bubbly.

Was a nice stay.

My room was completely and utterly disgusting. Stained pillows, dirty shower curtain, clogged tub and just over all a nasty experience.

Clean, nice daily room service, courteous service, lots of parking and centrally located. Will definitely come again

My stay was horrible.

Excellent little Motel. Very clean and attached to a wondeful breakfast spot.

Very friendly staff when checking in. Pleasantly surprised a the cleanliness of the property and room. Room is large with windows that open for fresh air circulation.TV has plenty of channels to choose from. I grabbed a coffee one morning from the restaurant, super cute place and coffee was good. I would definitely not hesitate staying here again if needed to be in the area.

Loved it. Great place to stay

Very good , non frills in heart of San Diego .
Immaculate room, easy parking, and good value for San Diego.

I don't usually leave reviews, however, this place was very nice! The staff were polite and accommodating. The waffles.....yes!

Lovely room, although the bathroom was quite small. Grounds were very well kept and the pool and hot tub were awesome.

They gave exceptional customer service -we arrived hours early as we just got off or cruise ship and they kept all our luggage and bags

Our go to hotel whenever we visit San Diego. Good prices, through Hotels.com, convenient, clean.

The bed was comfortable and the pillows where plentiful and fluffy. The Waffle Spot had great food and great service. My only negative is the bathroom needs remodeling and the towels were starting to get a little threadbare. Overall it was a very comfortable stay. The pool and jacuzzi looked fantastic although I didn’t use either. I would definitely stay again!!

Good stay, clean room

The hotel stepped back in time to the '60s in it's setting, however the room was comfortable, clean and updated. The staff was friendly and efficient. Only one recommendation, in room coffee and coffee shop coffee "needs improvement". This was a repeat visit as parents of a USD student.

we always choose Kings Inn when we go to San Diego, it’s a perfect middle spot between all the things we want to do and places we want to go! It is always clean, welcoming and all the staff has always been kind and accommodating!

I was pleasantly surprised. This place was charming, family friendly and such a great atmosphere. This is the first time in a long time I’ve been someplace where the service has been this great. The people who work at this place are so very nice that I can’t help but think the management must treat them well. And most importantly, the room was clean. They have the hardest job if you ask me. And the place was decorated for Halloween. The decorations around the hotel were adorable and original.

The room was ok not like past stays. There was hair on the shower wall and when they came to clean looked like they only removed but did not clean. No coffee replaced. Key would not work for access to pool/spa area. Food in waffle spot use to be amazing and now bacon not cooked very good and mini waffles doey inside. Coffee was bitter. Not allowing me to post pictures.

The hotel is along the highway but u cant hear a noice once the doors are closed. The hotel itself shows its age but it was still well kept and clean. Location is very accessible even without a car as the bus stop is right outside of the hotel entrance. Very near the fashion mall and the main transport service. We were upgraded and the room we had was very spacious, a lot bigger than the space we had with the other hotels of a higher rating. I will definitely stay here again once back in San Diego and will definitely recommend it to anyone.

I stay here every time I go to San Diego even though I have family there! I love everything about this property! Close to all freeways, shopping malls, other restaurants and access to all the city has to offer! Pool and jacuzzi always clean! Love the patio area and love the waffle spot and Diego restaurant on the premises!
One and only complaint this stay was the kids upstairs running back and forth all night and up early the next day! Could’ve complained but I’ve been there having kids! Maybe next time put families downstairs!

The upgrades to the property are great. We have been staying here for over 20 years off and on. The only negative was that the beds were not as comfortable as our last stay. The Waffle Spot is, always, a go to. The property is central to everything we did in SD.

Great location for most places to go to in San Diego!

The room was clean except the floor was dirty. The room was functional and the beds were very comfortable. No frills but did the job.

We stayed for one night to visit the amazing San Diego Zoo early the next morning and it was a great experience! We did get to the hotel late but all accommodation was prefect for the price and the room was very clean!

Second time staying here. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds and always hot water. Super convenient to beaches, airport and downtown. On premise Waffle House is a must.
