Great hotel location, swimming pool was perfect, views were amazing, only thing was the rooms were slightly outdated and could do with some work.

After reading the reviews we expected it to be a bit tatty. Our room was spacious, with two rooms for a family of 4.
The balcony door was not secure and let in ants. Our belongings are covered in ants, we only realised how bad it was once we left for the airport. Our hand luggage is was crawling. Grim

This is a truly spectacular "palazzo", with somewhat sparse rooms that are large with very high ceilings. The entry is unimpressive (which may be a characteristic of a palazzo in Italy), but the large garden and grounds in the back are spectacular.

This is a grand old building which could be (perhaps once was) a lovely hotel, set in grounds which could be (perhaps once were) beautiful. But everything is so poorly maintained and absolutely filthy everywhere that the hotel is barely fit for purpose.
The chairs in the breakfast room are grimy as are the (paper) table cloths which are never changed. Breakfast consisted of dry bread and room temperature fruit which often seemed on the turn.
Our room, like the rest of the hotel, was filthy - we asked for a sheet to cover the disgusting headboard. Everything metal (taps, shower, bins) is rusty. Toilet rolls, towels and sheets were rarely replaced. The floors were NEVER cleaned during our 10 day stay. We were initially allocated a room without a shower and when we filled the bath on arrival, it emptied itself and flooded the room. We were moved to a terrace room on day 2 with a shower that worked intermittently but the air con didn't work at all and we only had a fan - it was 45 degrees outside. Our terrace was decorated by dead plants in pots full of cigarettes, which was the same all around the property.
The pool is nice but the few beds/tables are dilapidated. DO NOT venture to the underground toilet - the stairs are lined with used sanitary towels and the whole area is piled with broken furniture, fixtures, fittings and mirrors. Advertised as a four star hotel with bar and restaurant - there is no bar and the only evening dining was pizza available intermittently

There was not english speaker at the reception. The rooms were old and had black mold from the air conditioner. Shower didn't have courtain and was moldy all over. The lamps weren't working floor was dirty. The outside is not just a old is run down. This is false advertising. Breakfast was not good. We had to move.

Beautiful pool but closed too early. Acceptable room - not very good AC. Nice casual breakfast. 2 nights was perfect to see the sights.

We stayed here for one night - it was a great and convienient location for visiting Herculanaeum and our "Horse Riding Naples" tour the following day. Parking was safe and secure. Our room was larger than expected with a great terrace. The pool was so fun - big and spacious with loungers and drinks service until 6pm.
In the evening we ate in the restaurant. Only pizza was available, no other snacks or desserts, but it was good pizza :) There was live music playing the courtyard until about midnight. My husband and I went for a walk around the area after dinner. The hotel is quite nice, a slightly crumbly old grand villa that has seen better days, but clean. The area was not particularly welcoming after dark, and we failed to find a bar for a drink or a place for an icecream - quite delapidated and run down area. Buffet breakfast was standard, in a beautiful old dining room with huge high ceilings! Staff were friendly and helpful, as we've experienced all around beautiful Italy.

Run down castle, needs paint and upkeep of property. Great location, easy access to Herculaneum ruins, kind staff, and clean

Very friendly and helpfull. It was our first wedding anniversary ans aas given 210 which waslarge, comfortable with lovely decoration, fridge in room, also table and chairs.
Gardens and hotel very pretty. Daily roomservice was impeccable. Aircon not great depite unit in room (it was a very large room). Glad it wasnt high season as it would have been too hot.
Breakfast is continetal but extensive and varied, I enjoyed the cakes and pasties especially. Regularly topped up so fresh and warm. Some variation every day too so never bored with the food.
Pool was peacefull, lovely, clean and water was warm with lifeguard and small cold drinks offering. Loungers very comfortable.
Downside currently no bar or restaurant if you want evening drinks it food. However there are pizzas plus pleanty of local eateries and bars.
Very close to ruins of Herculaneum and 15 mins walk to train station. Perfect for sxploring Pompei, Naples, Sorrento etc
Admittedly a little tired in areas however you can see the effort is there to make your stay a comfortable and happy one.
Its not 5 star but you get what you pay for and its better than most in this locality. Its certainly better than many of the reviews suggest.
We had a wonderful stay and
Would happily return.
Thank you to all the Miglio Oro staff!!!

The breakfast was not fresh. The building was unkempt and all the surrounding. It's a shame because it had lots of potential but no one is interested. The bathroom facilities were really old, rusty and the shower doors were not closing fully. It does need a good renovation.

Beautiful gardens and stylish deco in antique style rooms. Conveniently situated for tge ruins.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Quiet, beautiful, serene surroundings. Definitely need a car to see the local area. The hotel and grounds were wonderful!!!

While our room was spacious, the hotel overall is a disappointment. Everything seems to be falling appart. The air conditioning in the room was not working so it was like an oven. We got portable air coolers sent which didn't do much to relieve the issue. The fridge in the room was not working. We were told a technician will be sent and this did not happen. Furniture in the room barely stands up (the Ottoman in our room had a broken leg). The overall site requires maintenance. The garden is a jungle, the walking area has not been cleared in ages and there is a build up of slippery moss/ slime grass. Breakfast is rubbish (more continental Vs hot breakfast). Restaurant is basic. However food was not bad.

Good service but in need of maintenance.

Shabby Chic with amazing grounds and views from the rooms of Naples Bay or Vesuvius. The building is one of a kind. It has faded elegance and beautiful decorative details that cannot be found in a modern hotel. There are cracks and wobbles and it needs money to refurbish and make it excellent. That said, if I wanted a base for Herculaneum, Pompeii, Naples, Sorrento again, I would happily stay at Miglio D'Oro Park Hotel again.

Gorgeous hotel and grounds. The floors were not very clean and the bed back boards in one of our rooms was very stained. It looked terrible. One of our 3 rooms had no shower and just a hand held sprayer that could not be wall mounted.
Staff was friendly and the free breakfast was wonderful.
Just 5 minutes walk from here to Herculaneum! The neighborhood is dirty, littered, busy.
Over all the hotel is gorgeous, just needs a thorough cleaning throughout and replace a few worn out or stained items. The grounds out back, including the pool are amazing! We appreciated the free parking, even for hours after check out while we walked to Herculaneum.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
Extremely disappointed in this hotel. Overall condition was is disrepair. Lights not working, the entrance door frame to our room was broken and not secure, cleanliness was so bad, we had to wipe the cutlery before using any of it. Mold and holes in the shower ceiling, paint peeling off the walls.
The main pool was dirty and there was no bar service.
I will never, ever recommend this hotel to anyone,,,, ever. This should be renovated or torn down. Sorry we ever stayed here.

The property is nice. Old with good grounds. But no direction of how to park. The breakfast is very ordinary and the staff even worse. They picked up anything that finished even though it was still 30 minutes to go be free breakfast ended. They served coffee as if they are making the beans and then making the coffee. Staff need Ms some training on customer satisfaction

Expedia re-booked us to this property when our original reservation fell through and I am so glad they did. Walking distance from the beach and the Herculean Ruins. The property itself was absolutely lovely - while being a little outdated (bathroom/shower area left lots to be be desired), the bed was super comfortable and the pool and landscape was beautiful! I walked through fountains, towers, and an amazing nature trail right on the property. Breakfast was provided each morning at no additional cost and the glass elevator surrounded by a marble staircase was breathtaking. The front desk helped arrange our pick-up and gave great suggestions for food options really close by. Property is only a 10 minute walk to the train to go to Pompeii - absolutely recommend this hotel!

We enjoyed our stay. The food was very good, breakfast fine
the staff friendly and helpful. An elegant hotel which seems to have been recently refurbished though the bathroom door was difficult to open wide as it caught on the floor.Very conveniently situated for Herculaneum, the railway station and the motorway network. We would stay again.

Great property near Naples. Convenient location and walking distance to neighborhood restaurants/shops. Staff is great but the surroundings are not too aesthetically pleasing.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!
This hotel is totaly run down, and the service is incredibly bad. On Hotels.com they advertise that only Deluxe Rooms and Superior Rooms have sea view. We booked in advance a Deluxe Room for 4 nights. The pictures on Hotel.com of this room are glamorous, showing a room, nicely furnished, well-maintained, beautiful decorated walls, a nice and well-maintained bathroom. The reality is VERY different from these glamorous pictures: Holes in the walls, plaster of the walls fells down, electric installations fall out of the wall, doors of the cabinets fall of, safety box did not function, tiles in the bathroom was missing, shower cabin was dirty and mouldy, the doors of the shower cabin falls of and there was a lack of furnish (lamps, tables, chairs, etc.). This was not in accordance with the room we have ordered!
We confronted the reception desk. They offered us another room, newly renovated, but not a Deluxe Room, why we declined the offer. Then they started renovating our room, without notifying us, with trowel and paint on the walls. So, we lived in a room under renovation, why we checked out.
When we checked out, the reception offered us a Deluxe Room later that day, when it would become vacant. We declined, having spent 2 of our 4 nights in a room VERY different to the specifications. They did not offer us any compensation for our inconvenience. On the contrary they charged us the whole payment for 4 nights we have booked.
STAY AWAY!!!

This property was BEAUTIFUL! Beautiful hotel and rooms. The only thing is that there’s barely anything to do in it’s surroundings, and it’s deceiving since this is NOT in Napoli, it’s in Ercolano which is a 20 min car ride from Napoli.
Transportation from Napoli to Ercolano is very expensive, from 60-80€.
Although the hotel is amazing, if you are staying in Napoli; this is not convenient unless you are prepared to face the challenges of the transportation

The hotel clearly needs a complete renovation. The is no AC running in common areas despite it works quite well in the room

We were very apprehensive y after reading reviews but we have just ended a lovely stay! Our room was clean, had air conditioning and all we needed - including lots of space & a glorious view! It would have been lovely to have tea making facilities in the room, and hot water in the shower on the last day. The hotel has many wonderful historical features but is in need of some TLC! Nevertheless we had a lovely time. The pool was clean & quiet, the gardens were delightful and apart from checking out on the last day, service was great.
Breakfast was both simple but also had plenty of choices - croissants & pastries. However, it would have been good to see the milk & cheese being kept cooler/ covered. The staff were friendly & helpful.

This hotel is stunningly beautiful, albeit has clearly seen better days. In many ways this adds to the charm (and the price - if fully restored this would be MUCH more expensive I am sure)
The best thing though is the staff - incredibly helpful and friendly.
The location is a short distance from the amazing ruins at Herculaneum and convenient for restaurants in the small town of Ercolano and a short (and cheap) train ride from Pompeii and Napoli

Be aware!!!
Not all rooms decorated. The first offered us was nothing like the photos on Expedia site. Very poor standard and unfinished and unsafe.
Breakfast is substandard with out of date diary products served up. No hot food! Bread products often stale.
No iron or ironing board, take your own iron and no tea/coffee making facilities in the room either. Which you would expect from a hotel nowadays.
No bar, catering staff will serve beer and wine when serving evening meals. Outside those hours there is no service.
Evening meals, not much choice and poor standard. We ordered a hot pork and vegetable dish that was stone cold. Charged 12 Euros for that one plate of food. It was very poor quality.
The pool is open to the public, not the tranquil place as photographed on the site and very busy all day. Often the smell of Marijuana is present. Which only leaves the area when the hotel guests can use the pool in peace, at 7pm,. Which is when the pool is officially closed, apparently.
The gardens and building is very run down. and situated next to a busy main road. The traffic noise is constant throughout the day and night for 24 hrs.
Some of the serving staff were friendly. But was not enough to soften the underwhelming experience of staying in this hotel.
The photographs depict a tranquil hotel. It is not! Our whole Naples experience was spoilt by our Hotel stay.
I cannot recommend and should have a refund due to false representation on your website.

The hotel itself is magnificent and staff friendly BUT they hold "dinner with music" Friday and Saturday evenings in their restaurant - which meant out on the terrace beneath guest rooms and with very loud loudspeakers, causing an infernal din even with windows closed. This stopped around midnight but on the first occasion I could hear talking outside for at least another half hour.

Good historic hotel. Staff did not know the area well. The room was not well maintained and we appreciate its an old historic building but when the lights in the bathroom above the shower does not work is can be dangerous showering. The air-conditioning did not work and when we asked for it to be fixed they just kept saying the engineer is coning when they knew he wasn't because the had not contacted the engineer. just lying. One of the bedside lights was broken and instead of just replacing it they left it in the wardrobe. The in room safe did not work and we asked if could be fixed they refused.
We then asked if they could change our room and they again refused and after contacting Expedia they tried to talk to the hotel and were told if you don't like you can check out and find another hotel.
Its such a shame as the hotel it self is nice but they maintenance is terrible. I call their maintenance guy Manuel like in faulty towers as he really could not fix anything. He came to fix the light above the shower and I had to help him because he was clueless.
Avoid this hotel as its a nice but staff and maintenance completely useless. They would rather give you the run-around then help

Very disappointing. A beautiful hotel which has sren better days. Everything was very tired and neglected. Service was very poor. Had so many small problems they said they would sort, but they only eventually fixed the hot water. Had to complain 4 x times before they finally sorted. The Air con was useless and only mildly cooled the room which was roasting. Fridge again only mildly cooled food, did not keep it fresh. The bathroom door could not closed or opened due to previous water damage. A number of lights did not work or bulbs were spent. The table cover in the breakfast room were dirty and not changed.
On the plus, the food was good, the grounds peaceful. Plenty of seats to sit on.

My room was absolutely huge and airy. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here although the shower stools couldnt be used as they werent attached, and being disabled that 1 small detail would of made my stay heaven. The hotel is absolutely beautiful both inside and out. The staff were all extremely kind and helpful. The whole hotel was immaculately kept.
The outside park part is full of hidden gems, definitely a place to spend time exploring all the little payhways. I would recommend this hotel anytime. If i ever go back to Ercolano its the one i shall book again.

The hotel was a lovely mixture of oldy worldy charm and shabby chique and art decor all rolled into one which is showing its age. In its heyday it was probably stunning but a lack of investment means it's slightly falling apart at the seams. Having said that we loved it's grandeur and charm and would stay there again. The breakfast were great as were the staff, even when our table collapsed one breakfast sending milk and cornflakes everywhere . With views over the Bay of Naples the grounds were a fascinating mixture of plants and features again fairly neglected. Pity the swimming pool was out of operation too. Fascinating place and ideal for exploring this part of Italy.

We came down and were greeted with "no show" as we had changed the date of arrival from 14 to 15 May. they had not arranged this. we were left sitting without any help and they just ignored us. no service.
after a few hours, we got hold of Hotels.com, who sorted things out in the end. Very helpful,
The room was OK, but the shower did not work well, and the last few days there was no hot water
+ it's probably the worst and most boring breakfast I've ever had in a hotel.

We lost power to our room multiple times during our stay, not clean rooms, and staff who didnt seem to have a clue about anything. This stay was terrible, will never come back.

In its prime, you can see that it WAS a magnificent hotel/resort. Today it needs a lot of work. The photos on the website do not represent the hotel's condition today. There was limited staff and they were not accommodating.
The place is huge... but empty... Felt like we were staying at the hotel "The Shining", but in the rundown part of town vs. the mountains.

Miglio D'Oro Park Hotel is an old palazzo that has been converted into a comfortable hotel. It is true that it has seen better days but it offers excellent value for money, both as a hotel and restaurant. The rooms are the largest I have ever stayed in, the showers were good, the beds comfortable, everything was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was good but British guests might find that the breakfast options are a bit sweet for their tastes. As we were on a family trip, we had two rooms. The one at the back was quiet with nice views of the garden. The one at the front had enormous balconies with a nice sea view but the traffic noise took some getting used to. It is very convienently located for the ruins at Herculaneum.
5.0
Excellent hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful planning excursions. Our room was huge with plenty of space for three people and a handicapped scooter. Parking was safe and convenient. Location was only 3 blocks from the Herculaneum archeological site and close to restaurants. Breakfast was also very good. We loved the architecture of the hotel.
