Excellent value I

The hotel’s patio is nice. The pool is a plus and the terraza has beautiful views. The location was good. The rooms are not as nice as outside, just average.
We had problems with the bathrooms, clogged, the room I reserved was not available and did not even exist, No toilet paper or soap, we had to keep asking for it, and the sheets on the bed were dirty. Other than that it was ok.

Not bad

Magnificent location. Beautiful property. So convenient. Pool was romantically enchanting. Restaurant was wonderful. So popular too. One of two in only a few blocks walk. Lively setting and kind staff. The building is homey and with an Hacienda setting.

It smells really bad in the room couldn’t sleep for the first night I reported to the office.

Great stay over all! Friendly staff, hotel and restaurant. Clean, comfortable bed, great a/c, really nice rooftop pool and excellent happy hour, drinks and food. Only reason for less than excellent reviews were really hard pillows, no soap the first night, really worn towels and the toilet flusher was wonky - you had to alternate low flow and high flow every time. Great location - we will definitely stay there again!

Great location. Acceptable rooms for the price. Pool on roof is nice, as is the restaurant. Wifi was not good - everyone is sitting in the lobby trying to connect; connection from rooms virtually nothing. Staff are friendly. Lots of restaurants nearby and 2 minute walk to the Malecon/ocean.

Authentic mexican accommodation with pool, restaurant and bar. We keep going back for our base to explore what the puerto vallarta area has to offer!

Second stay in 2024. First stay was given 2 twin beds… this trip reserved one double. Was given two twins again. The hotel says they have WIFI… it just isn’t true! If you sit in the lobby you can get it. Anywhere else on property, good luck! My TV didn’t work more than 3 minutes before “Lost Signal” appears. The hotel is very basic and I knew it… but basic services that are listed need to really be provided.

Quaint, great location.

Very old authentic Mexican property, great history. Fantastic Staff. love this quaint hotel

Our room was very basic. The room with the WC was difficult to get in to. The WC and shower doors did not close. No window in room. The wardrobe had a offensive off gassing smell. No hooks for towels.

This property is located in my favorite area to visit in Puerto vallarta. The Zona romantica is unique neighborhood is full of adventure, culture and some of the best food in Vallarta.

Nice place clean far away enough from the party zone but walkable safe area

This place is absolutely fine if you read the description of the hotel and look at the rooms online before you book without doing your homework. I laugh at how outrageous some of the other reviews are written from a point of dissatisfaction. This is an affordable motel with the property and amenities matching the price you pay. It was good for my budget friendly vacation. The staff was very hospitable and nice and accommodated many things when we politely asked them without expectations of them complying. Bottom line, great place to stay for budget concerned people: DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS PLACE!!! Beautiful pool and deck, beautiful atrium, delicious food from onsite restaurant.

I liked this hotel because i was close to alot of things and experienced mexico on a more personal level. Beds are not comfortable but i didn't spend alot of time in my room..pool on roof top was nice but it is small. If you have expecations of alot of things try an all inclusive resort where they can offer these things to you. The staff were very nice to me, helped me when i asked for anything and were respectful of the things i kept in my room. It can be a little noisy so if your a light sleeper i would suggest downloading a sleep app to drown out the noises outside. I would stay here again but in a room with a double bed rather than 2 twin beds. Restaurant/bar by the pool serves great food and drinks and has a nice view.. i would say this is for open minded people..

Nice location. Older hotel.

Would never stay there ever again. Rooms overpriced for the condition. No security lock on door, paid for a room, but was given a lesser room but they still charged the same price. Hated every minute there.

This hotel is good for one most 2 nights , hot water is a problem , you run out of hot water often and wifi , you need to be by front desk to get signal

Our second time staying here. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very close to the markets. Shopping and restaurants. All walking distances. Internet isn’t the best though. And sometimes you have to wait a bit for the hot water for showers. Roof top pool is a plus.

I checked in at Encino, and then cancelled my stay there. I have stayed at encino many times, but this time they tried to put me into a cheap "center" room that looks into the center of the hotel - no outside window. They said that was all they had, after I had called them a week earlier and they promised an outside room. I WOULD NEVER EVER STAY THERE AGAIN, AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.

Amazing location and great staff! The location for this price is unbeatable, would highly recommend

It is a fabulous location for access to the Malecon/ocean, restaurants and other attractions, but it is definitely noisy! Street noise, but also from the restaurant bar on the 4th floor (which, however, was very convenient for a quick meal/cervesa). Our major frustration was that we were informed less than a week prior to our arrival that the pool was down for construction without providing any kind of alternative. So that was a super-bummer for us. Our room was clean and rustic and idiosyncratic in a way that you might expect from a 3-star Mexican hotel!

This hotel has mixed reviews from me. The staff was very friendly and helpful but the hotel needs many upgrades. Towels were old and scratchy. Bed linen actually had an old blood stain. No reading light near bed. Minimum hot water. BUT wifi, and TV and air conditioning was good. Location was terrific. In balance then. Good

Nice, inexpensive restaurant on property. Shady trees, right by the river, a couple blocks to the beach. A great option for low budget vacation.

I like the charming courtyard, good WIFI, free coffee and water each morning. The upstairs pool and patio were great. I like the bed. It was new and comfortable. Staff was really good and helpful. It was really relaxing.
I didn't like that my toilet broke and they didn't properly fix it. I would like a safe in my room to protect my belongings in the future. I know its a lot to ask but that would be a great addtion to the hotel.

It’s was clean noise was a lot at times wish there was a ice machine but over all it’s in a nice spot you can walk to everything and coffee shop on the corner

Hotel was as i expected. Spacious room. Pool on the roof was nice. Pool was slightly murky the first day but was clean after. Probably some black mold in the shower but its mexico... My Wife missed not having a hairdryer. That can be an easy add for the hotel. Beds were firm. Great location though. Easy access to the malecon.

It is not without its charm, but property is run down. The rooms are much smaller than they appear In The pics. There was only 1 power outlet in the room. The good part of this hotel is its location. We enjoyed being close to the Malecón.

The price was higher than Expedia promoted it. There were bugs in my room. I only had a twin bed when I thought was getting a full bed. The hot water only worked part of the time.

There seemed to be way too many people in the pool & area that actually stayed at the hotel. Didn't trust the cleanliness of the pool. Overall smell around the property day and night. So if you had your patio doors open, it was quite noticeable

It is a very old building. There is no sound-proofing or insulation. So when you sleep, you hear everything outside the building and inside. The interior is only made of concrete and paint.

We have been overnighting at the Encino for a couple years now. It's an older hotel in the old part of town. The service is always excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would rate the Encino as 8 out of ten. It's kind of hard to find if you're driving.

I had a very negative experience with the front desk. I lost my passport the day that I got there. A girl the checked me in found it. fell off the taxi. She didn’t let me know that she found it until the next day. I was very stressed out. When to the American consulate and fix everything. When I came back the girl gave the passport and told me that she found it. But she was to busy to take it back to my room. The next thing was that my room smell like dirty water I reported to the front desk and I t took 2 days to do something about it.

I like is close to everything, don't need a car or taxi!

The staff was amazing, super helpful, friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a great central location. A bit noisy with the nightlife happening around the hotel.

Humble lovely place in a perfect location and great price

This was the 4th time I stayed at the Encino! It's a no frills budget hotel (bed, TV, AC, hot water, mediocre wifi). A good value and right in the heart of everything!
2.0
No hot water at times. Only three single beds available for a couple on Valentine’s Day. Wi-Fi did not work. Clean towels were not returned. Front desk rude after requesting simple amenities. No security, regardless of bracelet anyone can walk onto the property.
