The highlight of our entire Costa Rican vacation!
4.6
We absolutely loved our stay. The hummingbirds were something else to watch at breakfast!
The staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was amazing. A fabulous stay

We recently visited Monteverde and had an amazing experience. The staff are very attentive to our needs and assist in a very timely manner. They are excellent with customer service. The restaurant views are just breathtaking as you can see Toucans, a variety of different Costa Rican birds, and zipliners.
(One minor recommendation is the rooms need to be updated and there is a lot of space and not very good utilization...)

Amazing views, beautiful property, friendly and helpful staff, spacious and clean rooms. Felt like a luxurious version of summer camp. Enjoyed everything about this hotel.
4.6
The grounds, service, room and restaurant were absolutely perfect!

Lovely 2 night stay at the Cloud Forest Lodge. Very comfortable room and huge shower room. Missed having coffee making facilities in the room, but that’s a pretty minor issue really. Loved having cocktails on the restaurant balcony while watching the sun set and all of our meals in the restaurant were absolutely excellent. Customer service was spot on.
We arranged 2 activities through reception:
- A night walk, which unfortunately was a complete waste of money
- Canopy zip lines, which was excellent and completely safe - although somewhat scary as it was extremely windy.

Literally in middle of forest. Spotted Capuchin monkeys, an Agoati and a band of Coatis.
Geat views from lodge restaurant which also served excellent food.
4.6
Quiet, modern room with lovely bedlinen and soft towels.
Only disappointment was no coffee making facilities in the room, although there was a coffee station for those requiring coffee before the restaurant opened,

Loved our stay. An amazing location in the heart of the Rainforest. Great food in the restaurant, very friendly staff and a real bonus that the original zip line tour is onsite.
4.6
What a great experience! Staff was wonderful, room was Uber clean and comfortable, and lodge was so special. Walking paths around property, guided night walks to see creatures was huge plus. Food was outstanding, creative and delicious!
4.6
Perfectly maintained and new property, rooms are very big with large balconies. Restaurant has best food that I had in Costa Rica.

Hotel is unique as it is tucked away from the center of town. Best option is a taxi considering the parking challenges in Monteverde. If you're on a tight budget, stay closer to a hotel closer to town. Boena rooms are VERY clean but do not have amenities like t.v. and coffee maker. They are serious about eco friendly with solar and have space heaters and heater was enough in Dec. No views from the rooms. With all this said, they have an awesome restaurant and a great view. They serve traditional Costs Rican dishes and I am a Foodie so be prepared for a wonderful experience. We didn't make it past the 3 appetizers. If you are served by waiter Randall, you are in for a treat as he will explain the local cuisine. There are several trails and a Zipline course that starts right on the property. We tried a different zipline but Boena's ZL is supposed to be started by the original founders. Stay here if you want a unique, off the grid experience physically (they do have a very fast Internet).

Very nice and upstanding service! I recommended it.

Very nice place to stay!

The property is very commercial. Rooms are like big halls, not hospitable at all. The bathroom is huge, appears that a large room was painted white and converted to a bathroom. There is no sense of warmth in these rooms that are completely uninviting, cold and dreary. Looks like a dorm. First hotel in Costa Rica with no coffee maker, kettle or frig in the room. Very basic furniture in a large room with no sense of architecture or planning. Minimal art on the wall. No amenities apart from basic soap, shampoo etc, hair dryer stopped working and sink clogged right away. The roads leading up to the property are basically non existent. They are like muddy trails with huge potholes. We actually saw a car stuck in a pothole in the rainy weather. Perhaps work on the roads when you are going to charge so much for the room? Hotel also tacked on a conservation charge per person, for protecting indigenous people. If the hotel wants to donate to these causes, how about you donate out of your profits, or make it part of the hotel charges up front? We were in Senda day prior and this was a complete let down. Will not be coming back.

I like no TV in the room. Very quiet resort . Nice rooms .

fantastic

Amazing! Beautifully designed, excellent food, superb service, with a canopy tour just 20 meters away and several easy hiking trails on the proporty. I hope to go back!

Great place. Super friendly staff and amazing property.
4.6
Such a wonderful place! The restaurant was fabulous and the staff were great. Beautiful grounds and area.
4.6
We had a great family time! The property is so nice and the surroundings are gorgeous. The quality of the resort and the location next to the Monteverde Cloud Forest makes is a great option.
4.6
I enjoyed staying at this hotel! The service was great and the property is stunning. My fav part was sitting around the fire place at night and spotting an armadillo!
4.6
We had two rooms, both rooms and bathrooms were large but very bare. There was no tv, minibar, couch, heating and air conditioning or air circulation. Rooms were cold and uninviting. The balcony sliding door would not lock and the phone was not working. The fire pit shown in the picture was covered up and not working. Restaurant staff was however very friendly and good, food was OK. It was way over priced. Would not stay there again.

We were on a trip to Costa Rica with our pregnant daughter & son-in-law. We wanted to see the cloud forest area, so I booked 2 nights at the Cloud Forest Lodge. It is an AMAZING place! The roads to get there are challenging, but worth it. The Lodge is located right where the clouds/fog from the rain forest just begin to dissapate. From the deck of the lodge, you can see the Pacific ocean - it's a beautiful view! It's a lot cooler up there, so having long pants and a jacket are a must. The wind comes howling down off the mountain, but it's a really special place. They have a fire pit out on the deck as well as inside the restaurant area. And the food and drinks were INCREDIBLE - they have an amazing chef. It was the best food we had on our trip! The service was also incredible - Joshua, Randal & Gabriel were SO friendly and gave us the best service of the trip. Joshua is the mixologist as well and his drinks were amazing. While there, we saw the cloud forest and went zip lining right from the hotel! We also took a night life walking tour and the Don Juan Coffee/Chocolate/Sugar Tour. Overall, the Lodge was a magical experience. However, have a 4-wheel-drive car. The road going to Tamarindo from there was one of the worst. Make sure you take the more major road, don't try to save time on a rocky, steep, unpaved road if you're heading to a beach on the Pacific afterward!

This was a clean and simple hotel, no view from the room to speak of. No TV or coffee in the room. The view from the restaurant is really beautiful and the rooftop at the restaurant is also breathtaking. Breakfast was good but we didn't enjoy dinner at all. Good clean basic no frills place to stay.

Great place, just opened at the end of 2022, spectacular service and great food
4.6
Nice people great views hot shower. All great
4.6
Great Eco friendly lodges besides a family zip lining activity. We had a great bonding time in family.
4.6
Should have heating for cold weather.
4.6
Nice staff ,clean rooms and very nature. Definitely a recommendation for friends.
4.6
A delightful cabin-style accommodation. My only complaint was the hard mattress. The staff was wonderful, the food quite good and the service friendly and timely. The views from the main lodge were astounding with birds, flowers and animals close. The road in is a challenge to walk so maybe a car or tour pickup is the best plan.
4.6
The location of the property is unique. Has its own jungle trails
4.6
Great place to see wildlife up close! The room was excellent. Amenities are excellent. The food at the restaurant is fine, but consider eating in town too. Breakfast and lunch were quite good. I highly recommend this lodge.
4.6
This hotel is outdated and needs a whole new facelift. Very limited staff and the food was not even worth the free breakfast.

Very friendly and helpful front desk and rear air at staff. Nice trails on the property. Food was lovely. The driveway needs a lot of work (they were working on it)

This property was absolutely gorgeous! Only a quick, even if a bit bumpy, trip into town but you feel so far removed from the busyness. The rooms are little cottages in pairs and there was plenty of room for our family of 4 (2 adults and kids 6 and 9). There are plenty of beautiful hiking trails on the property and you can do nighttime guided walks (saw lots of spiders, sleeping birds, frogs, and bugs) and canopy/zip-lining tours on the property (we didn't do this here but with Selvetura Tours). The staff is warm and welcoming. The breakfast traditional (rice & beans, eggs, plantain) or light (eggs, huge fruit plate, and pancakes) was included and there is a restaurant for lunch/dinner but we just ate in town. Don't miss sitting on the balcony for sunset while enjoying a drink/coffee/tea.
4.6
This property was totally unique due to its location in the cloud forest. We went Ziplining directly on the property, amazing trip and convenient too. We hiked the trails onsite and that was fun.

We spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica and stayed in 8 different hotels and lodges; this was the only place we did not like.
It's inconveniently far from town yet the least peaceful place I could imagine; constant ziplines, cars and tour busses in the parking lot immediately in front of our room, and loud partying groups of guests at all hours. Walls were paper thin, adding to the noise.
No lunch available and (very expensive) dinner starts at 6, so few food options for kids who want to eat earlier.
Restaurant seating is assigned and food is not good. If you want other food options, travel into town.
Hotel staff was rabid about covid rules for everyone... except for the huge group of 20 adults and kids (friends of the staff?) having a party in the main room with no masks or distancing.
After 1 hour in this place I politely asked about checking out the next day (2 days early) and was told they had no control over a refund, it was up to hotels.com. I checked with hotels.com who said it was no problem on their end. So we left after 1 night, expecting a refund for the other 2 nights. Two weeks later, guess what? Turns out it IS up to monteverde lodge, and they declined any sort of refund.
So to recap: terrible noise, facing a parking lot, expensive mediocre restaurant, extremely far from town so no other options, inconsistent covid policies, and dishonest management. Thank goodness our other 7 hotels in Costa Rica were supurb, this one was the worst.

It’s was awesome very efficient and comfortable amazing staff and amazing onsite restaurant and bar
