Loved it

5 Stars for what we're looking for. Ticked all the boxes for us: well kept, great service, clean & comfortable room, rooms have ocean views with balcony or patio, beach is steps away, 2 pools, and right in the heart of restaurants & nightlife.

Brilliant hotel. Organised my daughters wedding superbly.

A great hotel and terrific beach. Although hotel a little older than most, very well kept and clean. Great proximity to the beach as well as a number of restaurants in the GAP.

Great stay! Staff were beyond friendly/ helpful. My room was within steps from the beach. It was amazing.
My only complaint was there was no warm shower water (only cold). It seemed to be that way in the entire resort.
Otherwise amazing

Wr’ve stayed at various hotels and resorts over the last 15 years visiting Barbados, so we are very happy to rate this place as highly as we have.
A really beautiful setting, food was delicious, room was spacious and clean. Well equipped kitchenette; fabulous view over a pretty courtyard. All in all, a really lovely spot for our little family.
1.5
Hotel was nice and fairly clean but expect to spend 2 hours whenever you sit down for a meal. If you get up to ask for something you will be told to sit down and wait.

Beautiful beachfront hotel! Would stay here again!

Sunrises and sunset . The hotel has a lovely beach and the palm trees provide a beautiful view and plenty of shade. All the staff are lovely and do their best to please. The bed was very confortable and the everyting was very clean.
Downside - extremely slow wifi and poor connectivity and the property owner to the west likes to use the leaf blower very early in the morning .
2.5
Fantastic hotel in a fantastic location right on Dover Beach, everything about it is well done .

Because I booked my flight from St. Vincent to Barbados through Expedia and it was canceled. Expedia did a horrible job getting me rebooked on the next flight. In fact, there was space available but Expedia systems and staff could not/ would not get me rebooked on the same day. I prepaid for accommodations at Southern Palms and am now requesting a refund for 2 nights that I was unable to stay there because my Inter Caribbean flight was canceled and Expedia was unable to confirm in a timely manner the next flight. I was forced to find a hotel on St. Vincent and could not rebook (myself) until Momday. What a ruin of a vacation. :(

The location is fabulous

We loved the beach and location of the property. We disliked that there were no umbrellas available for the beach, and the rooms looked and felt tired.

Beautiful beach and room view. Good size room and bar sink was helpful. Friendly staff and appreciated the daily afternoon tea. A bit disappointed about lack of hair conditioner in toiletries. Main purpose of trip was snorkeling. Snorkeling is quite deep in the sea. Not easily accessible unless you are a strong swimmer. Had to go to Carlile bay to do this

This property is low and wide and the beach area is a direct reflection of that which is spectacular. My issue is this resort charges big boy prices but the service falls short, especially in the bar area. I really shouldn't have to go to the bar for every drink when there is supposed table service and ask for the table to be wiped down. And please stock the room kitchens properly. Having to ask for a coffee maker and then a spatula, and then a microwave or toast-r-oven (no dishwashers or ovens in these units), not providing scissors etc grows tiring.
Location and turtle watching are excellent.

The ocean view was exceptional! The property was neat & clean, and the staff was excellent! The bathroom shower needed "grab bars" for elderly or disabled customers.

I was accompanied by about a dozen others for a family reunion. Our biggest problem was the lack of Wy FI on the premises. We could not connumicate with each other by text. We could not sign on the covid related procedures without all convining in one room. Cell phone would not work in most locations. Floors were left very wet after mopping. Quality of dinners and lack of fresh seafood was a dissapointing issue.

Great location, on a really nice beach and close to a lot of restaurants, bars etc. Staff were a mix of really nice and slightly rude/unhelpful. The first room we were given looked like a dorm room with a shower the size of a very small closet. Although the balcony had a view of the beach, it definitely was not worth the price or anything like the photos online. Fortunately, we were able to change rooms and the room we ended up in was much better. We didn’t eat at the hotel restaurant/bar, not very lively, so can’t comment on the food. Overall, we had a good stay and would think about returning.

Hotel is a little tired looking. But the beach more than makes up for it.

The view was amazing and the beach was wonderful walk...staff very friendly and courteous.

Our room was nice with a small kitchen that was very useful. There is a convenience store right across the street as well as a restaurant and ATM. The location was perfect! Beautiful beach and great location in St Lawrence Gap~ walkable to restaurants and nightlife. Short taxi ride to many other near by beaches and activities.

The location of the hotel is beautiful, on a gorgeous sandy beach with clear calm water. The balconies are nice size and the room was nice enough, with a very comfortable mattress. Staff was friendly and they have a great happy hour at the oceanfront bar. This would have been a 4 or 5 star rating if it wasn't for our second night there.
We were there for two nights (Thursday and Friday) and on Friday night were subjected to the most awful karaoke from the outside bar across the street, not part of the property. We called the front desk to complain and it was obvious that this is a common complaint by guests. They told us the bar stays open until 1:00 am and there is nothing that can be done about it. Since this was 11:00 and it was blasting across the street to our room, my husband went over there and spoke with the owner of the bar, who couldn't have been ruder and refused to lower the volume of the 'music'. It went on until 1:00 and let me tell you, there is nothing worse than loud drunk karaoke! I find it hard to recommend this hotel based on the second night. I'm sure its a problem on Saturday nights too. Be aware.

The property has about 1000 yards of spectacular beach outside their large clean rooms. Also 2 pools. Palm trees provide some shade. Restaurant is very good and is beachside. Live music with a Steel Band or singers.
The St Lawrence Gap area has many other restaurants within easy walking distance and everyone has Happy hour.
Lots of fun and relaxation.

I love the character of the old colonial style buildings. where it falls short is the dining and drinking. The food is quiet expensive and service and quality is meh. I can deal with that since being on an island u dont typically get the highest. I wish it had a good bar though. There was not central spot where u just grabbed a drink and chatted with other travelers. The bar was a low bar and always empty. It feels dated. There were many things I liked though. The beach is great, courtyards and views nice, pool too. mostly just the food and drinking that falls short. There are other things in the area though so ur not limited to having to dine there.

Ocean view and beach fabulous. Staff very friendly.
Food good for casual lunch and dinners

I stayed for one night until friends arrived the next day and then stayed at a condo. The staff was very helpful. My room was 141. I could see the ocean from my front door. The room was nice, ac worked well, mini fridge. Fish cakes at the restaurant were very good. I would stay here again for sure. The grounds are lovely and the beach....awesome.

Pleasant efficient staff. Breakfast was good. Location just steps from St Lawrence Gap was very convenient

I didnt like that they were no micowave in the room, the television wasn't showing clearly and i had to complain about the toilet not functioning well a couple time , but i can say that the staff was excellent and the front desk clerk was very attentive and very helpful

This hotel is right on the beach, and also has 2 pools, one of which is very prettily lit at night. The wi-fi is good, and the grounds are well kept. The room was comfortable with a good view. The hotel is rather tired however, with the buildings, and walkways in need of a bit of TLC. There were a few irritations that the hotel could manage better. There is a safe in the room, but they charge an extra $3 (US) a day to use it. Also there is a tourist tax to pay on top of the room rate which is $19.95 (Barbados) per night. There is a kettle and a fridge, but no tea, coffee, milk etc in the room. The shower cubicle in the bathroom was very very small. Little annoyances that if sorted, would make for happier guests.

We had an excellent stay!! beautiful rooms, beach and the location is perfect.

Nice hotel close to the beach. Had a really positive experience from the reception staff. Very helpful on arrival and throughout the stay. Highly recommended.
2.5
Great location not in the total thick of the gap but a short (<5 mins) away from 5+ different restaurants.
The hotel staff were friendly.
The rooms are right off the beach - not available at all Gap hotels.
2.0
Nice hotel, close to the beach as well as other restaurants and bar. Staff was friendly. Area was safe.

great location. Hotel could use a little TLC and updates. MUST have umbrellas available for the beach. Staff is extremely nice.

St. Lawrence Gap has lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Plenty of shops, vendors and taxies.
The beach is beautiful and fairly long; the water was nice except when the winds came in and caused strong undertow and red flags came out.
Some of the staff at the hotel were pleasant and helpful, but many were not customer oriented causing long waits for service and sometimes ignoring your very presence.
2.0
The hotel is an older hotel right on a great beach and has 2 pools, and a restaurant on site. Entertainment 3 times per week which was pretty good. Geared to older adults as it is very quiet. Happy hour every night .Close to great places to eat. We really enjoyed Pure Ocean right next door ( part of the Divi)- setting was great - right on the beach and food was good.
BLISS Cafe a short walk away was great for breakfast and lunch.
Rooms are a bit tired but we stayed in the entry level price- but it was OK and clean.
