About this house rental
Our home is a beautiful Victorian home built in 1909 in downtown Bismarck. This is a classic 2 storey home with tons of character and charm. The house is very unique with many original details maintained. Our home is located just to the north of downtown Bismarck. You are within walking distance of many unique restaurants, bars, and boutiques. In a 5 minute drive you can be at the Bismarck Event Center or the State Capitol. We are a 5 minute drive to the picturesque Missouri River and all the activities that it has to offer.
THE SPACE:
The space is very unique with original Victorian character and details. The home is quirky and what you would expect from a turn of the century home. This 2-storey home features 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths and sleeps 6 people comfortably.
THE MAIN FLOOR:
The kitchen is well-appointed with all the amenities needed to cook a large family dinner. And a dishwasher to clean up the mess. The dining room offers a large oval dining table that seats 6 and has a unique Dutch door to the kitchen! The living room offers plenty of seating on an antique couch and 2 side chairs. There is no TV on the main floor. The original hardwood floors from 1909 have been refinished and add beauty to the space along with large windows that let the sunlight flood in.
There is a main floor bedroom with a queen bed with luxurious linens.
The main floor also has a half bath with sink, toilet, washer and dryer. We have provided laundry detergent and softener for guest use.
There is a lovely sun porch with hanging swing for your enjoyment and small 4-erson dining table just off the living room. This room is best enjoyed in the spring, summer, and fall as it is not heated.
THE SECOND FLOOR:
The second floor is accessed with a staircase in the entry of the home OR a second staircase off the living room. Both staircases turn, but are not true spiral, and are fairly steep (not appropriate for small children or mobility impaired adults).
Upstairs you will find a cute sitting room with TV outfitted with a Roku that can access all your streaming apps. There is free high-speed internet. We do not provide cable.
There are 2 bedrooms upstairs that both offer queen size beds. Both are dressed in soft white linens and are very comfortable. There is a small play room at the top of the stairs with children's toys.
The upstairs bathroom is gorgeous with a clawfoot tub and shower. We provide luxurious white towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and make up wipes as well as a hairdryer.
PARKING:
There is 1 off-street parking spot
GUEST ACCESS:
Guests will have access to the entire home. This is NOT a shared space. Stairs are steep. No children's gates.
UPDATES TO THE PROPERTY:
We have updated to new queen mattresses and headboards. We have removed area rugs due to staining. The living room has a new couch. The upstairs sitting room has a new loveseat. These changes are not represented in the photos. I will be having a new photo shoot soon! Rest assured the changes are major improvements!!

Our stay was wonderful. We felt quite at home. We were close to the sites we wanted to see. Are we overdue $140? We thought the second payment would be taken automatically.

I rented this property because my home was being repaired due to water damage. My out-of-state sisters were arriving with no place to host them in my Bismarck home. They enjoyed the quiet and comfy beds. Much of their time was spent with my husband and me as families do. I knew the property due to my friendship with the prior owners. Truly happy that I could see the home once more after Ann and Ron were gone.

Clean and comfortable

This house met our expectations. there are many modern updates in appliances, but much of the house is old as it was built over 100 years ago. Stairways are a bit tight and not suitable for older people that have trouble navigating tight quarters.

The property was just what we needed as a family.

This is a very unique property in the heart of Bismarck that is an adorable place to stay! The check-in process was effortless with a keypad entry and everything was ready for us. The home was clean and the beds were very comfy. It was a great place to bring our family as there were lots of spaces for each of us to hang out (young children were able to nap in the afternoons while we enjoyed the all-season porch area!). I would stay here again for sure!

This was a very cute home and was clean and well kept. It had everything we needed.

We are use to a little more amenities. No closet space in downstairs bedroom, or in downstairs area. No place to put your suitcases. No TV or entertainment on lower level. I think this I may be a better summer rental than winter! Victorian tradition was cute but not user friendly.

Very spacious for my family! My little girls loved the playroom upstairs and beds were comfy! Would stay again!

Stayed here with my family for the holiday! It was so cozy and really felt like home! The atmosphere and decor made it super welcoming and everyone had a great time! The only thing that could have made it better was if the kitchen had a mixer! I should have looked and made sure to bring a baby gate and a high chair but over all I would recommend this place to my friends and would consider staying again!!

We enjoyed out stay at this house. We were here from Californua for a family wedding. Great character and history of the home. A little too quiet for us, but we managed. Lots of amenities included. We were able to leave sime items in the refrigerator. Hopefully the next guests will enjoy! Checking in and out was so easy. We definitely recommend and would stay again. The only two items I would address is: the claw foot tub is nice, but a little slippery if not careful to get in and out. The shower curtain around the tub clings to your body. A little annoying while showering. The other item is that tbey request that you not where street shoes in the house. We respected that. Would have liked to have known that prior to our stay so we could prepare beforehand. It is a charming home. Lots of creaking of the stairs and floors, but that was expected in a lovely, old Victorian. Thank you for the stay!!

It was a well maintained, well appointed vintage house that was very comfortable. Could sleep six comfortably. Close to downtown and the church where we attended a wedding. The staircase could be a challenge for some, but no problem if careful.

We loved it very relaxing

Had alittle hard time reaching someone for the check in process but once we got in we loved the Doll house. It was close to my cousins house and great for walking everywhere. We attended my cousins daughters wedding. The house was very comfortable. Stairs were and adventure but what great character. Loved the history. We even timed our visit with the Open House for the governors house up the street. We can not wait for our next trip out to North Dakota. Thanks for sharing the doll hose with us.

Nice stay like living back in time

This house is really pretty. We enjoyed the history, the antiques, and the quirkiness of the home. The beds were comfy and the kitchen well stocked with dishes and cookware.
The stairways are not for the faint of heart, but we knew that from the description. They contributed to the homes character as it was built in early 1900’s.
The only recommendation I would make would be for the owner to add a wall shelf by the claw foot tub/shower to set shampoo and soap on. This would make showering so much easier. Also a wall hook to hang the hand towel by the sink. Otherwise, thanks for a wonderful stay. The central location made it feel close to everything.

The shower was a clawfoot tub, we all struggled a bit with nowhere to put shower items, but the water was hot and we were all ready on time! The stairs were difficult and the shower and 2 of the bedrooms are up there. Excellent host. Great communication.

This is a great location in the heart of Bismarck. The house is old and has lots of character. We had an issue with a circuit breaker going out and Leah was over right away. The beds were comfortable and it was clean. I’d stay again. Thanks Leah!
