I hate to post a bad review but having given the owners and agent the opportunity to respond to my concerns neither have taken any responsibility for the gravity of the issues.
The carpets were significantly degraded in extensive areas due to moth larvae. The most affected was the back bedroom where we found moths flying and larvae crawling across the bedding on several occasions. I woke in the night and found one crawling across the sheet very close to my face - an awful and avoidable experience. We have been advised that the owners did not know about the moths yet they were replacing the carpet the week after our stay.
The property information states that a smoke alarm and CO detector are fitted. We found that the CO detector had only 2 of 3 batteries fitted so is never going to work. The smoke alarm on the first floor had been removed completely. We did not see any other smoke alarms.
There was a smell of mould and damp, particularly in the basement toilet and lounge area, also at times in the kitchen/dining area. This had affected the soft furnishings and made it unpleasant to sit in these areas.
There was only enough hot water for 3 showers, which is not enough when the property is advertised as suitable for 5 people.
Kitchen was well stocked but not enough cutlery for 5 people. Plates, cutlery, glasses were grimy and needed to be washed before use.
No toilet brushes. This is very unpleasant, especially when sharing a house with others.

We had a fantastic two night stay at the property. Communication from booking through to check in was fantastic. We even received an email checking everything was ok on our first day.
The property was extremely well equipped and the beds were clean and comfortable. We did find some of the cutlery needed a clean before use as well as a few of the glasses.and mugs, but it was no hassle giving them a quick rinse.
We didn’t get to use the garden due to our stay being so short, which is a bit of a shame as it looked like a real sun trap and had ample seating - maybe next time!
The kitchen was extremely well equipped - not like a usual rental with cheap basic accessories- it had everything we needed and more.
The lounge basement area has a huge extremely comfortable L-shaped sofa and bar with fridge - so makes for a a fantastic social space for a group.
The property lies in the landing path for Heathrow and planes are quite low as they fly over. We did not find it to be too much of an issue but for light sleepers it could be at night. Whist flights do stop overnight they resume quite early.
Overall the property has everything we needed and surpassed our expectations -we found it to be clean, comfortable and in a fab location so would def stay again when re-visiting.
