Was not able to get in at 4:00. Deck was a mess on check in. Stairs, which is in the listing, were there, but narrowed at top making it difficult to have both hands full going up or down. Family gathering area is weak. Kitchen is very small. It is pet friendly, which is significant since there not many houses at Holden that are. It is very near the one car charger on the beach.

We had a great time staying in this location. The house had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our group of 17. We wished there were more dish and bath towels as well as beach towels provided, since we flew in and were not able to pack our own on the plane. The kitchen had plenty of pans and cooking utensils for a large group. Loved our time here!

Arrived at the house to spend the long Memorial Day weekend with family. We checked in Friday afternoon with a Tuesday morning checkout. On the surface, a beautiful house and great location. The problems started immediately. Sand in the bedsheets. It was as if the bedding had not been laundered and the beds simply made up after the previous visitors - disgusting. Saturday, the air conditioning died. It was brutal. While we intended to spend as much time at the beach as we could, we were constantly required to return so the property manager and HVAC repair crew could gain access. Very long story short, they had to replace the entire system which took the whole day and left the house temperature in the 80’s until around midnight. Sunday, the first floor ceiling below a second floor bathroom started to leak while someone showered. We called the property manager again who indicated it was a known issue and was “fixed” three months prior. He told us to just “move the furniture” from underneath the leak. There were lots of random dead bugs in the corners of most rooms. The kitchen was cloudy with fruit flies. We notified the property manager about the bugs and leaks immediately but nothing was ever done to address either. Being right on the beach was great but with the bugs, lack of AC, and the plumbing situation, we may as well have been in a tent. This place was far too expensive for what you get. Save your money and go camping instead.

Just the R&R i needed. House is great! We will be back for a longer stay next time

Great location. Kitchen could have been stocked a little better with large platters and serving bowls.
Bathrooms need more than 3 hooks for towels when there are 6 people using each upstairs bathroom. And next time I would take night lights.
All in all, it was a very pleasant stay.

The home was very spacious and clean with beautiful waterfront views.

The location of the property is literally in front the beach. We were there in January and we enjoyed flying kites. The property was equipped with basic kitchen ware. Location is everything!

Overall, we had an amazing stay. The shelling was incredible and we found many sharks teeth. The upstairs shower on the right side could not be used given there is a leak down to the lower floor into a ceiling light fixture. The heaters are a little hard to figure out, but we did. Overall, great house and location.

Overall the house was great and our entire group was satisfied. Being on the ocean and being in walking distance to a festival held under the bridge was great. The few questions I asked the management company via text message were answered quickly, which was a great help. Here are some suggestions to improve things:
add to check-in instructions that the key pad to unlock the property is at the top of the stairs (which you access only by opening an unlocked, closed door located in the center of the covered parking under the house), check the washing machine (during spin cycle tub wobbles and makes loud noise), one burner did not work on stove top, downstairs half-bath (door hard to close and swings into hallway restricting room to walk), downstairs master bathroom (walk-in shower has no place for soap, shampoo, etc, and there are no towel racks/holders anywhere in that bathroom). It would be nice to have blinds on the frosted glass in the double doors into the dual downstairs master bedrooms, so that in the AM if lights are turned on in the kitchen or den the bedrooms aren't getting that light. Thanks again for helping our family of eight have a great return visit to Holden Beach!

We loved this house and the location. We had two families and grandparents. House was roomy and we didn’t feel crowded at all. Bedrooms were great and the number of bathrooms was a plus. Very nice decks and walk to the beach.

The home was very nice, clean and the perfect location.

House was as listed. There were multiple issues with cleanliness. Spoke with owner about issues and he immediately had housekeeping return and he came as well. Owners were extremely responsive and even texted to check on us after the hurricane came through.

Salt on the Rim was the perfect find for our family! We are a group of 13, with kids from 10 to 1 year old, and 8 adults . The home was very spacious with a great layout. The 6 bedrooms, 8 beds, and 5 bathrooms was perfect for our group! The location couldn’t be better, and we loved the the deck & all its seating. If we weren’t on the beach looking for shells or playing in the waves, we were relaxing on the deck. The Booking process, check in, and check out were all very clear, and the house was VERY well cleaned :)
We ate at Castaways, Dock House, Mermaids Grill, and Provision Co. and enjoyed them all very much. Holden Beach is a great host and we literally had the perfect vacation !

Only issue was a water leak in ceiling of one of the bedrooms which led to water dripping on the bed and floor. Quick response from property manager but no remedy during our stay

Everything was good. Need towel racks in bathrooms.

Clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed sitting in the deck listening to the waves roll in.

This house is a great find. The house was clean and comfortable and the location can’t be beat.

Home was in good shape overall, a few things in need of repair due to wear and tear such as shelf in door or fridge cracked and doors to laundry area off tracks. Only disappointment was that there was no grill. Views were great and plenty of seating on deck overlooking the beach. Pleanty of room for everyone! We did have to have someone come out and fix a GFI that was stuck in interruption mode. Sent an email and they were super quick and responsive and sent someone right over.

This place was amazing! We stayed with two families of 4 for a total of 8 people. This house did not feel cramped at all! We all had more than enough space. They back decks were wonderful and the view was amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better spring break with friends and family!

Great house - well stocked kitchen. We loved the porch and direct beach access.

My family and I just completed our stay at “salt on the rim” and I must say the location exceeded our expectations. The house was exactly as advertised; the set up provided ample space for me and my family to gather to spend time together but also enough space to spread out when we wanted privacy. Everything you could need was provided from infant items, tons of cooking utensils (i.e multiple blenders, pressure cookers, crockpots, etc), to an outrageous amount of linens. The house was in a nice area and the kids adored the balcony and private walkway to the ocean. I only needed to reach out to management once and it’s when we first arrived to gain access inside; communication was a breeze and someone met us within minutes. I will definitely book again.
