Better standard needed

Room facilities were nice and so was pool area

Better standard expected for the price paid. Fridge in room wasn't cleaned from previous guest and there was a spill in it. Also, we used the hotels laundry service and when our clothes were ready we were by the pool and the person demanded payment immediately rather than at check out or later.

Value for money

Decent breakfast including fruits, Cornflex with milk, as well as changing day-by-day dishes (pancakes etc). Well renovated rooms, fish in aquarium and rabbits with the garden and the pool add the value to your stay. European pictures in the hotel make you feel like at home :)

The dinner in the restaurant could be prepared a bit better. Octopus was prepared dry like a kebab and without any additional vegetables. Probably photos to the menu could help the customers.

Lovely stay, amazing staf, wonderful place, will definitely come back!

It is a really nice hotel, I loved to stay here. This was my second stay, because the first time was so amazing I had to come back. The breakfast is delicious and various, the staf is very welcoming and helpful. They really look after you and are so friendly. The pool is a wonderful place to relax, is clean and peaceful. Very convenient that there is a washing machine for clothes (the hotel provides this service including soap for free!).

Guests are allowed to relax/consume food and drinks around the pool area till very late in the evening, which can cause some noise pollution in the surrounding rooms (it happened twice during my stay, so doesn’t happen very often but still). Maybe keep an eye on that and request them to relax at the bar area after a certain time?

Decent well situated boutique hotel in the heart of the action in Dar

Location was excellent and within close proximity of many areas of interest. Hotel was also quite clean overall and staff pleasant

They charged me extra over and above the rate I had on booking.com. The breakfast was quite basic

Value for money staying in Dar Es Salaam

Proper European type hotel with the good satisfying breakfast. Fish attraction and aquarium and rabbits provide additional value to the hotel.

The restaurant for the dinner has a good music, although the food quality could be better.

No frills hotel in a good area.

Simple, relatively no frills but friendly hotel. Inner garden was very pleasant, they are also working on a new bar inside the hotel that should be quite nice when finished.

Good value for money in a nice location.

The Hotel is located in a good location in the Masaki area - close to a lot of nice restaurants and beaches. The Hotel is very clean, comfortable and the staff extremely friendly. A big bonus was that they had free self-service laundry with detergents, which was very helpful. They also have check-out time at 12:00 noon which is quite nice.

The wi-fi was very bad. For a large part of my stay, it did not work at all. There was also an issue with the water supply during my stay. There was no running water in the bathroom for about two hours. But I think this was a one-off.

Efficient and friendly staff, clean and comfortable room Wonderful breakfast and excellent service from the dining room ladies The ability to order food via Piki was a bonus for a solo female who didn't want to be out alone after dark.

Wifi was patchy, slow at times, and not working at all on the last morning.

Put Kenyan Flag at the swimming pool,

FAILURE TO SEE THE KENYAN FLAG IN THE SWIMMING POOL.! THIS REALLY ANNOYED ME..... Brewed tea could do better, rather than mixing water and milk. I hate the tea dispenser. charging in dollars. Further, the hotel needs to appreciate repeat customers. No contact person in case one needs assistance. No verification of guests. No guidelines to guests on issues like, places to avoid

Best stay in Dar

Good location, nice sized pool with adequate loungers, good amount of parking. Friendly helpful staff fixed any issues that arose quickly with no hassle. Huge tv with Netflix. Air-con great. The rabbits and fish were a plus!

Excellent!

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Totara and even extended by a few days. The room was very clean, the bed was huge, lots of hot water, aircon, fan, super fast WiFi, and massive TV with Netflix, YouTube, Google Fire TV. The staff were amazing - courteous and kind - and the breakfast buffet delicious. It is a short 5 minute walk to the ocean and Slipway Complex in one direction, and the other direction are restaurants and bars like the famous Samaki Samaki. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

A nice hotel opposite a very nice quaint Pizza place that played our choice of Music to have dinner

Breakfast was very good and Afternoon Tea with cookies was a plus Amazing Koi on the Property and the outside Fountain was colourful and nice to see.. Staff were very good

The Bullfrog noise at night was load when I was trying to sleep so I had to move my Room which the Hotel accommodated, thank you.

Good for the price we paid

Bed was very large and confortabile. It is a good option, especially for the good report quality-price.

It was a mold smell în our room, and carpet în living was not clean. Breakfast was acceptabile, although we didnt find many dishes for our taste.

Nice hotel with amazing breakfast and free washing machine

Nice hotel with pool, small balcony, free washing machine, nice garden, and amazing breakfast.

Around the hotel is not much but a few minutes walk or a minute by taxi is the Samaki Samaki restaurant.

I liked the bed...it was big and comfortable...Tv had a good variety of channels. I loved the garden too... beautifully designed and gives the place that calm and therapeutic atmosphere ...very serene...

Smell of smoke in the room... consider having non smoking rooms or when smoking guests leave, please ventilate the rooms to the maximum.. Also they do not have a restaurant..they have an eating place where they serve tea and snacks throughout the day...so maybe a good thing to tell long staying guests at checking in so that they are able to order lunch and dinner early from nearby eateries...

Great stay in Dar es Salaam

Location is great in Oyster Bay, close to many offices and restaurants. Very convenient for us. They offered free laundry if you do it yourself, an amazing plus.

All round great accomadation, comfortable surroundings, great food and very friendly and helpful staff. I was very impressed. The view of the landscaped gardens with the goldfish was a very special treat

There were ants coming out from somewhere to the bed and on the walls even if the balcony door was opened, and no we didn't have any food inside. The ants just were there in the bed under the blanket and pillows.
