Built in 1912, this home is mostly original which gives character, yet it’s stocked full of modern comforts (ex. Virtual Reality headsets). It's located on a quiet street, 2 blocks from Vancouver's best cafes, restaurants and shops. A 10 min stroll to beautiful Kits Beach and a 15 min walk dwtn. This is a getaway retreat. **The lower level is accessed from an exterior door a few steps outside of the backdoor so it is not suitable for young children to sleep if parents are upstairs but ideal from any group that would appreciate the privacy of the lower level.

The Upper Level:

Solarium: Relax in our cozy solarium, featuring large rotating windows and picturesque views of an old moss-covered pear tree. It's the perfect spot for sipping coffee or working on your laptop.
Living Room: Step through the rustic door into a welcoming living room with two comfy couches, including a pull-out bed, a full dresser, and a big-screen TV equipped with Apple TV, Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video. This room makes a great fifth bedroom if needed.
Dining Room: Admire the light-filled dining room, accessible through 110-year-old French doors, boasting a large window, a 9-light chandelier, and a spacious dining table.
Bedrooms: Two similarly sized bedrooms offer vanity dressers, closets, house coats, bathrobes, slippers, bath products, and multiple USB charging ports.
Kitchen: Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen with appliances like blenders and a juicer, alongside essentials like cooking utensils, spices, and olive oil.
Laundry Room: A convenient laundry room adjoins the kitchen, equipped with a washer, dryer, and dishwasher.

Modern Design with a Cozy Touch: Experience the sleek and contemporary feel of our newly renovated basement, offering a delightful contrast to the upstairs' vintage charm. The downstairs area is characterized by lower ceilings and some low-hanging beams, creating a cozy ambiance. It's intimate and spacious in the horizontal aspect, making it a great space for most - though perhaps not the best fit for NBA players!
Spacious Bedrooms: The basement bedrooms are more spacious, one of which has as a private office area, perfect for private workspace.
Common Area: The large common area is equipped with a mini-fridge, water cooler, and entertainment options like VR headsets and games - ideal for relaxation and fun.
Fourth Bedroom: This unique bedroom, adjacent to the games area, is separated by a divider and beaded doorway, offering a third private area within the home.
Bathroom: The lower bathroom showcases an original 112-year-old refinished wood wall and is equipped with a sink and toilet. A tub and shower are scheduled for installation by the end of January 2024 (message to confirm if the shower finished before your stay).

My first experience using VRBO.The host made it a pleasure from start to finish. The location is perfect, walking distance to everything and the house was spacious, clean and had more than I expected in a rental. I have already recommended it to my Vancouver friends for when they have out-of-town guests who need a place to stay.

Awesome location, quiet street in great neighbourhood. Sunny long weekend so we spent lots of time relaxing in the backyard which is very big and green. House was clean, check in easy, lots of towels, cooking oil, spices etc. Everything we needed and in a wonderful neighbourhood. Hope to stay here again, had a great time and truly no complaints.

Location was my initial draw to this house and it delivered in spades!!! Nestled in every flavor of shopping you could ever want with lil groceries with bagels, berries and coffee a-plenty! Sunset walks on the beach heavenly and spying on the Bard players. Such a perfect kick-off for our family Alaska cruise adventure. I even snuck a quick drive out to UBC to try and influence the college bound teens in our group of (beautiful) campus life. The downstairs are definitely low ceilings but the kids loved the games. Great fun gathering around the big dining room table for our bagel feast especially for our chance to reunite after many years apart. Thanks for the fabulous memories.

Our family of 6 stayed here for 5 wonderful days. The house is very well set up for families, with lots of kid-friendly activities provided. Our kids especially loved the badminton and the gaming station downstairs. The location was perfect for our needs - close to our Kitsilano family, Kit’s Beach, playgrounds and Granville Island. Our host was extremely responsive and seemed to have thought of everything that we might need to make sure we had a great stay. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time! The house was great! Clean, everyone had their own bed, lots of fun games for the kids and family, and the solarium was delightful to hang out in with morning coffee or a night cap in the evening. The location was fabulous! We walked to the beach, Granville Island, and loads of restaurants and shopping just blocks away. It was such a great central location, we would 10/10 stay there again. The host was also great! Very communicative and close by. He even met us for check in. Highly recommend this property for your next trip to Vancouver.

This was the most well-appointed VRBO we've ever visited. John was communicative and gave clear instructions about where to park and how to check in. We felt welcomed as soon as we set foot inside. The house is cozy and feels like a true home vs. one of those antiseptic "air space"-style flips. Thank you for the lovely stay! We would love to stay here again.

In a wonderful neighbourhood in Vancouver, this 1912 small house provides a taste of what was with all the modern conveniences. We found nothing lacking!! Actually the opposite, the host went overboard in providing extra little things you don’t usually find in rentals

What a beautiful house! Such character and a homely feel. We loved it. The sun room was a particular favourite. Kent had supplied everything you could possibly need and more-from snacks and drinks to bicycles and games. He was very helpful and communication was good. We loved his doggo Oreo who visited with him. The house is in a lovely area with all kinds of amenities nearby: shops, coffee shops, eateries, the beach and the lido. Good transport links to the city too. We would love to stay again.

We loved the yard, our kids played with the badminton net and the bikes provided were great. The outdoor seating area was perfect for BBQ and dinner and was always nice and cool. So close to Kits beach!!

This is certainly one of the most well equipped rentals I have stayed in and these touches were so appreciated when coming to the end of a long trip away with a toddler - very well stocked drinks and store cupboard supplies, kitchen equipment and toiletries/loads of towels/robes and slippers. The house itself has a lot of character as you’d expect from an old property, but was very clean indeed. Location was so convenient for shopping and beach. Kent couldn’t have been a more accommodating host - all in all a superb experience and would not hesitate book again when next over from the UK.

The house is so cute and comfortable, and the location is incredible. Everything was provided, from the expected towels and dishes to even snacks, umbrellas, and cloth grocery bags. It felt like being at home. There were so many restaurants within walking distance, plus a grocery store nearby. It was perfectly situated between UBC (the main purpose of our trip) and the fun touristy area of downtown + Stanley Park + Granville Island. The owner of the rental gave us a tour when we arrived, but he also had a binder in the house with all the information about the amenities and how to contact him if necessary. We couldn't have asked for anything better.

Historical home in the heart of Kitsilano. Clean and well maintained. I loved that I could bring my dog however be aware that the yard is unfenced. The host provided an assortment of complimentary drinks in the fridge for me to enjoy. The kitchen was well stocked. The family room has a large TV with several complimentary options (netflix, etc). Overall a great stay and I hope to stay there again sometime! For those with skittish dogs like mine, this home is located in a relatively busy area of Kits where there are a lot of people walking and driving by and my dog was a scared by all that activity (we live in a quiet suburban area). My dog managed ok but I thought others with skittish dogs may want to know.

John is very friendly and polite. Coordinating the booking with him was easy and quite straight-forward. The house is everything as described. It is very roomy and contains all of the amenities you could possibly need. The host is also flexible to many requests and staying arrangements. Overall, the stay was amazing. I definitely recommend!

I can't say enough about this beautiful home. The hosts were very welcoming both in person and leaving treats and beautiful toiletries. The house was spotless with lots of character. The location is perfect, close to great shopping and restaurants on W4th Street, withGranville Island and downtown Vancouver nearby. My family will be returning!

This rental was phenomenal, and communicating with the property manager was smooth and simple. Getting to downtown was easy, and the amenities in the rental were top notch. Didn’t get to try the provided Epsom salts, but next time definitely!
