This is a terrific house with an amazing view. LOVED the big porch with the coffee table fireplace. The kitchen was thoroughly stocked for cooking. The important things were very clean (bathrooms, kitchen, bedding) but I took off a star because the floors weren’t.
There was also a glaring safety issue that needs to be addressed- the bottom floor suite is accessible by a staircase with 14+ steps and there is no handrail.
That being said, this was still a great vacation home and I would book it again if a railing was installed.

The house was so perfect for us 2 old folks ! We only used the main floor, because it was all flat entry ,no stairs. We didn't even look at the loft or lower floor. The house is beautiful with lots of thoughtful touches every where. Only thing I'd recommend is to lower the water heater temp, because it was very scalding hot, and if poss. move the mailbox up the hill. The views were great ! Would highly recommend this VRBO !!!

A short drive just outside the town of Hiawassee, we turned into a narrow road that climbed up the side of Lake Chatuge to the driveway of Chatuge Chalet. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the Georgia mountain breeze and smell of spring pine. The driveway of the house offers ample space for a large SUV and entry was easy via the keypad door lock. The house was very clean and offers plenty of natural light. You have a peek at the lake from the deck and can see the mountains in the distance across the way. The kitchen has plenty of prep space for family dinners and they even have a coffee grinder if you bring whole bean coffee. The bathrooms were well stocked with clean towels and even included soap and shampoo should you forget something. The second bedroom upstairs was a loft with two beds and a privacy screen that can be folded out. Downstairs was comfortable with a third bedroom and it's own bathroom. Adjacent that area was the game room with foosball and connect-4. We enjoyed the gas fire pit on the balcony outside while enjoying the mountain views.

We were in town for a funeral and decided to stay all weekend. The house is beautiful and super close to town. We even have pizza delivered the first night! The wrap around porches were perfect spot to have our morning coffee. Would definitely stay there again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The chalet was was very clean and beautifully set up. The decks were a favorite the fire table was used several times the views were amazing.! We even saw several deer during our stay.. There was plenty of everything you needed. All the beds were super cozy. and location was perfect. The kids enjoyed the downstairs foosball and catching football in the driveway. A sidenote, the yard is a little steeper than you realize so if you have little ones that may be a factor, but overall great for bigger kids. We are still talking about our stay in Hiawassee highly recommend staying in the chalet. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
