About this house rental
Sitting in a prime position at the south end of Aldeburgh's vibrant high street within easy reach of the shops, restaurants, yacht club, beach and marshes, this pretty cottage retains all the character of bygone years combined with a modern bathroom and kitchen - perfect for a seaside holiday or romantic getaway at any time of the year with a quaint garden and cosy open fire.
Interiors are decorated in a charming coastal cottage style with a sociable open plan living/kitchen/dining room on the
GROUND FLOOR
You’re welcomed directly into the open plan living/kitchen/dining room with a rear hall giving access to the garden and shower room. Living space is carpeted and tiles run through the rest of the ground floor.
LIVING/KITCHEN/BREAKFAST ROOM
A charming room which has been cleverly divided so you can chat between the cosy sitting area and practical kitchen, equipped for catering at home if you wish. A couple of double sofas and coffee tables are positioned so you can make the most of the open fire and watch the TV which has Freesat, a DVD from the stack in the cupboard, or simply curl up with your choice of book from the shelves. There’s a drop leaf table by the window with three chairs and a stool for mealtimes.
Step down to the kitchen which has a tiled workspace, an electric free-standing oven with separate grill and four rings; a microwave, fridge (no ice box), a washer/dryer, kettle and toaster. There’s a little cupboard housing a few games (including the fun Aldeburgh version of Monopoly) and extra storage space.
SHOWER ROOM
Sitting at the back of the cottage. The shower cubicle has a hand held shower and there’s a Victorian style wash basin under the window, a WC, and heated towel rail with towels provided.
UPSTAIRS
A door from the kitchen area opens to steep carpeted stairs which turn and rise to a little first floor landing where you’ll find the doors to both bedrooms. Being a period cottage the stairs are typically steep and not suited for guests with a mobility issue or little guests, but there is a handrail on the left to steady you. Both bedrooms are carpeted.
MAIN BEDROOM
The king size bed takes pride of place between bedside tables in this pretty bedroom. There’s ample space for you to unpack and settle in with shelves and hanging space in the two wardrobes; and a generous chest of drawers with a luggage rack for your case and a Lloyd Loom chair in the corner.
GARDEN BEDROOM
Sitting quietly at the back overlooking the garden and marshes beyond, this room is furnished with a 4ft bed, a bedside table, clothes rack, and a wardrobe with plenty of hangers.
OUTSIDE
This mid-terraced cottage is at the far end of town conveniently close to Fort Green Car park. There are no parking restrictions on the high street in front of No 277 so you may be lucky and find parking there and can enjoy exploring the town, beach and marshes on foot. There's a paved garden at the back (with access to the neighbouring cottage) where you can enjoy your morning coffee or favourite tipple at the end of the day. Please note that dogs are not allowed.
