I had minimal expectations as the cost was nice and low. The staff were super friendly. There was a dog barking next to us for a bit. We left for dinner and came back and made a comment at the front desk. They said they had remedied the situation already. We had a nice quiet stay for a great price. Will go back again when in that neck of the woods.

The hotel exterior looks very rough. Staff was friendly. Lobby & rooms were clean and neat. No phone in the room, even though booklet to ‘call 0 for assistance’ so outdated info & no staff at desk when returned to room in evening to ask questions. There was a fridge, micro & coffee maker On hotels.ca it said breakfast was included- it was NOT No cold water from bathroom faucet- only hot. Tub faucet dripped constantly We put the Do Not Disturb on our door when we left our room, as we didn’t want any one in it when we were not. The 2nd evening we came back after being out for the afternoon to sign off door, fresh towels & all lights off- (we’d left them on b/c the light switch was in an awkward spot & didn’t want to come in to darkness as we had the night before) so that was very annoying.

Room was great and restaurant good. Free breakfast was very good. Hotel is conveniently located. 7 11 across street, Mcdonalds, burger place..all practically next door. All staff very nice and proffesional. Would highly recommend it and if back we will definitely stay here.very dog friendly as well so our 2 were happy also.

I stayed here for a few days on a recent business trip. The staff is wonderful, the restaurant is very good. I liked the place but to be honest the rooms are pretty plain. My room was in bad need of more electrical outlets. The rooms are clean and fairly comfortable but are pretty dated. I would stay here again as the staff is as good as it can get.

Understanding that this is an old property, they need to do some renovations including replacing windows so that they can be opened. Staff was lovely.

Would stay here again

The property is definitely old and worn but the room was nice and clean. The only real issue that we had was that it is advertised there is a bar located on site but it actually closed over a year ago and has not re-opened. This was one of the things I looked for in booking my stay and we ended up having to walk elsewhere for this.

Comfortable and clean. Very friendly staff as well as hot breakfast. The only thing to complain about is the tobacco/cigarette odor in the room toilet.

When you send your children to school it's soon clear that the most important thing is the teacher, not the building. At the Tamarack in Rocky Mountain House, the hotel itself was clean and well kept, the room was large and comfortable with an excellent bed. However, it was the staff who made our stay memorable. Samantha greeted us with enthusiasm at the front desk, made us welcome and after we checked in asked if we were happy with our room. In the morning we were treated to a generous and freshly made breakfast served by Sonja who is clearly a "morning person" and a charming woman. Meghan arranged for box lunches for our day in the mountains. The cleaning staff and the maintenance person all greeted us on our return at the end of the day and we enjoyed another night at the hotel. We're thinking there must be some excellent management at the Tamarack as they are hiring people who are not only competent and friendly but also enjoy working there. We give our stay there 5 stars. By the way, Samantha suggested we go to the Copper Creek Bistro in town for coffee and pie and the pie was outstanding. Here's a photo:
