About this house rental

Welcome to the beach life. Newer home 1 block from the beach. Beautifully decorated 5 bedroom 4 1/2 bath home just waiting for you to experience the best of the beach life. Sleeps 14. A 2 person elevator is available.

Giant kitchen with upscale Thermador appliances, refrigerator, 6 burner range and double oven, microwave, dishwasher, KitchenAid under counter ice maker and an oversized island. Fully stocked dinnerware setting, glassware, cooking accessories and everything needed to cook the dream vacation meal.

Each bedroom (bunk room excluded) has a full bathroom and wall mounted 42" Smart TV. Bunk room has 3 twin beds and 1 full bed, a wall mounted 42" Smart TV and a large selection of board games to keep the kids busy.

Living room has an electric fireplace, leather recliners and a 65" Smart TV. A queen size Murphy bed has been added in the living room for additional sleeping arrangements and comes with a fold up desk. View the beach from the dining room table that seats 10.

Take in views of the sunrise on the back porch. The home has 4 balconies with 2 Adirondack chairs and a small table on each deck. The main back balcony has 2 Adirondack chairs, 1 small table and 2 rocking Adirondack chairs. We recently added a latched gate on the main back deck for added safety. Sip a coffee or cocktail and just enjoy the views from any balcony.

Outside in the garage, have a seat in the lawn furniture while someone cooks your favorite meal with the gas barbecue. After a day at the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower. We have also included a Tesla charger in the garage for any electric vehicle that needs charging.

We stayed for my daughters dance competition and it fit all of our guests perfectly so it doubled as a family reunion also!

Property was beautiful and clean. The elevator was great for my elderly parents. One of the problems was in the master bedroom, sun is very bright and blinds don't help. Mosquitoes were very bad. Overall a great place for a large group.

This property was fabulous. It was very well equipped. (except for paper products, only 1 roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. And only one roll of paper towel). We could have used some spray cleaner to clean and wipe counters after meals. Overall it was great! Plenty of beach toys and chairs. If you have a big group, stay here.

This is the fourth reunion we have rented property. This time we required an elevator to the ground floor...all turning 80 this year.... The house was perfect!

We had an awesome time, the home has everything you may need and more.The traveling items available were a nice and helpful touch (sun tan ,Advil ,Off etc).The wagons and beach toys were great.My sons loved that the grill was connected to the house gas ,no propane to worry about.The ice maker was fantastic.

Great property. Beautiful views, quiet neighborhood. Very relaxing The internet TV service in the primary bedroom would occasionally have issues. This was minor, overall it was an excellent experience. Would stay there again.

My husband and I, our daughter and her husband and three kids took a 3-day visit to Galveston pre-Christmas just to spend quality time together. The house is amazing and everyone loved staying at Drift Away. The house is in a beautiful neighborhood with the beach a 3 or 4 minute walk to the beach. It is a short drive to Moody Gardens, downtown Galveston and historic homes. We loved the decor of the house and sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine and listening to ocean. We all agreed (from 12 to 70) that we needed to visit again and stay at Drift Away. Thank you to Eric for being a gracious host. We loved our stay!!!

Loved this house!!! So beautiful and clean. Perfect spot for our family Christmas. Mattresses are always our biggest complaint when we travel and every bed in the house was so nice and comfortable. Easy to get to food/fun but neighborhood is really quiet and out of the way. Owners are really kind and provided a little welcome gift knowing we were celebrating a hard first Christmas without my in-laws. Would absolutely rent again!

Neighborhood safe. Location to things to great! Communication with host and property manager top notch! The home is absolutely amazing!!!! Our group was blown away!!! When deciding on a rental I scoured reviews to try to find the perfect place. I don’t usually leave reviews but this home deserves recognition. We are definitely coming back!!!! We booked Driftaway this year for our annual October family outing to Galveston. What a great experience and great home. The home had everything we needed and wanted and more. The five bedroom layout with lots of space was perfect for our 6 adults and 6 grandchildren. Home was so well stocked and lots of beach toys for the kids. We can't wait to come back next October. Had a wonderful time, great beach access, and the home is very comfortable and beautiful. It was a refreshing experience. The home is well stocked, communications with owner and property manager were quick and helpful, and everything was very inviting. Appreciated the elevator for access. Hope to stay again soon.

Had a family get together with our two daughter's families including 5 grandkids aged 9 to 13. We were all "wowed" when we entered the house. Gorgeous house and so well stocked. So many wonderful things about the house including an elevator (great for bringing boxes, suitcases, etc. up and down to the cars...easier and safer, too), top notch Weber BBQ grill which lit very easily, lots of beach supplies (chairs, umbrellas, lots and lots of beach toys for kids, plenty of boogie boards and two carts to haul things to the beach), a kitchen that was stocked better than any of our houses back home, a refrigerator we all want at our houses, comfortable beds, top notch washer/dryer, more TVs than I could count, games, garage space to park 3 cars out of the sun, lots of room within the house and did I mention gorgeous? We had the best time and the house/amenities clearly made our memories sweeter.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Driftaway. It was so comfortable for all 11 of us. We had young all the way to 80 years old, who appreciated the elevator. All rooms are perfect and the couch has recliners for everyone! Loved the beach chairs, wagons, umbrella and toys. A perfect place to stay.

It was a beautiful place!!! It was so nice that beach chairs, sand toys, and wagons were provided for the beach!! Our little granddaughter cried when we left because she didn’t want to leave “her” house! It was so adorable!! I was wondering what the measurements of your living room, kitchen and dining areas is all together because the space was great!! We are looking to add on and I wanted to measure it before we left but forgot to. Thanks again!!!

This home is perfection - perfect size for our large group, perfect location and access to the beach, perfectly thought out and stocked with EVERYTHING you could possibly need! The ice maker was a nice amenity for filling coolers for the beach. Beach toys, towels and wagons were so nice to have. Eric was very responsive to any inquiries and my granddaughters loved the sweet gift basket he had sent over for them. We highly recommend this property if you have a large group in Galveston.

Beautiful home with great amenities. Loved the kitchen - great high end appliances and ice maker, master bedroom/bath on 3rd floor, plus everything needed to have a relaxing time at the very nearby beach ( less than 2 min walk). Stayed here for the elevator needed for BIL with ALS. Worked out well for him. Great neighborhood. Highly recommend this vacation rental home.

We are long time friends with kids who have grown up together. Getting everyone together for a few days at the beach was just fabulous! Our children loved the house, the beach and the memories made. We were comfortable, safe and enjoyed the house and amenities. Host was pleasant to deal with and we had no trouble at all while we were there. Hope to return! Loved our days away!

Beyond our expectations! A Beautiful, classy home and neighborhood. Walking distance from the beach! All bedrooms had their own ensuites. Master bedroom was exquisite. All furniture, linens, dishes, cookware, etc. were top rate. Porches and decks were a great addition. The private elevator was a wonderful addition as well. Loved the furniture in the family room, dining room and all bedrooms. The host was thoughtful with all amenities. My husband earned his Doctorate from UTMB and we used this vacation home as our homebase to attend the ceremony and celebrate. Would absolutely rent again. The home was just as advertised and the home owner and property manager communicated well.

My husband, 3 children and sister-in-law stayed in this immaculate beach house to celebrate spring break & my son & husbands joint bday. We loved the location and the top of the line kitchen was fully stocked. The master bedroom & bathroom are a dream! The house is beautifully decorated and we will definitely be back!
