I like the host a lot.
At first glimpse everything looked nice, but there was no AC and the rooms were too hot a night. It wasn’t comfortable at all and we even met a guy who moved from there the next day because it was impossible to sleep at night with the heat. The kitchen wasn’t nice - a lot of the things seemed dirty and there were barely no space.

Nice guesthouse tucked away in a quiet part of Moyagalpa. Rooms were big and confortable, nice outdoor space to sit out and relax. In the village but still feels you are in the country side. Host was sound out, did the La Concecption hike with him and was really good
Kitchen could do with a few extra utencils (Spatuala, egg slice etc.)

This place was amazing value! The room was spotless, spacious and the 2 fans worked a dream. The courtyard area was really cute and there will be hammocks there soon too. 7 min walk from the ferry terminal helped us catch the 6am ferry back to the mainland. This is the best value place/pleasant surprise of our trip!

The kitchen is new and well equipped. The garden is nice to hang out in. The location is good if you want to catch/come from the ferry.
One of the towels we got had a lot of big stains on it so we couldn't use it.

Nice and quite location, close to the ferry terminal, The owner is such a cool guy, he provided all the necessary information on how to reach the place without any problems. Nice kitchen. The room is spacious with en suit bathroom, really reasonable price and honest information about the tours, we rented the bikes and explored the whole island. Nice and clean. Safe neighbourhood. Really cool vibe about this place.
Although there were 2 fans provided in the room, it just got really hot and humid but that was because the weather was extremely hot. Overall really enjoyed our stay.

It was a really affordable, clean and new hostel with friendly and helpful host. Great to have secure parking on the property, although perhaps in winter the rough track maybe would have been difficult with our small car. The room was really nice but very basic (perhaps a hook in the bathroom and a table to put things would have made it perfect). The kitchen was clean and had a lot of pans but it was missing some implements to cook with (spatulas etc). We had a really nice time there and appreciated all of Danilo's recommendations.

Really nice clean room, comfy beds, powerful shower, fast wifi, kitchen available for use. The outside area is very pretty.
The owners were brilliant, really friendly, offered some great advice and helped to organise bikes, they will also book trips.
The room got very hot despite the fans. The shower isn’t heated (normal for the area). The hostel is great but where it is new it’s lacking some finishing touches that would really help e.g kitchen utensils, bathroom hooks, a chair in room etc. None of this is an issue but could be improved over time.

Danilo is an extremly helpfull and likeable host. We enjoyed our stay at this Hostel a lot. The kitchen is well equipped and you can cook on your own to safe some money. Danilo will provide you with infos and tipps for activities on the island and you can as well rent a scooter or book a volcano-tour directly with him, which is super comfortable.

- great location
- clean & new
- nice kitchen
- large room
- good service (talked to the owner a lot, very friendly guy who speaks English and helps you with anything)
Highly recommend this place! It's a very great value for money!
- extra trashbin in the room would have been nice
- spatula in the kitchen would help, but making an omelette with a spoon went just fine ;)

Danilo at el Rustico is a great host. He speaks really good English and is actually the English teacher at a local school for grades 1-6. He arranged a motor scooter for me at a discounted rate from the place in town. I went to his school0 with him to teach the kids some English.
My first impression of the hotel was that it is very clean. He takes really good care of mopping the floors and wiping things down. I later got to know some of the other residents and had a great day on a motorscooter with a motorcyclist that had traveled with his bike from Quebec.
I highly recommend this hostel. I felt safe here.

This place is great! Well-located - just a five minute walk from the ferry landing pier in Moyogalpa - with clean comfortable rooms (with en-suite shower) a well-equipped kitchen and very safe and secure. What really makes the difference is Danilo (“El Rustico”), the owner, who is charming - full of life, kindness and goodwill. He’s only recently opened the place and deserves to do well. It’s on Google maps, but can be slightly difficult to find - the fault of Google who, for some reason, don’t show the full strip of road from where you take the short path to the entrance - but do persevere (or drop Danilo a WhatsApp if you are struggling) - you won’t regret it!

Good location. Walking distance to many nice restaurants in central town. Owner is fantastically friendly and helpful. Clean.
Communal kitchen and fridge. We stayed for 5 nights which was a decent amount of time to see Ometepe. Renting a motorcycle or scooter is more or less required to do stuff on the island.
Our rooms were facing south and there was not much protection from the sun so our rooms got very hot during the day and remained so during night even though we had 2 fans. A marquis or increased ventilation could’ve helped.
The hostel was very new (only open a few weeks when we stayed) and some things weren’t yet fully complete. Kitchen was very nice but missing important items like pots, water boiler etc. There was no sign on the street yet so a little hard to find.

Danielo has done a great job of providing all the basics in this brand new, sparkling clean hostel.
Rooms are very sparsely furnished, it would be good to have a small table between the beds and a few hooks or hangers for clothes and towels.

The hostel has only been open for 6 weeks, so it's very much a work in progress. Danilo has some nice ideas and I like that he's deliberately leaving it "rustic." The bed was the comfiest that I've slept in so far in my month of travelling. Thanks, Danilo. Good luck in your new venture!
There is a kitchen, but don't expect to be able to make full meals here just yet. There are a few things missing that it really needs e.g. a kettle and some saucepans (only frying pans and 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 mugs etc). Like I said, it's a new hostel and he's still in the process of setting it up. It's hard to find too, but a good location once you know where it is.

Property just started so few reviews but won’t take long to be highly rated, best furnished kitchen with new utensils, clean and spacious room with private bathroom, nice patio facing the garden where you can chill, park securely car/scooter and chat with other guests and obviously with Danilo the owner which is the best part of it. helpful and friendly, felt like a friend. I would definitely go back! Dale Rustico! Tuani!
was not easy to locate as no signals, but they are working on it, so for now follow the GPS and ask around

The Rustic House has just been opened, so everything is nice and new. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The owner, Danilo is super nice, always finds some time to have a chat with guests and give some recommendations and tips.
There is also well-equipped kitchen for the guests. Location is very good, few minutes walk from the pier or central plaza.
