About this house rental
Spectacular views of the morning sunrises + captivating egrets in a private lagoon looking over Narragansett Bay. Step down off the rolling lawn to sandy bottom warm water + slide onto your floatie... away you go. Or, wade in past the minnows hundreds of feet until you reach the chill of deep water. Beautiful, high-end finishes, furniture and amenities in this very private cottage. This home is designed + appointed for mature guests only. It is my own personal hideaway for stepping off into peace and serenity.
The sandy, private community beach is maybe 1/4 mile down the road. A lot of folks just walk down in their bathing suits with their towels.... Yet, you can swim in front of our house. The water is 50 feet away, down three (can be slippery) rock steps....to a sandy bottom lagoon. Almost heated pool temp, you can walk out probably 60 feet to deeper water. Then, it deepens to cooler water. Its insanely beautiful water. Want big waves? .... Iconic Narragansett Beach...13 minute drive. Surfers on end, swimmers on the other + beautiful water !
I'm a cyclist + leave from the house 30 miles round-trip to Pt Judith lighthouse + the Block Island ferry. You can also bike into Wickford Village. Roads are easy to bike with broad shoulders on the road (one hill is big, yet worthy if you head down to 'Gansett).. You can rent bikes from my favorite shop NBX (922 Boston Neck Rd, Narragansett,).
I run our nearby by hiking trail it John H. Chafee Rome Point Preserve (1344 Boston Neck Rd, North Kingstown). Depending on the day, you can watch seals, get lost in the woods, or hike through to the rocky beach.
Best grocery store is Dave's Fresh Market Place (125 Tower Hill Rd, North Kingstown, RI)....7-10 minute drive. The cottage is extremely well stocked with condiments, mixers, basics....
Wickford Village is wonderful for shopping, dining, historical architecture and fun. I was over yesterday visiting the Kayak Center that rents kayaks, sups and pedal-boards that are so cool !! They have a fun, fun, fun event called Tuesday Tacos, where they take guests out in the Wickford Harbor on pedal boards and then head over to great little restaurant) for tacos. Tates is also a sweet little Italian restaurant and Shayna's Place a wonderful way to start the morning. Also, if your looking for the FRESHEST seafood, Gardeners Seafood at the end of main street on the wharf has an incredible selection of seafood, both prepped and off the boat. My newest favorite is Wickford on the Water offering a full bar and yummy casual menu. They have an equally great little spot, in Jamestown (JB's on the Water) with hands-down the best view of Newport Bridge and indoor as well as outdoor dining.
We host adult guests only. WE DO NOT HOST or ALLOW CHILDREN VISITORS in our home, due to building structure, personal decor and proximity to the water/rocks. Thanks for understanding.
For longer stays over a week, we have a complimentary mid-stay linen/towel change and light cleaning.

The house was as pictured in the listing and did not disappoint. Every amenity you could ask for was provided. The location for us was perfect. We were on the water and close enough to everything without being in the center of the hub bub.

We had a fabulous time during our stay. The home is even more beautiful in person! Amy was a great host and her attention to detail was evident . She was available through every step of the process... just a text or a phone call away. She was very friendly, and had great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. Although the weather did not cooperate the whole week, we did enjoy some beautiful scenery and especially the morning sunrise. This was by far one of our best vacations. We will definitely be back! Thanks again for a great experience, Amy! Pam G. and Family

This place was perfect. The view of the water was awesome. We really enjoyed sitting out by the water in the evenings, we also took the paddle board out for a spin. The kitchen is well stocked so we were able to cook a few meals in. Everything was comfortable, just like being at home. Lots of blankets, pillows, towels and dimmers on all the lights to make it extra cozy at night. And the little groundhogs were an added bonus and fun to watch. Hope to be back!

We had a wonderful stay ! This property is exceptional , wonderful views of the water from all windows! The house is immaculate, decorated beautifully, and the best stocked home I have ever stayed in ! Amy is very accommodating and provided lots of recommendations for restaurants, as well as things to do in the area!
The neighborhood is lovely and there is a small beach a short walk down the road. Be sure to take the ferry to Newport from Jamestown , we loved seeing all the boats and is a very pleasant short ride ! The house is in a great location, very centrally located , right next to Wickford, and close to Jamestown, Narragansett and Newport !
I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet relaxing vacation in a beautiful spot !!!

Stayed at the Minnows while attending the Senior US Open in Newport. It was conveniently located for Newport and close to Wickford Village and Jamestown for dining and shopping, and Jamestown Ferry. Amy was a great communicator, attentive to every need, proactive and very accommodating, offering us the option to extend our stay when a last minute opening came available.
If you're looking is this area, this home has it all and if its available, book it!

Staying on the coast in the Minnows was a treat!
The house was clean and beautiful, and Amy went over and beyond to be a great host. She responded promptly to every question and need, and stocked the house with food staples that were more than we’ve ever seen in a rental home- it was very much appreciated.
The views were great, but rain kept us off the deck for a few days and we didn’t use the grill. Thankfully the kitchen had everything we needed.
Be aware that the main bedroom has skylights that allow sunshine to enter at sunrise- and the room heats up quickly. Pack your eye masks! The A/C worked in our favor for comfort.
It was a pleasure to stay at this beautiful home!

This was our second stay in this wonderful cottage. The views are amazing, the neighborhood quiet and well located for beaches etc. Out of the many homes we have rented over the years, this one is a GEM! The many “extras” Amy provides is incredible.

The pictures show the great view of the bay and the pictures don't lie. You're right on the water, so the view can be enjoyed from both inside and outside the house. The house may have been the cleanest rental we've ever stayed at. Everything you need is there, whether it's coffee, other beverages, or all the condiments you may want. Plus, there's a large amount of spices available. The kitchen appliances are top of the line and it's obvious that the host has given a lot of thought to decor and making sure guests are very pleased.

The property is clean, recently, renovated and decorated nicely. It is in a great neighborhood and easy to get to. The view is fantastic! Be aware, there is no bathroom in the upstairs bedroom. We are very likely to return to this property.

We had a great stay! The location is beautiful and the neighborhood is very nice. The house looks newly renovated and was very well appointed and stocked. Great place for a couple or two couple getaway. The host was very easy to reach and did a good job of being helpful and informative without intruding on our stay. Would gladly stay here again if in the area.

The house is a beautiful and well maintained waterside cottage on a quiet cove in Rhode Island. The house is on the water with great swimming, relaxing watching the herons and ospreys hunt for fish and just watching the tide go in and out. It’s perfect for a relaxing stay. The home has a beautiful decor with stunning views of the water and has everything you would possibly need during your stay
Amy is a great host and is very happy to offer recommendations for local restaurants and shops. We will definitely rent again and highly recommend,

The home is very nice and well stocked, but the beautiful view is what makes this place special. Amy made sure that the home had whatever I needed and she was always available to answer any questions. I’ve been renting condos and homes for many years and Amy was the best host I’ve ever had.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Minnows! The house is so pretty and charming, clean and comfortable, just as it's pictured. It is located on the bay, with stunning views from each room. From the beautifully kept home with all amenities including water toys to the fantastic view with captivating sunrises, Amy's place felt like home and vacation simultaneously. Amy was a true pleasure to communicate with for advice on local adventures to help guide our time in Rhode Island. My husband and I have been staying in VRBO homes for close to 20 years so we have experienced many different places. We would not hesitate to return to this home, in fact we might do just that:-)

Everything about the stay was perfect - the communication, the location (You can't get closer to the water!), the extreme cleanliness of the house and the amenities too! Great hosts - fast in communication and available whenever needed. Looking forward to the next visit!
