My condo is a two bedroom, two baths, fully furnished with everything needed, such as kitchen supplies, all Appliances , Towels, wash cloths, Sheets. Security alarm for your safety. TV with DVD to watch movies. etc. It is a mile from town and the taxis will cost you $2.00 each way. This is a fairly new development and there is still a few units for sale. The Community building has a complete gym. the town of Cotacachi is often called leather town, because it has very nice leather products, such as purses, wallets, Belts, etc. this development sits between two inactive Volcanoes . This wonderful development is full of friendly people, and the condos here are lovely. The views are awesome, over looking the city lights and the beautiful volcanoes. You will never want to leave. maid service if you want it. The Taxis cost from Quito airport to my Condo. It is approximately one and half hour ride. There are many things to do and see in this area of Ecuador. Water falls, Hot mineral Springs, known as the healing baths. 15 minutes to Octavolo where the indigenous market is located. Checkin was a bit of a pain because we arrived very late opening the lock boxes for the keys were a pain, but even though it was nearly midnight the manager answered right away. Loved the changing views out over the town and the volcano, totally amazing. My favorite place when in the condo was in front of the livingroom window. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the locals are warm and friendly. It's easy to get around town on foot but the walk from the condo is a bit of a trek, however, taxis are around two dollars if you get tired. Ecuador is a wonderful place to visit and Jahua Pacha is a great place to stay.

This condo, in a gated community, is comfortable, spacious, quiet, adequately equipped, and, on the surface, clean. The Wifi is strong; I did restore it once by unplugging it for a minute- a trick learned in previous rentals. The view across the valley to the volcanic mountain is splendid. The 40 minute walk to town center is hilly, passes through an interesting agricultural village and is well served by taxis.
Upon arrival, we followed the emailed instructions for accessing the community and the building but the key lock boxes were difficult to open- seemed stuck.. Fortunately we were arriving in the day lit afternoon, and the Canadian neighbour helped us out.
The neighbours in the community are friendly but unobtrusive; we enjoyed using the frequent and comfortable buses for transportation and a means of seeing the countryside.

The environment was lovely. The property was beautifully cared for and looked like an English Garden. There was excellent security and the people living there were welcoming and helpful. We had wonderful fires in the evenings. Everything we needed was available.

The condo is beautiful and very spacious, clean and well equipped. It is in a very secure and quiet gated development outside of Cotacachi. Upon our arrival there were flowers, water and fruit waiting for us which was much appreciated after a 17 hour travel day. The view is spectacular! It is about a 25 minute walk into town or a $2.00 taxi ride. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our month long vacation in Cotacachi. The views from the condo were spectacular and ever changing. There really is a lot to do in Cotacachi and surrounding villages and cities. We enjoyed the walk into town and back and did it every day. We did run into a problem with the Internet and the propane, and trying to look for solutions in the three ring binder was a bit of a nightmare. It just needs to be updated with current and correct information and phone numbers. The neighbors at the condo were very welcoming and helpful.

These condos are units of 4 and ours was on the top left; lovely neighbors right below, others traveling. Interior design reminded me of medieval keeps with a very large, open living room, dining room, kitchen with at least 20 foot ceilings, some skylights, and lots of dark beams and dark wood through out. We did not need the fireplace, but it was nice to have. The master bedroom was huge, gorgeous, and the bathroom very nice with jets in the tub as well as a great shower. I took the guest bedroom, also very large, bathroom just out the door, so available to guests as well. The only drawback was that the tap water could not be used for cooking because the well had become contaminated with ecoli. Of course, we only used bottled water for drinking, cooking, and brushing our teeth. I do hope the Home Owners Association will remedy this as soon as possible. The enclave, call Jauha Pacha, was a kilometer from downtown, a walk downhill through homes of indigenous Quecha people, then a climb of 4 blocks to the bus terminal and market.By taxi, it was just $2.50 from our door.Cotacachi is only about 10,000 people, the leather capital of the country, so shopping was fun and prices were quite reasonable. One of our favorite days was spent with a local guide who took us to the villages where we saw weavers starting with raw wool and finishing with gorgeous shawls, blankets, bags, and more. We also got to go to a local artist who does amazing wall hangings in designs both modern or native. Also that afternoon, we went to see the family that makes the range of flutes and other instruments; they did a concert for us and have toured all over Europe and South America. Lastly he took us to a 300-year-old hacienda, owned by the same family for generations, where we had an excellent upscale lunch. This tour was just $25.00 each, so find Luis at his store just across from the Cotacachi bus terminal. We loved being in this interesting small town.

Jahua Pacha is a very nice small community in the hills overlooking Cotacachi. It is not easy to find, the first time, if you are in a rental car, and we simply paid a taxi to "lead us there". GPS doesn't help much, either, too many in-named roads!
They are very security conscious, and getting in to the property proved to be a bit of a chore. But once we had gained access it was worth the effort. The residents (typically expats from USA and Canada) are warm, friendly and very welcoming. Be sure to go to "happy hour" on "the bench" at 3pm daily!.
The apartment is very nice... fairly well equipped... but the hot water can be a little hit or miss. The overall preparation of the apartment for our arrival left a little to be desired.
The locals advised us that the best place for dinner in Cotacachi was "La Mirage". They were right... it is a spectacular dining experience.
Overall, our party of four had a wonderful time staying at this property for four nights and we will surely return!

The place we stayed in was perfect, clean with high end finishing. The short walk into town helps set the stage for a perfect day of exploring site seeing and dining. I would defiantly stay there again and would recommend anyone else to do so.

The apartment was located in a very nice and scenic location above the city of Cotacachi. The views were great and the city interesting. This was our second time in Cotacachi and we enjoyed every minute in the city. The issues with the apartment were that we were given a different unit than what we had reserved. The apartment that we reserved looked to be better furnished (I'm only basing that on the pictures that were posted on this site). I spoke with Ms. Young about it and she told me there had been a leak in the unit that we reserved so we were changed to another unit. I was happy with her explanation but I wished that had been communicated to me with out me having to ask. The second issue was that when we arrived on the first day at about 5:00pm we had no hot water. That night we waited on a plumber to come and fix the problem. When we went to bed the hot water was working but when we got up the next morning we again had no hot water. We again had to wait in the apartment until the plumber arrived which wasn't until about 1:00pm. So half of our first full day was wasted on waiting on a plumber to fix a problem that I believe should have been recognized and addressed prior to our arrival. The problem was with the water heater. Cindy and her husband Tim (residents in the complex) were a huge help during our stay and we greatly appreciate their efforts. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the apartment met our needs. We look forward to our next trip to Cotacachi.
