We enjoyed very much our relaxed stay at the former shepards hut. The house is situated in a lemon orchard with great view down the hills to Cascais in a very private area. We used to sit either at lunch in the halfshade on the terrace at the big table with the table cloth swinging in the wind, on the walled sun-terrace surrounded by lizards, at the lunch and dinner at the round table in the light space inside or the living with some good books next to the fire place. The kitchen has all what you need.

We had the best time, such a great spot and Maria was so helpful. A beautiful area and a good holiday all round. Highly recommend this villa and we will be booking to stay here again.

This was my favorite place I have ever stayed. Ever. The view was unparalleled, it was equidistant between Sintra, Cascais, and Lisbon. Maria, the host, could not have been more charming and helpful. I read a review that criticized how difficult it was to get to the property. Look, if you want to stay in a city hotel, stay in a city hotel. This is rustic, beautiful, and I miss it already.

We stayed there for three days. The house is spacious, and atmospheric. Very nice experience to stay at this place. Gracious hosts.

Booked 6 nights. Place hard to get in, narrow roads and step hills, far away from civilization. Place has 2 buildings, booked both, but later they said bigger one isn't available and offered small refund with option to stay in the smaller one. It's listed for sleeps 8, but there are only 1 twin bed and 1 queen in bedroom, 1 twin bed in living room, so only 4 people can sleep total. Everything is old, one of restroom is outside of the building, yes, yes outside. No closets at all, no place for your stuff. On day time it's getting hot inside and there is no air condition, just open windows. Path to building from parking lot is like hiking trail without concrete or paved surface. Once we got there we called the owner to say we won't stay, they said it's OK, we can leave and will get a refund. We lost one day of our vacation, booked another house on Vrbo to have a prove that we don't lye and change our plans. Next day owner said that we won't get refund and can come back to stay. We said it doesn't work like this because they promised the refund, they said NO REFUND. We called Vrbo they said to ask refund from host because Vrbo can't do nothing in this case. So Vrbo doesn't have power to get you money back and the host will not give you the refund also. So think twice before book on Vrbo and be prepared to loose your money if you don't like something. We call this place as a SCAM because if something is wrong you are hopeless to get your money back, even a part, and they know it.
