About this cabin rental
Secluded family camp set back approximately 35 feet from deep water ocean. Enjoy watching working lobster boats while looking at a view of Cadillac Mountain, in Acadia National Park, from the enclosed porch. The camp sleeps seven. One bedroom has a double bed, the living room has a futon and there are two small bed enclosures; one with bunk beds and the other with a single bed. The kitchen is equipped with a full stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and plenty of baking and cooking utensils. There is also satellite TV and a VCR.
The camp is located close to many hiking/biking trails. Schoodic Point, part of Acadia National Park, is just a short drive and Bar Harbor is about a one-hour drive, unless you would like to take the passenger ferry from Winter Harbor. Eastport is roughly one-hour further east and offers many quaint shops and whale watching tours. Pigeon Hill Reserve is roughly a ten-minute drive.
You are more than welcome to bring kayaks, or rent your own, and they can be left on a flat granite shelf in front of the camp. You can paddle the bay where you often see porpoise, seals, and bald eagles. Life jackets are required by law. The camp is very private with woods on three sides and the bay in front.
Campobello, Canada is roughly a one-hour drive away so bring your passports to tour the Roosevelt Cottage and enjoy seafood at the island restaurants.
There are a few lobster co-ops and private lobster pounds nearby and a massage therapist less than 10 minutes away. The Downeast Sunrise Trail, a multi-use 225-mile trail, from Ellsworth to Ayer’s Junction is just a short drive away with many on-road connections. Check it out on Facebook for more information about the trail.
