Nerja and it's surrounding area is built on a fertile coastal plain, surrounded by the spectacular Almijara mountain range which account very much for Nerja's well-known ' Micro Climate'. So, inclines are to be expected folks!
Coast/Beach: Nerja and the surrounding area offer any number of beautiful beaches. There are separate beaches designated for naturists.
The stunningly beautiful town of Nerja itself has grown over the years from a small coastal fishing village into the smart resort it now is. Nerja's development has been very carefully overseen in order to keep it special.
Nerja with it's nine beaches is without the high rise skyline so very typical of the resorts further west. From the whitewashed narrow streets of the old quarter with it's tapas bars and front door fruit and vegetable stalls to modern hotels and high street brand name shops and a diverse choice of quality restaurants. Nerja embraces the very best of old and modern Spain.
The flavour of Nerja is that of a sophisticated holiday town aimed at discerning travellers who want quality , choice and the unique experience of the real Spain.
As with any Spanish town, Nerja is really 'child-friendly'.
Skiing: Nerja is only one to one and a half hours by car away from the skiing resort of Sierra Nevada. There you will find everything you could ever want for skiing whatever your level of competance! A bus service to the ski slopes including the facility to hire equipment at discounted prices is organised in the season on a weekly basis by the town of Nerja.
Golf, Walking and more: There are numerous golf courses in the immediate vicinity but, be aware that some courses may ask for details of your playing handicap if you are to use the course.
Generally, the area is one of outstanding natural beauty with rolling hills against a backdrop of impressive mountains all around. Nerja is surrounded by the 'National Park of the Sierra Almijara and Axarquia'. Within easy walking distance are just so many picturesque well-documented walks suitable for walkers at all levels from the beginner to the most experienced. There are also any number of guided walks on offer or, why not consider an 'Adventure day out' - this involves 4x4 off-road driving coupled with walks led by an experienced guide ( lunch included), we have all the details you need.
Off-road biking, conducted 'Mountain biking in the Axarquia', quad biking (helmets etc., provided) along with cycling, horse riding, snorkeling, jet-skiing and diving (PADI) , all readily available locally - your choice!
Last, but by no means least, don't forget the famous tourist attraction which is the 'Caves of Nerja' - this the second most popular tourist attraction in all of Spain and really is a 'must-do attraction' !

We have just got back from our holiday it was brilliant!
Nic & Nancy 5+ stars with their accommodation for being such helpful genuine hosts. Nothing was to much trouble. We will keep in touch.
I must say the aircon was such a relief as the weather was hot.
Look forward to seeing Nic & Nancy on our return.
Thank you.

Nice apartment but some items need updating. The sofa was a futon/sofa bed, not good to sit on if you suffer with spinal problems. 2 armchairs they are great if you’re a small person. Not really anywhere comfortable to sit in the evenings. Air con in the lounge didn’t work properly and when it did work it was blowing out hot air. The owners were lovely and couldn’t fault them in any way.

Nic and Nancy are truly exceptional hosts. Nic arranged pickup and dropoff at the airport, which took a great deal of pressure off of us.
The pools are great and the bus stop is just below our rental... I would use the bus. We did and it is not hard at all. Also, the office at the location will help you quite a bit; we saw many attractions and it is due to the office. All in all it was a great trip! PS. The super mercado is right there!

Thank you to Nic and Nancy for everything

The property is a lovely place with a beautiful garden, a sea view at the gate-and little geckos to watch. It’s easy to get around using the local bus it’s just 1€ to get into town. Nic is a brilliant host he certainly helps out all he can and is very quick in answering any questions. I would certainly recommend the home and host.

What a great week , excellent property with a great sun trap big enough for everyone to relax in. Everything you need (and more) for a self catering break. Tv has lots of channels. The main bedroom is massive, toilet and shower are as nice as you’ll find in any top hotel. Situated in a complex that has 3 lovely and well looked after pools. Close to all amenities and transport. Only 40 minute walk or 5 minutes bus ride to the world famous Nerja caves. Can’t thank our host Nic enough, he was only a phone call or text away. Thanks Nic for a lovely stay. Definitely be back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nic and Nancy’s apartment. We loved the outside space which attracted the sun at lunchtime and the whole area was super quiet which was great. We didn’t have a car but Burriana beach was a 15 min walk and a walk into town was approx 20-25 mins, so I’d suggest hiring a car if you’re not keen on walking!

Very nice place and a friendly host, Nic!
A little bit to far from beach, so we often took taxi home in the evening, low price and easy to Catch one from taxi zon. Many, many good Restaurangs, espacially a Nepal restaurang, and El Refugua and La Bottega.

Lovely apartment. Good location. 15 mins stroll from Burriana beach and 20 mins to Nerja town centre. Fantastic garden space, very large bedroom, great air con. Host Nic couldn't have been more helpful. Organised taxis to and from airport. Was at the end of the phone if needed.

Stayed with our 1yr old boy, the property was perfect, very clean and well equipped, situated in a quite village just on the outskirts but close enough to the main town. Nic was a great host and provided us with all the info we needed before and during our stay. Our son loved the pools and Nerja is a lovely town with plenty of great beaches, bars and restaurants. Had a fantastic holiday. Thanks

First of all I'd like to say that Nic and Nancy could not have been more helpful and friendly. They have been so flexible during recent travel uncertainties and provided lots of useful information and tips for our stay during the Christmas and New Year period, including finding out local restaurant and supermarket opening times for us, providing menus and telephone numbers and generally sharing their knowledge. They were very attentive, answered all our questions promptly, and made sure we were absolutely happy with all arrangements.
We stayed in the one-bedroom villa in El Capistrano pueblo. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, nicely furnished and well-equipped. The walkway to the entrance is private and the south-facing, walled terrace provided a lovely spot for meals and lounging (table and chairs, sun loungers, pretty garden border). The villa is located very conveniently close to two big supermarkets (Mercadona and Carrefour), both just a few minutes walk away, and a bus stop for town is nearby (although we hired a car and had no trouble parking on site). We had lovely meals in nearby restaurants, both just a few minutes walk away (La Brasería Ibérica at Hotel Los Arcos across the road and Las Fuentes) on evenings when we didn't want to go into town. Good lunches on the beach at Burriana too (walking distance if you don't mind uphill back!)
Capistrano village itself is beautiful; I never tire of meandering the pathways and terraces between the different levels of properties and stumbling across hidden swimming pools or marvelling at the orange and purple climbing plants offset against the white walls and blue sky (especially welcome in December!)
We had a lovely winter break here and cannot recommend our hosts highly enough. Thank you Nic and Nancy!

Nic & Nancy are fabulous hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and so friendly to chat to.
The apartment itself is a one bed, which is huge. Nice big wardrobe and chest.of drawers.
In the living area it has a big sofa bed that allows for an extra person to stay.
Kitchen is fully fitted with everything you need to cook meals/snacks.
There is a courtyard style garden at the back with loungers and table & chairs.
Both rooms have air con which has been pre set.
The apartment is at the front of the village so easy to get to the big supermarket - not having to walk the huge hill with bags is a massive bonus. There is a bus stop on the road and one that runs through the village. Taxis are well versed to where to pick you up also.
Few minutes walk to the pool which has a pool bar, restaurant and lots of loungers.
Kids loved the pool and endless ice creams.
Thanks for a lovely stay!
