About this house rental
Vacationland Retreat! Newly renovated, luxurious, 3 bedroom/3 bathroom, waterfront house located in the center of Southern Maine's Lakes and Mountains region, offers more adventure than you can fit into one lifetime! Perfect for all families.
This house is one of only a handful on the picturesque pond. You will have your own, private, shalow lake entry, private wooden dock to use and a floating dock (with built-in loungers!) to swim to, and sunbathe on! Our pristine pond is ideal for swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing and more. It is small enough that big boats (over 6 HP) are not allowed. That means your peace and quiet won't be interrupted by loud, busy boat traffic typical of large lakes.
The architectural charm of arts and crafts of this bungalow opens into a relaxing, modern oasis. An open floor plan means easy conversation whether you are cooking, entertaining, or reading one of our many books by the gas fireplace.
First floor: Primary suite with water views, brand new, gorgeous "lighthouse oak'' hardwood look-alike floors, and en-suite bathroom with shower, tub, and double granite vanity. Guest room also has water views, and brand new ''lighthouse oak'' floors. A full bathroom with granite counter tops and a shower off the adjacent hallway. Each bedroom features dresser, hamper, and many hangers for your convenience. Hallway closet features stackable washer/dryer with folding area. Fully equipped chef's kitchen is flooded with light from windows and a skylight. Granite counter tops include eat-in breakfast bar and separate dry bar, perfect for pouring cocktails or setting up your charging stations. Dining room has seating for 8 people. The main entry leads to a roomy foyer with oversized windows to pull your focus to the water views that continue onto a back deck. Custom woodwork on the banister-a showpiece.
Second floor: Kids bedroom with 4 twin beds, desk equipped with all you need to keep your kids occupied and off-screen (crayons, markers, pencils, glue sticks, safe scissors, drawing paper, etc), and two bookcases filled with wonderful children’s books. A sizeable landing turned into playroom, with additional twin size day bed, sitting area, large smart TV, Wi-Fi, several cabinets filled with brand new or like-new puzzles, board games, family games, playing cards, Magformers, Duplo blocks, Me Reader books, and Read-Along CD books with CD-player. Adjacent full bathroom with shower. All new, insulated, soft carpeting.
Since we have children of our own, we are particularly focused on providing a family-friendly experience. We have plethora of lawn games to use on our beautifully designed front and back yards: Soccer ball with two goals, 4-people Badminton set with a foldable net, Basketball with a full-size free-standing basketball hoop, Hammock, Slip-and-Slide, Cornhole Game Set with 8 bean bags, Beamo, Toss and Catch, Paddle Ball Set, Pop-Pass-Catch Game with 4 Catch Launcher Baskets, Bubbles, Mini Scooters and more. There is a brand-new Webber grill right outside the Dining Room sliding doors for your cooking convenience, and a fire pit in the backyard for you to unwind and relax. The back deck is perfect to hide away with a good book or enjoy your morning coffee with the view. To enjoy the wooden dock and your private waterfront we have beach chairs and beach towels. The property includes plenty of trees and boulders to climb, and is surrounded by woods, streams, and ponds waiting to be explored. The closest walking trail through Perley Mills Community Forest starts 1/2 mile from our property and runs through the narrow gauge track for 3 miles. Snowmobile paths continue on at either end for miles. There is also a 4-mile, moderately hilly, biking trail along Walden Pond and Hancock Pond, right outside our property. Several ATV trails also cut through the nearby forests.
For even more fun, our house is located only 10 min drive from Pleasant Mountain with beautiful hiking trails in the summer/fall, 13 min from its Ski Resort open in winter (formerly Shawnee Peak), 15 minutes from Bridgton (Pondicherry Park, Chocolate Haus, brewery, pubs, movie theaters, restaurants galore, bookstore, antiquing and more), 20 minutes from Naples (Causeway Marina, Long Lake attractions: ponton boats and jet skis rentals, water skiing, seaplanes rides, and Songo River Queen II Cruises), 15-30 minutes to all Sebago Lake points (Point Sebago Resort, Sebago State Park, Family Campground, Marina, etc), 25 min from Fryeburg (the Saco River, tubing, 302 West BBQ, romantic inns for dinner, Fryeburg Fair), and 35 minutes from North Conway, NH (restaurants, shops, water park, adventure park, mini golf, Settlers Green outlets) and all The White Mountains (hiking, rock climbing, skiing, state parks and all that you can dream of!). We very much enjoyed our stay in Denmark, Maine. The pond was perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, and swimming the dock with built-in lounge chairs was a dream. When the weather did not cooperate, there was an abundance of games and activities that kept even my adult children busy The house was spacious and relaxing. Everything we needed was handy whether they’re cooking inside or grilling outdoors surfaces were easy to clean, and there was a handy checklist to guide you through the checkout process. We are grateful for our stay.

This property was great! In all the VRBO properties we have stay in, this was the best. So very well stocked with all essentials including toilet paper, towels, beach towels, kitchen items such as paper towels, coffee, Splenda, sugar, salt & pepper, spices and every kitchen utensil we needed. The property was also stocked with plenty of books, games for the kids and indoor games such as table tennis, small pool table. In addition the owners provided paddle boards, kayaks, and various sized life vests! Wonderful place to spend two weeks! (Rain or shine)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the pond! It was incredibly peaceful where the house stood nestled away in the woods. There was plenty to do for my family which ages ranged from 1 year old-75. The house was very clean and updated. Each room was cool and comfortable with their own air conditioner. Fishing was great- some of the best around! All amenities were true to their description. Outdoor equipment made it fun for the kids and easy for us adults to not have to lug it all from home. It felt like we were home away from home. Very friendly and communicative homeowners who clearly take pride in their home and the area around them. We are very much looking forward to staying there again next year!

We had an extended family vacation this past week and we loved our time in Denmark. Perley pond is not super big but quiet, clean and beautiful. The house has a lot of toys and games but honestly we spend most of the time at the house playing in the lake. Great location, a quick drive to Bridgton and manageable distance to locations like Sebago and Conway. We had a wonderful stay.

My family and I had the absolute pleasure of staying here for 2 weeks while we came back home to visit with our family. Our expectations were wildly exceeded!! The home was pristine and was by far the best equipped short term rental we have ever encountered! Our kids absolutely loved the games, activities and books indoors, and we all had fun with the paddle boards, kayak and floats at the lake! The kitchen has everything you could possibly think of for cooking and grilling out. The beds and couch were cozy and the AC kept the inside comfortably cool. The hosts were incredibly kind and responsive and have wonderful binders at the home with recommendations for local tourism.
The back yard and lake are so wonderful, since there are only a few homes on the lake and motorized boats are not allowed, it was incredibly peaceful. The fishing was great, they were jumping all day and night! Could not recommend this place enough!

This is by far the most amazing property that I have stayed at. Everything was very clean and organized, lots of games for the kids to play with and everything very well stocked. The owner was very quick to respond when we needed them. Would definitely stay here again in a heartbeat!

We loved this house so much! It's on a beautiful piece of property overlooking a pond. The kitchen is fully stocked and easy to cook in. The house was spotless! Our group consisted of two families with two kids each. It was great to have two "adult" bedrooms downstairs and a kids bunk room and hang out area upstairs. There were so many great amenities for the kids - toys, books, art supplies! The house is convenient to the grocery store and Bridgton as well as skiing. We can't wait to rent this house again!

We had an incredible stay at this beautifully appointed home. No detail has been overlooked from kitchen supplies, linens and an incredible play space for children of all ages. We loved discovering some new board games and reading the many books (for adults and children alike!). Communication with our host was outstanding and we were thrilled to enjoy a peaceful fun getaway with family! Highly recommend Patrycja’s home for a lovely stay.

We had such a lovely stay. It’s a children’s paradise with all the books, crafts and games in their own little space. The amount of accessories for water play provided was amazing, we didn’t need to bring anything it was all there for us. The host really made it feel like we were at a posh hotel, with nothing to worry about. The lake was just a lovely magical place. We loved that it felt like we had the water to ourselves. So private and peaceful with big lake activity close by. Can’t say enough really. So happy we found it and we hope to come back and visit again.
