Nice hotel, but be aware it’s a very noisy area of town, with a lot of noise through to around 4am. The Junior Suite was lovely, but there’s no door to separate the toilet, so it’s quite strange going to the toilet “in your bedroom”. Parking very restricted, and the hotel garage was really tight access. Stick to a Fiat 500 and you’ll be ok.

Lovely hotel in the old town. The room was large and had everything you needed. A nice modern bathroom. Did not have breakfast but it looked good & value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

They didn’t clean off used coffee cups and the didn’t have enough toilet paper along the toilet otherwise all good

Lovely welcome and friendly staff are very impressed with the size of my room compared to the price

Single traveler staying for 3 nights, hotel is perfectly located for restaurants, bars nightlife in downtown Alicante. Great friendly staff, very well appointed. Unfortunately I go kind this room impossible to sleep in due to the noise from the room above me, you could hear everything they said, and they watched TV until 06:00, not great.

This lovely hotel is extremely well located amongst shops and restaurants. It’s a 10 minute walk to the beach and the promonade.
A buzzy atmosphere.
Our room was well appointed on the 2nd floor. However I found the bed to be very hard but I was quickly given an extra duvet to put on top of the mattress.
The one gripe would be the lack of sound proofing - each night of our three day trip we were subject to very noisy bed springs from the room above us!

Very nice 4 night stay in a single occupancy double room. Hotel is modern as my room was recently refurbished. Staff very pleasent. Location perfect for old town Alicante.

The property is in a great location, easy walking to everything we wanted to explore. The rooftop bar was great too - amazing views and friendly service. We were in a ground floor accessible room which was very spacious, though we didn't need the accessible features. The only real concern was the two big windows in the room looked right onto the street so people walking past could see right into the room. There were shutters that could be closed but then the room was quite dark, and there were electric shades that could come down but you could still see through them.

The room was small but comfortable however very noisy no ceiling insulation breakfast was great locatin convenient

Great location hotel, but room was next to lift noise, and quite expensive.
The negatives were lighting in room was it flexible enough to have low lighting switched for both sides of bed.
Plus TV required reset and messing around to get any channels, some of which did not work.

Great location in old town, near the beach and plazas for eating. Parking was surprisingly easy through the old town, parking directly outside hotel but you need to move the car to a nearby car park, reception were very helpful. We had a family room with sofa bed. The room was very nice but as it is an attick/loft conversion the low bare rafters and steel beam were very inconvenient banging my head many times. Breakfast was lovely too.

Great stay, friendly staff & perfect location in the old town. Lovely old building full of character with charmingly decorated rooms.
Plenty of choice at breakfast which was included.
We stayed on a Friday night as we wanted a lively experience.
It was quite noisy in the room with people out in the streets enjoying the night life.
It was worth the disturbance to be in such a convenient location but wouldn't suit anyone wanting an narly night.

This place is in the heart of the entertainment for the city. You walk out into restaurants and bars. The beach is a 3 minute walk. Bar on the rooftop. May be a bit small but whose staying in the room anyway.

Absolutely beautiful historic property in the old town. We were upgraded at no extra cost and greeted in a really jolly fashion even though our flight was massively delayed and we arrived at 4am. Rooftop bar was lovely and the room was beautiful. So handy for the beach and the tram to San Juan beach (bit nicer than Postiguet). Near to shops and great restaurants - fantastic!

My room was small, the AC didn't work well and was a bit dark.

Very helpful staff
First room given was very noisy, we could hear the room above and cracking wooden floors. We’d been offered a different for the following night. Very reactive staff, thanks

Excellent hotel in the old part of the city, close to a plethora of restaurants, the Mercado and in within a short walk of the beach. Staff were very helpful and courteous and having reception manned 24/7 is excellent. Great roof terrace with excellent views of the castle.

Center of the old town, nice reception team, good breakfast

As a solo lady traveller it was important I felt comfortable ,yet I had a room with which was extremely claustrophobic with a view of a wall and air conditioning unit and someone else's bathroom window which was open the whole.time and I heard everything. I asked for a move and was refused yet I paid £108 room only .This will not let me add photos which I took?

Very soft bed- personal preference and soft pillows- so not a good nights sleep
very small rooms and bathroom

Very small tight bathroom. Not good for big people or people who are mobility limited. Very helpful and friendly and enjoyable front desk folks. I would stay again on my own or with other able body companions.

Great boutique hotel in the old town... very central for eating, etc...

If you are driving there is no parking, we used a parking lot about 15 mins walk away, and dropped our bags first at the hotel which helped. Very nice decor and style. Generous breakfast. Great shower.
5.0
The room shower room was on the small side but functional, bed comfortable and when both sets of doors were closed hardly any of the outside noise could be heard.
With the aircon set at the lowest speed sleep was comfortable, breakfast had a reasonable choice and staff were very accommodating.

Great place, location excellent, close to tapas bars, seafront and beach all a short work away. Hotel in a side street, staff very friendly. Would definitely stay again

I really enjoyed my stay a great welcome from staff, lovely old building, my room had high ceilings, small balcony. Easy access via bus from airport only a couple of mins away, as were beaches, many restaurants and churches shops and supermarkets. It was clean and a great choice of breakfast which was very good value. If I go back to Alicante I will stay there again, no problem. The roof terrace was a great place to sit and read or have coffee. Thanks.

Couldn’t ask for more apart from a television that worked and a shower that wasn’t dangerously slippery.

Our room was tiny and the bed was cement hard, shared with reception and no resolve was available.

Reception when we arrived was great and was a nice hotel, it all went wrong when two strangers walked into my room in the middle of the night whilst we were sleeping. I jumped out of bed and confronted them at the door and one of them was a member of staff with a key . At check out in the morning they made up up some lie about drunk people opened my door!! How can they let others have access to guests room keys ? It also brings to mind their policy about location of guests in case of fire . A formal apology would have been nice not some tall tale to cover their backs . A hotel room in a foreign country should be your safe place but didn’t feel that way after this .

VERY hard to find if you are driving, an absolute nightmare. The car navigation system couldn’t find the hotel. We had to pull off of the road, park illegally and use Google maps to walk to the hotel to ask for specific details on how to get to their parking.
The room we were in was a small suite with sloped ceiling and a skylight (no windows). A special feature was a 200 year old stone tub which we used to store bath towels in as there were no hooks or rails. The lack of a night light in the room and multiple steps to get to and from the bathroom made us nervous. Right beside the tub the step down was about 1 metre high, which is potentially dangerous if you step down from that point in the middle of the night. Rather than risk breaking our necks we slept with the light on, which made for a very fitful sleep. I suggest that they put in a night light and put a glow in the dark strip at the highest point of the step.

A very pleasant stay in a classical hotel retaining many original features. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean with a balcony overlooking the street. Bit more shower gel would have been nice, but a minor grumble.

Beautiful rooms with comfort and cleanliness. Enjoyed every moment. The roof terrace with views of the church and the castle is a perfect place to end the day. Breakfast is good value and with many choices. Warm hosts. Hotel Monges is a memorable place.

Hotel next to a Food Kitchen for those in Need, can be worrisome, especially during supper, 7pm, but not at all. Roof top bar, great views, but no service, bar closed. Breakfast was good, but restaurant/bar next to lobby and not very inviting. Feels more like a hostel!!!
