Charming cottage which needs a few issues addressed .
Charming cottage, nice kitchen and dining area . Ali allowed us a later check out which we appreciated.
Cottage was chilly and needed the wood-burner but sadly only a starter pack of wood was provided despite the booking email and the welcome book stating extra wood was in the shed . This was empty and when we asked we were told we needed to buy wood . This was difficult as it meant lugging wood from a car park which is a walk away as there is no parking at property . No advice on where to buy wood was provided. Part of the charm of the cottage is the wood-burner and we felt at the price charged wood should be provided for the stay . If it’s not provided this should be made very clear in all the information especially before booking . All radiators are locked and the heat allowed was insufficient. Ali did “unlock” the lounge one but we would have liked the wood-burner. We also had two water leaks through the ceiling which we had to deal with . As mentioned by another guest both double mattresses are uncomfortable and need upgrading . Dining room chairs are very sharp and poor quality . Cottage is on a very main road and the noise from 5am till late is constant . It can be heard clearly in the lounge and main bedroom .

Lovely few days in a quirky cottage in the South Downs
Quirky cottage, very clean and tastefully decorated
Not a big deal really, but no parking on site so loading and unloading was tricky

Superb
Super pretty cottage, very special in style. Easy to find, free parking close to accommodation, pretty location, pub, cafe, butcher, Domino's and grocery store within a two minute walk. Owner was very helpful and kind and had collected a convenient information package of the area's services. Our whole family (incl. 2- and 6-year old kids) really loved the place.
Steep stairs to bedroom and bathroom; is hardly suitable for people with walking disabilities. Master bedroom bed was skueaqing quite badly at the time of our visit but I'm rather sure the owner will take the feedback to replace the bed.

A few teething issues but overall a lovely little cottage and worth a stay!
Ali (the host) was very friendly and quick to respond, she also provides as much information as she can regarding the area and the house which we found very helpful. The cottage is adorable! It's small but beautiful and has everything you need. The beds, duvets and pillows were very soft, cosy and comfortable and for the short time we were there, it was ideal! We didn't get a chance to use the log burner but I'm sure it would have made the place all the more homely and warm! Collecting keys was a dream! Just a key code to collect them at the property. One of us left our charger there and the host very kindly offered to post this back to us which was very nice of her. There were a few teething problems but from what I understand this is a fairly new let and the host was very keen to take our notes on board to improve the process moving forward.
It was quite tricky to find because there isn't any signs that say 'Pieman's cottage', just a house number that wasn't previously provided. The cottage was very cold, we weren't in the property for long enough to use the log burner safely we so decided not to, however there was some issues with how to work the heating and it was very chilly (outside of the bed), but I have fed these issues back to the host so I believe this will be taken into account on future bookings. There was also no information regarding parking, there is a car park round the corner but you will need to pay (it's not too expensive though). The road the cottage is on is quite a busy road so be prepared for a little traffic noise. Also it would be nice if there were some extra sheets and duvet at the property so the sofa bed could be used if need be. One of us was recovering for a bug and didn't want to wake the others by sleeping in the same room and coughing all night, but we just used the sheets from the top bunk to make up the bed. We also thought that check in time was a little late and check out was a little early (especially as we needed to ensure everything was washed up and the beds were stripped before checking out), it would have been nice if we were allowed more time to enjoy the property at no extra cost. The light fixture in the bathroom was a little temperamental and started coming away from the ceiling (but I'm sure the host will get that sorted pretty quickly as she seems very efficient!) There were some issues with payment as this was not taken from Booking.com as expected which came to a surprise but as soon as Ali realised she sent me a link to pay, it was soooo easy and straight forward, it was really fine, plus I believe this has now been sorted for future bookings!
