The area is known for its community-focused atmosphere, cultural events, and recreational activities.
Union Square wraps around Union Square Park, a National Historic Landmark dating back to 1839. The park is one of New York City’s most historic public plazas and is well-known as a mecca of free expression and arts-and-crafts vendors. It hosts the popular Greenmarket, a farmers market open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
The neighborhood is home to an array of historical landmarks, shopping options, dining establishments, and luxurious hotels and residences. You'll find statues devoted to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington, as well as the monumental Union Square Drinking Fountain, an ornamental bronze sculpture dating to 1881.
In summary, Union Square is a lively and diverse neighborhood in the heart of Manhattan, offering a mix of urban and cosmopolitan lifestyle. It's perfect for those who love the fast-paced lifestyle and the best of Manhattan living.
