Union Square wraps around Union Square Park, a National Historic Landmark dating back to 1839. It hosts the popular Greenmarket, a farmers market open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

The neighborhood is home to an array of historical landmarks, shopping options, dining establishments, and luxurious hotels and residences. You'll find statues devoted to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington, as well as the monumental Union Square Drinking Fountain, an ornamental bronze sculpture dating to 1881.
