The location was great for our family and the place itself is just like the pictures. We were able to bring our boat up and used it daily to explore and voyage through the various locks. Some directions about which way to navigate the shallow water when approaching the property in the bay by boat would have been helpful. Navigate to the right of the island, not the left - there were rocks jutting out of the water that were not marked. You need to bring your own sheets, towels, garbage bags and water. We also had to buy batteries for the TV remotes. The furnace can be shut off with a light switch in the basement which we learned the hard way when the AC was not working for a full day in 30 degrees weather and we didn't know why. The owners did send someone to check on it the next day but a quick text to diagnose immediately would have been better. Once we were able to get to the store in Elgin to get supplies, we had a very good time. The place itself was great for our needs. You cannot swim at the property since the area is very weedy. For the price, the cottage was definitely worth it. Just would be nice to know in advance what supplies were unavailable.

This cottage is as it reads. A pleasant getaway for the family.
As noted by the posting, there is no swimming at this cottage.
A quaint little town, Westport, is close to the cottage should you want to explore the area. It also has a small, but lovely public beach.

It’s my first time renting a cottage on a lake as we were boat people before so didn’t know what to expect. The beds were super comfortable and it was so nice to have a full kitchen and living/ dining room to hang out in. I would recommend this property to others without hesitation. The property was everything represented in the listing. Nicely decorated, clean and spacious.
