About this villa rental
The house is of unique design and each room has glorious, uninterrupted views over the Ionian sea.
It is just 5 - 10 mins walk from the village centre with it's local tavernas and mini-markets and approx. 25 mins drive from the airport.
The sitting room, open-plan dining room and kitchen, together with cloakroom and utility room are all on the top floor and have a spectacular outlook.
On the floor below are three light, airy and spacious bedrooms all overlooking the sea, and each with balconies and integral awnings giving protection from the sun. Two bedrooms have king-size beds and the third has two twin beds. The first king-size bedroom has it's own ensuite (full size bath, overhead shower, toilet and basin). The second king-size bedroom has an ensuite shower-room which can be shared with the twin bedroom. Each bedroom has fitted wardrobes, dressing table, occasional chairs and comfortable beds.
The large mosaic swimming pool dominates the front sun-terrace and there are shady areas in the garden particularly under the vine-covered pergola which is equipped with tables and chairs for eating.
The villa itself is fully equipped for a maximum of eight guests & offers high quality, tasteful accommodation with full air-conditioning and Internet connection. Meals can be enjoyed on the large top-floor oval balcony or below in the garden by the pool. From the house and garden guests can see miles of the Livathos coastline, the whole length of Lourdas Bay and the island of Zakinthos.
Coast/Beach:
The Garden House is 15 minutes walk to Lourdas Beach but longer coming back as it is uphill in places!
There are many other sandy beaches nearby all of which are where the famous logger-head turtles nest in the summer months.
Although the villa is not far from the beach and local tavernas, we strongly recommend that you hire a car. Walking in high summer when temperatures reach 36/38C. can be exhausting. A car is also important if you want to explore the island more fully.
The villa is approx 25 mins drive from the airport and most hire car companies have cars available for collection and return at the airport.
There are several well stocked supermarkets in the village and larger stores 20 minutes' drive away. A welcome pack is provided on arrival at the villa and there are several local tavernas very close to the village church approx 10 mins walk along the lane. At the villa each bedroom and balcony has magnificent views of the sea, the island of Zakinthos, the garden and pool. The house is set at the top of a private drive shared with one other house, amid peaceful countryside of olive groves and woodland.
There are incredible places to visit in Kefalonia all within a comfortable drive. These include the Omala Valley and Saint Gerasimos's resting place at the historic monastery there, Mount Ainos and it's breathtaking walking trails, the island's bustling capital town of Argostoli with it's fruit and vegetable markets and colourful waterfront, the port of Sami, charming Assos and cosmopolitan Fiskardo which makes for an incredible day out to the north-east coast! Everywhere there are beautiful safe swimming beaches - both sandy and pebbly - many with small tavernas, others with shady olive groves to picnic or majestic cliffs as a backdrop.
There are many places to eat out - some a short stroll from the house, others along Lourdas Beach, also in country villages, in Argostoli itself or along the waterfronts of harbours and ports.
Kefalonia has so much to offer. You can chose to spend the day by the pool, laze on one of the local beaches or explore the island's sights before watching the spectacular Ionian sunset from the balconies. The Garden House is idyllically situated in an elevated position along a quiet lane. It is above the main Lourdas Beach and lies on the lower slopes of Mt Ainos - a protected National Park. Wild orchids flower in the spring, in the autumn crocuses and cyclamen bloom. Wild horses still roam the mountain and from the balconies guests may even see eagles, owls and bats!

We had a lovely time at the Garden House. Great views, fantastic very private villa and pool and a very relaxing holiday which is just what we all needed. We'll definitely look to visit again sometime in the near future.

Perfect accommodation for a family with grown up children. The views were amazing from the top floor balcony and the property exceeded our expectations. The owners greeted us on the first day and were always on hand to give useful recommendations. Everything required could be found in the kitchen and the temperature of the house was just right with the air conditioning, even in very hot temperatures. Lovely pool which was a perfect size with lots of shade available poolside too. It was possible to walk to the beach in the cooler evenings but a car was essential in the middle of the day. Lots to see on the island too and plenty of excellent restaurants. We especially enjoyed Lorraine's Magic Hill for her enthusiasm regarding the food and the view over the beach.

We had a wonderfully relaxing and refreshing holiday at the Garden House. The upstairs balcony enjoys the loveliest of views overlooking the bay and the island of Zante. The Villa is a super place to stay with a pool set in a beautiful garden. Natasha & Wayne were available to greet us on arrival. We appreciated their kindness and the helpful welcome provisions. There are lots of local tavernas offering excellent menu choices, including traditional Greek food, many beaches, supermarkets and interesting places to visit.

Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Lourdata, our stay at the 4-bedroom villa was an absolute dream come true. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and outstanding hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable experience.
The first thing that caught our attention was the villa's exceptional location, offering panoramic views that left us in awe. With each room tastefully designed to maximize the stunning vistas, waking up to the sight of the azure Ionian Sea stretching out before us was pure magic. Whether we were lounging on the terrace, sipping our morning coffee, or unwinding in the comfort of the spacious living area, the villa effortlessly blended the natural beauty of Lourdata with its contemporary elegance.
The highlight of our stay, however, was the sparkling swimming pool that invited us for a refreshing dip at any time of the day. Surrounded by lush greenery and overlooking the enchanting coastline, we spent countless hours basking in the sun, relishing the tranquility and serenity that this little piece of paradise offered.
Without a doubt, our time at the 4-bedroom villa in Lourdata will forever hold a special place in our hearts. It offered us an idyllic retreat with stunning views, a refreshing swimming pool, and the warmest hospitality one could ask for. If you're looking for an escape from the ordinary, this villa is the perfect choice to create cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

This is a really well-put-together property with a well thought-out layout - the upside-down house with the kitchen/lounge on the top floor may seem odd at first, but when you go out onto the balcony where you will almost certainly spend every breakfast time, then you understand why they did this - the view out over the bay is spectacular and dramatic, with the slopes of Mount Aenos rising behind you. .
The property itself is of a really high standard with everything you could need (bar maybe bath towels) and a good layout of toilets / bathrooms etc. Comfortable beds, heaps of storage so you don't have luggage lying around, all of the kitchen trappings you could want, even plastic cups / plates etc for dining downstairs on the charming side shady area.
Great neighbourhood as well, we got into a quasi routine of walking down the hill to Liza's grill, ordering takeaway from there, going for a drink in the charming Cafe Platanos while the order was prepared, then making the short trek up the hill. For food we also rated Gefiri, Denis (on Trapezaki beach), Anemos (on Kaminia beach), and Chefalonia.
Though there are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance, the combination of Cardiac Hill from the beach and the topography involved in getting around mean we would really suggest a car is highly recommended for this villa. It also means you can easily get to some of the other beautiful beaches (Kaminia, Trapezaki) nearby and then go further afield to Argostoli, Skala, Sami/Antisamos etc. Lourdas beach itself has a certain kind of charm and is lovely and sandy, especially if you turn right at the bottom of the hill rather than left.
Any points of improvement for this property? It could definitely do with a BBQ / gas grill setup somewhere on the ground level. Also maybe some beach towels. But honestly these are very minor points and overall it was a stunning holiday home. Owners and property manager were responsive and helpful throughout. Highly recommended.

I kept pinching myself to see if I was dreaming! This property was even better than pictured! So clean and luxurious! The property was spacious and the grounds were beautiful! The beach is a short drive down the hillside and there are many delicious choices for restaurants and bakeries and markets. But it is so peaceful and private you will feel completely relaxed! My mother in law swears this must be a celebrity destination! Lourdas beach was perfect and you would never need to seek better, but of course there is so much to do and see on the island. Be prepared for a driving adventure! The roads are very narrow and winding but the locals are patient and courteous with tourists on the road!

We had a fabulous 12 day stay in the Garden Villa. It is a lovely villa and was really well furnished and had everything you could need. It was perfect for us a family of four with 2 teenagers. As it says in the description the views of the sea are breathtaking! Lee was brilliant with all the communications and although not the easiest to find on the first day her directions got us there.
Not having been to Kefalonia before we didn't appreciate how hilly the island is. The villa is a 15 minute walk downhill to the beach but it is a steep hill and you didn't want to be doing the walk back up during the daytime in 37*C heat. It was fine to do though after an evening meal and there were lots of lovely restaurants and cafes not only down by the sea but half way up the hill and at the top of the hill.
We hired a car and had a few days out on the beaches in Skala, Kaminia and Myrtos which were all beautiful. We would highly recommend the beach bar Ammos at Skala and it's sunbeds on the beach! Lourdas beach was also lovely and we went for a swim along the shore line most mornings.
In short we would highly recommend the villa, Lourdata and Kefalonia!

Excellent property with everything you need. Clean, comfortable rooms and a very well equipment kitchen. A good location to visit the rest of the island and a short walk to shops, restaurants and the sea.

Stayed in the garden house with my family and it was the perfect holiday for us! The views were breathtaking with sea views at the front and mount Aenos at the back. The villa was well equipped with everything we needed and welcome pack provided. Sam, the house manager was really helpful and came regularly throughout our stay to provide clean towels and linen. The villa was also spotlessly clean with bright spacious rooms and lots of storage in the bedrooms for our belongings. There was lots of outdoor space, both in the sun and the shade with a beautiful pool to cool down in. The sandy beaches were amazing as were the tavernas and the local bakery. Kefalonia is a blissful island and there is much to explore! We will definitely be returning!

We throughly enjoyed staying at this home. It is exactly as depicted in the pictures. There was plenty of gathering space inside and out with great views from the pool deck as well as the balconies. It was a little challenging to find at first, once we got off the Main Street, but ultimately we were able to get there on our own. I would definitely recommend having a car if you stay here.
Two things would have made it even better than it was. (1) It would have been nice if pool towels were provided, especially since there is a pool. We had a one suitcase full of towels. (2) We arrived during a heat wave and suffered an extremely warm first night in all three bedrooms. Someone was able to come look at the a/c units the next evening and, after cleaning all the filters, the rooms were finally cool.
Overall it was a great house!

Our family of five adults have just spent a fabulous week at this beautiful property in a stunning location with great views.
(Obviously to get the views there is a certain amount of steep walking involved and I would advise a small car if you are not used to the roads on the island)
The house is beautifully furnished and well equipped with a lovely pool area. Lovely to meet Sam the house manager who dealt with any queries we had.
Great communication from the owners Lee and Graham.
It met our expectations and more !!
Would definitely recommend, we loved it

We had a fantastic stay in this amazing villa. From the time of booking to check out time the communication was excellent.
The villa had a lovely pool with stunning sea views, the kitchen was well supplied and the bedrooms were all comfortable with air conditioning.
The location is excellent - walking distance to a few restaurants but I would recommend a car as the walk back from the beach in the summer sun isn't fun!
All in all a superb holiday -we hope to come back again soon!

What a fantastic place. Best Greek Island we have been to. Overall a faultless holiday. Good restaurants, great location. You are best to have a car, or be ready to walk some slopes. But everything is a short distance away. Fantastic!
