We LOVED this period correct 1900 hotel in Ashland! Check in and out was seamless and there was always coffee in the parlor, despite never having seen the on site help. It almost made it feel as if the hotel was run by ghosts... Truly fun.
That said, the mattresses themselves were not quite what I would have liked as I feel the quality did not match everything else in the hotel. Would have preferred firmer, higher quality mattresses.
Other than that, the rooms were just a touch cold with no way to offset, despite layering up and/or tucking in to bed.
Loved the space. Will stay again.

Everything was good and was as advertised. The place is charming and easily walkable. Great coffee shop next door.

only one night, but rested well in the comfy bed.

The Peerless is beautifully restored, nicely furnished, and very well maintained. We loved our stay and will return, whether you will love it likely depends on your reaction to the unstaffed model. Entry is via keypad since there is no staff onsite, but email and local phone contacts are provided just in case. Our room #6 was small, with little counter space, so we spent most of our waking hours in the lovely rear parlor instead. The room had a small fridge but no TV or microwave; parlor had coffee machine, hot water, many books about Ashland and Oregon tourism, no microwave, no snack vending machine. No elevator, just a narrow twisty staircase to second floor, so you'll be carrying your own bags up to rooms 3-7. Few other customers during our 4 night late summer stay, hence very quiet. Street parking in front plus three guest parking spaces in back. Pleasant short walk to Main St. and OSF theaters.

I can't tell you how much I loved just hanging out at the Hotel. The whole property felt like a warm hug.

Beautiful refinished building. The honeymoon suite is a dream.

Lovely hotel in a quiet corner of Ashland! A ten-minute walk from the main downtown area.
The keyless self-check-in was lovely and worked well!
Heads up that you do not have any control over the heat or A/C in your rooms. This was fine but sometimes meant we woke up too toasty in the mornings, or went to bed chilly. We had a fridge in our room, but no microwave, so leftovers from restaurants could only be eaten cold.
The other thing missing that would have taken the room to the next level is a box of kleenex or facial tissues.
We would absolutely stay here again!

Wonderful boutique hotel with lots of historic charm and great amenities. Very conveniently located 5-10 minute walk to downtown Ashland. Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this historic property, lovingly restored, with private and lush garden spaces and rooms for conversation and contemplating. On-line booking, keyless entry and self check-in went smoothly. Clean, quiet, close to downtown. My new first choice for stays in Ashland.

Great hotel, quiet at night, but easy walking to downtown! We loved the history of the place, the great room, and shared spaces in the hotel. No onsite staff, but everything was easy! We enjoyed our stay and it was definitely in part due to the Peerless!!

Unique, quiet, and all around great stay. If i could recommend one thing, it would be a microwave at least in the lobby. It's possible there was one that we just didn't see somewhere. We will stay again for sure.

A very unique experience. It is a self serve hotel. The email I received for information regarding passcodes was a bit confusing as it didn't specify any information on which room I was staying in. I had to refer to my Expedia booking, so it would help if the information was all in one place. Because there was no on site staff and it being a historic building, the hotel did have a ghostly vibe and I was quite taken back at the eerie, quiet loneliness. My room was well maintained and clean. There is easy street parking and walking distance to a coffee shop.

Love the key pad systems for all the doors! It made check-in & check-out the easiest it’s ever been. The room was immaculate & gorgeous. We are regular tourists in Ashland & have stayed in many other hotels & airbnbs & we would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely experience at the peerless hotel. The whole building is full of charm and character! I highly reccomend it to anyone looking for a weekend away.

My stay seemed to be off season because I felt I was the only one staying at the hotel. A charming hotel (with a Steven King "Shining" vibe) that was relaxing and a pleasant walk downtown for dining and theater. Definite rebooking in my future.

This was a very pleasant stay, I am already thinking about returning to this very room the next time I pass through Ashland. The room is lovely, huge, clean, and very comfortable. The entire building is well-designed and taken care of, so much beautiful decor and the plants are a very nice touch. The location is perfect, everything is within walking distance and quiet at night. No issues with keyless entry, very easy to check-in and out.

Hard to rate service etc as it is keyless entry to hotel and room. Saw no staff.
Unique kind of hotel. We loved it.

My GF and I had a wonderful time here. Self-check-in was super easy and the room was wonderful, especially the huge bathtub and big bed. They had Wifi, but no TV (at least I don't think they did - which is a good thing). The other visitors at the hotel were very kind. I would love to know even MORE about the history of this hotel.

Very unique hotel. Interesting fixtures, decor and furnishings. The coffee service in the morning could be much improved. The self-check in is awkward when there are problems.

My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay after experiencing some car troubles while one our road trip and needed a pace to stay at the last minute. We were able to book our room and check in with ease and our entire stay was wonderful. Our room (aka the “Honeymoon Suite,” or room #7), was beautiful and just what we needed after a long and trying day. The hotel was located within walking distance of several coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, and the park, and we were never short on things to do while we were there. But being able to return to such a chic yet cozy room was the best part of our stay. The jacuzzi tub was so relaxing, the guest treats a lovely surprise, the balcony and windows perfect to watch the sunrise and sunset, and the comfiest hotel bed I’ve ever slept on. If you’re in Ashland and need a place to stay, I wholeheartedly recommend staying at the Peerless Hotel. No matter what room you choose, you can’t make a wrong decision.

Delightful and unusual stay. Wonderful historical building, very romantic. The walls are a bit thin for a light sleeper such as myself, however a white noise machine does the trick to get restful sleep. I do wish there was at least one room with a king size bed for when I am traveling with my partner. I enjoy the self-check in, personally, as it makes it so easy to pop in off the road when traveling.

Kyle and Rachel, the operators are great! Expedia and Hotels.com did a lousy job regarding gaining access to the hotel.

Located in a quiet and safe neighborhood that is only a 10-minute walk to downtown Ashland. Great coffee, restaurants, and shops nearby. I stayed in room 1 and was very pleased with the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room. It was evident the care and love that was put into the restoration of this historic building. It’s beautiful and contains many original details and interesting artifacts from the past. I highly recommend the Peerless Hotel for your stay in Ashland and can’t wait to return on my next visit!

This room was absolutely gorgeous, I can't imagine a more perfect space for a romantic getaway than the Peerless. The tub is huge, the space is gorgeously painted and furnished with antiques. There's a coffee shop and fine restaurant just a few steps down the street and downtown Ashland is only a few beautiful small-town blocks away. We've stayed here twice and will absolutely keep coming back!

This is the first time we’ve stayed at the Peerless since it changed ownership. It’s still very charming, but having no staff on site may be less than ideal for some. Our main complaint was that my husband called a day before arrival to ask about the Tesla charger and was told all the dedicated parking (3 spaces) was first-come, first served, but that they would turn the charger on for us. I also asked the person who contacted me for my credit card day-of about the charger and she said the same thing. However, when we arrived and were lucky enough to find the space open, the charger wasn’t on. I called her back and fortunately she answered and was able to instruct me where to find the breaker panel and turn the breaker on. The other issue was how awfully cold the room was - the thermostat is in a locked box in the hall and is for multiple rooms, but I don’t think there are vents in the hall, so the hall stays warm while the rooms get colder and colder. It ran all night long. We opened our (nice, big!) windows to counteract it but that only helped as long as it was hot out. Also, I doubt my elderly parents would have been able to figure out how to unlock their room door - it’s complicated. Tip: downstairs rooms are dark; upstairs rooms are accessed by a very steep and narrow interior stairwell - the exit-only outdoor stairs are easier to navigate so I suggest having one person hold the door open while the other brings luggage up the outside stairs.

The Peerless Hotel is full of character. The decor beautifully fits in with this historic building. Every piece of furniture, every design choice was obviously made with great care. Everything about the room and the common areas takes comfort and design into consideration. The hotel is pleasant walking distance through a manicured residential area to the downtown shops, restaurants, theaters and parks. I didn't have to use my car the whole time because of the convenient location. This was my first trip to Ashland. I had a wonderful stay and look forward to staying there again when I return.

Beautiful and historic. Loved the junior suite with jacuzzi tub. Would highly recommend

This was a weird experience. There is no on sight staff, so you’re on your own and that’s ok if you’re good at following the steps to get in and out. It was like staying in a museum. Not welcoming and hospitable. Also the rooms are not sound proof. Every creak in the floor etc was heard. Our booking said there was a continental breakfast, but nothing , except coffee or yea was made available

Don’t bother. Worst service and very misleading. Tesla drivers beware.
We called ahead as per the email to use the Tesla charger. We were informed that no one was there or nearby to “turn on” the charger but we could try and turn it on. But they didn’t know where it was, or if it was accessed without a key or a staff member… we were told we would be called back with more information. That never happened.
We chose to ignore the other bad reviews and risk it. Terrible choice on our part. There was a car parked in the spot when we got there. We called back since we had heard nothing. We were informed by a new person that the spot… despite the advertised spot and our adherence to calling in the request was basically not their problem. In fact the car there was not an electric, but they said nothing would be done.
Without a supercharger a car needs to charge 8+ hours. We were told to go downtown, have dinner, and charge there. This means parking overnight in an unknown lot away from the hotel! And walking back. Never mind the fact this person just assumed this was something we were willing or even able to do. We had no intention of eating in town as we had other plans.
The hotel is “historic cute”, but save yourself a headache and go somewhere with actual customer service. You don’t realize how much you need and appreciate it until it is gone.

Charming, historic property with easy walking distance to Oregon Shakespeare Festival, dining (we are at the unaffiliated Peerless restaurant) and an amazing coffee shop (Noble House) down the street. Very nice touches for hospitality in the room.
There is no on-premises staff, It works more like a VRBO with an entry code to the property and entry codes to the room. Still, the staff did answer the phone, so all was good!

I liked the historic building and accoutrements.
I disliked not having a breakfast and not having someone on site.
