About this house rental
DaneSide is a bright, airy dog-friendly property at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac with two parking spaces for guest use. It is set on the Dane Stream with a private long garden that has rattan furniture (seating and 2 loungers) and a brand new Blue Whale Malibu IV hot tub (September 2024, yet is just one minute walk to the vibrant Milford-on-Sea village centre and green and a 5 minute walk along Sea Road to the beach and stunning view of The Needles.
There is lots to do in and around Milford-on-Sea. The village is host to an array of independent boutiques, buzzy bars, gastropubs, cafes and a butcher and green grocer. The village green has many events from the music festival and dog show to plant sales and showcases for local artists. You can walk along the promenade to the east along Hurst Spit, all the way to Hurst Castle which is an ancient fort. The spit is also the best position to watch the famous Round the Island Yacht Race. If you are out this way, Keyhaven the hamlet next door to Milford is where the New Forest Paddle Sport company is located, so why not take a paddleboard lesson or rent a kayak?
Milford is only a 7 minute drive from Lymington with its long wide Georgian High Street. It is home to the Community Market, one of the best and most popular markets in the UK which takes place every Saturday. From fresh local crab and honey to antiques and outerwear, there is something for everyone.
Brockenhurst is just a 15 minute drive taking you to the start of many lovely New Forest walks. We've left a book in the property that features 30 New Forest circular walks of 6-8 miles, ideal if you are holidaying with your dog.
In the house itself, the sitting room has a comfy "sofas & stuff" sofa and 55" Smart TV with BT Sports package. Those staying in winter will likely enjoy the wood burner. Books, puzzles and games are also supplied.
The recently refurbished kitchen is equipped with everything you need for a self-catering stay, including a very large American Fridge freezer, ideal if you want to make meals in advance and bring them to save cooking whilst away! However if you'd like to get cooking, the SMEG range oven with induction hob and Ninja Dual Air Fryer will help you whip up a storm :) The Nespresso coffee machine means that you never need to go without a caffeine fix.
The dining area is in the west facing conservatory leading out on to the garden where there is an outdoor cabin, set up as a second sitting room with a futon sofa and 32" Frame Smart TV. The wifi repeater is also in the cabin, ensuring great connectivity.
The lower decking features 2 rattan sun loungers and a hot tub (Jets 1 and Waterfall), and the upper deck has further rattan furniture for outdoor seating and dining.
Being on the stream it's lovely to hear the birdsong especially the apparently resident blackbird and the bank attracts butterflies, ducks and moorhens. There is also a kingfisher that pops by sometimes.
As the garden is long, there are always both sunny and shady spots.
Upstairs in the property is a king size divan bed with firm mattress, a twin room with two singles and a single bedroom. All with black out curtains and/or blinds with curtains. All bedrooms have plenty of wardrobe and drawer storage. The bathroom is a bath with mains powered, powerful Bristan shower over.
We love sitting on the wooden swing made for two on sunny evenings in the garden as the sun goes down.

This is truly a lovely home, in a wonderful location. Helen’s home is 3 mins walk literally to the centre of the village, with a great selection of shops, pubs and eateries. It took us 6 mins to walk to the beach with a dog who’d rather sniff than walk!
Daneside has all home comforts but it was the little touches including generous welcome pack that made it special. Plus enough loo roll and dishwasher tablets to last our stay - a rare thing for holiday homes in our experience. My daughter thought the bathrobes gave it a spa like feel, they were an excellent touch. We hope to return soon x

The house is lovely and clean, a nice welcome pack which is a very nice touch when having a long journey, it’s in a quiet location which is in easy reach to beach, shops and lots of restaurants. Lovely 3 bedroom property in a great location, close to town and beach with some great walks.
We had a lovely stay, the house had everything we needed and was very comfortable and homely. even had Netflix and Prime TV.

Perfect house to stay with my husband, 2 teens and dog. There is a king, twin and single room so perfect that my kids don’t have to share a room. The beds are so comfortable and rooms nice and dark. The shower is hot and powerful and the bath tub is a corner so nice and roomy. The kitchen has everything you could wish for plus a nespresso coffee machine with pods provided. We were greeted with a bottle of Prosecco and Easter themed cake. Plus milk in the fridge. The garden is Astro turf to save from having muddy paw prints inside plus it’s such a sunny area with outside garden room and hot tub. The town is 5 minutes away by foot and the beach 8minutes away with nice cafe and kids play area.
Thanks Helen, We’ll be back.

We had the most wonderful family stay at DaneSide. It’s a perfectly situated, little oasis by the sea. It was immaculately clean and had everything we could possibly need. Helen is the not only great at communicating but is also the most thoughtful host, we celebrated two birthdays whilst there and turned up to a beautiful birthday cake. Our pooches were also left treats and toys….certainly the way to ours hearts. Milford on Sea is glorious…we can’t wait to come back.

Lovely, comfortable home. Clean and fully equipped with good quality furnishings and equipment. Absolutely everything we needed and the location was also perfect. Minutes walk to the beach or the village. Something for everyone including grandparents, kids and the dog! I would definitely recommend staying here and Helen was always quick to message if you needed her.

The house was perfectly located, a very short walk to the sea and an even shorter walk to the beautiful town centre.
Helen was a fantastic host, nothing was too much and she greeted us personally. There were lots of perks, such as the hot tub, coffee machine and lots of fresh flowers. The house was a great size for our stay and suited us as a family of four perfectly. There were plenty of cooking facilities in the house although, we were spoiled for choice with a variety of local restaurants and take aways.
I would highly recommend this property for your next getaway! Milford on Sea is wonderful.
