Great place and well outfitted. Yes, there's public access right next door but really it's no big deal. Check out the new park on the bay side about 5 miles down for swimming. We enjoyed our stay!

The location is very private and quiet. The laundry is in the ground level utility room. It is described as a cottage which is accurate. Gradual updates are being made, the latest of which is a new AC/heating system and newer master bath. The refrigerator is large and the lower pull out freezer has an ice maker. The neighbor is friendly. The view is wonderful and there is a nice ocean breeze. The large coconut palm trees make it feel like a Robinson Crusoe treehouse. The shoreline is lined with rugged rocks and difficult to launch a kayak. The seabed has sparse sea grass and is shallow for a long way out so there are no large waves. The coral reefs in the area are about 4 miles away from shore so to snorkel it is best to go on one of the area
snorkel tours. The canals have been closed off with large rocks and it is not recommended to swim or fish in the canals. The end of the roads are public accesses so there will be people walking/fishing along the waterfront. There is a very nice like new WinnDixie about 3 miles away for groceries and alcohol. As mentioned by many reviewers, the beds are very comfortable. We brought our own pillows. This place is all about the view and sunrises. For sunsets, go out to dinner at a bayside restaurant. The area has a ton of restaurants, both seaside and bayside and in between. Mrs. Mac's has 2 restaurants, the original is on the right and they serve the best waffles! Mrs. Mac's II is on the left, a wonderfully maintained diner with good food at a reasonable price and excellent key lime pie. Key Largo Fisheries has a fresh seafood market and also an outside order window for freshly prepared seafood to be enjoyed on the very large deck. This cottage is probably not the best for kids because of the high decking, stairs, and lack of easy access to the water, and no pool. But to get away to a relaxing place, it's great. Everything else around the keys is crammed in together, unlike this place.

The home is solid. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway with great beds this is for you. The view is priceless. The house is dated, the sceens don't shut entirely so ants and bugs do come in however I will take dated and bugs to have the tranquility this house offers. Many great card games with the kids on the patio overlooking the ocean. We fished off the wall and watched a couple locals catch a shark they proceeded to put in the canal. Thankfully we saw this and didn't even have to argue w our kids about swimming in the ocean or canal outside the house. The house is well stocked for pots and pans- having a washer and dryer available was a huge bonus! I loved the secluded location. I was blessed to watch the sunrise each am over the ocean while working out under the tree by the canoes- can't do this comfortably in many heavily populated vacation homes- key Largo was a quiet town. Many great food options and although we planned to make a day trip to key west the traffic was more than we wanted to deal with so Robbie's was as far south as we hit- plenty to do in this area!

This cabin was just wonderful. Very nice, clean as could be, great view. Shade or sun on deck as desired. Everything you need is here. Mary Ann was great to work with - very helpful. You won't regret renting this idyllic place. In fact, you will want to return. Lovely, convenient, quiet location.

This was pure paradise! The cabin was absolutely beautiful and had so many personal
touches that made it feel like home away from home. The beds and bedding were so comfortable! The cabin had everything we could possibly need. We snorkeled, kayaked, and fished daily. Super safe area with plenty of grocery stores and delicious restaurants nearby. It's just far enough to be secluded but still close to plenty of activities. We could have stayed there 24/7 and been totally happy but we did travel to Key West one night which was well worth the drive! We also ate dinner in Islamorada one night which was close by. We even went to Miami South Beach one night for dinner and had a great time there too! The view while sitting on the beautiful wraparound deck is breathtaking! There is comfy furniture on the deck and a hammock to lounge in as well. It really is your own little piece of paradise. We are leaving so relaxed and will miss Key Largo and this beautiful cabin surrounded by beautiful palm trees, gorgeous water, and amazing scenery. Loved everything about it!!!

The Caine is the perfect getaway if you like peace and quiet, and seclusion. It is at the end of a culdesack and to the south the only neighbor you have is the ocean and to the east Mangroves, there are neighbors on the other two sides but all was peaceful and you hardly know they are there. The sunrise each morning is awesome and the cabin itself is a cozy home away from home, you immediately feel like you live there. A walk on the shore each morning reveals new experiences and wildlife such as dolphin pods, tarpin, stingray, lobster, barracuda and the resident eguana. Always shells to find but most are home to hermit crabs, I found a sea sponge on the beach that was an amazing find. The deck is the perfect place to relax in the evening with a drink and good friends.
The beds are very comfortable and the entire cabin is well equipped with everything you need from cooking utensils to cayaks, canoes and fishing poles. Mary Anne is great to work with, we are already planning our next getaway. We always enjoyed the local restaurants, no disapointments as well as local activities.
The cabin is beginning to show its age and could use some minor repairs that would enhance the experience even more but the location and setting more than make up for that! Highly recommended! I will return for sure! Thank you Mary Anne for a wonderful and relaxing getaway!

Loved the house and great accommodations! We dove at John Pennecamp and swam with the Dolphins. Had a great trip! Thank you Mari Ann!

This is a great place: the home, all the nice seats and beds to sit and lye outside, even a love seat, the veranda all around the house, waterfront so beautiful views, the kayaks, great beds for good sleeping. And a very luxurious house that feels like a home. The location is also superb, in a kind of nature reserve. The owner is very helpfull.

This past visit was our 2nd trip back to this lovely "cabin". We just love it. The cabin is so bright, comfortable, clean and inviting. After our 2nd day of settling in, I sent Mary Ann a message, I wanted to reserve the rental for next year. I just relax and am mesmerized by the view. We feel so comfortable and safe in the neighborhood, and my little dog seems to make so many friends on her walks.
We told family members back here in PA how much we loved it and this year--we had visitors from 2 families. They too enjoyed their stay. They made use of the kayaks, fishing poles and even the water shoes that were there.
Mary Ann is an excellent host. She goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is as wonderful as it can be. One example, I mentioned to her that I drank tea instead of coffee. I usually just heated water in the microwave but she went out and got us a new tea pot! I asked for a broom/mop to keep up with dirt during our 3 week stay and there it was. She did so many things while we were there, that I can't mention them all in the space allowed for a review. We were fortunate to get to meet Mary Ann in person this year and she is just as genuine as she seems on the phone and in her e-mails. So happy to have made her acquaintance.
There are so many restaurants in Key Largo and we try to visit as many as we can. Two of our favorites are almost next door--Shipwrecks and Buzzards Roost. Others to consider --Sharkeys (for an inexpensive meal); Mrs. Mac'c Kitchen ;Pilot House ;Snappers; Conch House and a restaurant in Islamorada, Hog Heaven. This one was so unique and must to visit.
Love Publix and the farmers markets for fresh fruits and vegetables. Coming from Pennsylvania in February, there is nothing like fresh produce.
This year we ventured into the ocean more. During low tide there is a shelf you can walk way out into the ocean. Saw different marine life, including a huge lobster! No I left him there in case you are wondering. I kept collecting sea shells and put them on the outside table and they would end back up in the water the next day. So, I told myself that if I had one that I found that didn't have an inhabitant, I would have a souvenir to take home. Bummer, everyday I would put one or two shells out, they would disappear, chuckle.
I hope to keep coming to Mary Ann's "little cabin in the woods." Thank you Mary Ann for everything. We are looking forward to your planned renovations!!

Everything was just perfect for our family! The cabin is not only in a dream location, but, it is appointed with every possible amenity. We appreciated the attentiveness of the owner to make our vacation enjoyable, secure, comfortable and delightful beyond compare. We had an abundance of water sports and activities available, but, we mostly enjoyed the ambiance of the outstanding deck where we gazed for hours at the ocean views and the amazing sunrises.
We are already planning our return vacation at the cabin!

This location has a nice front view only. The photos / ad are a little miss leading because this is not a "Private Secluded" cabin. There are many houses (rentals) in the area. It is in a secluded area in Key Largo north. It’s your average rental home, and bed is comfortable. That’s it! The neighbor next to us has an above ground pool with screaming kids the first 3 days. Every morning people are sitting on buckets fishing in your front yard. Many cars up and down the road (tourist) turning around in the driveway. As you know animals are in the woods. My biggest concern was the big rats that live in the palms. They will run across your feet at dark when grilling on the deck. They don’t seem to be afraid of people. Sat down on one of the chairs and it had a rats nest in it. If you are looking at a vacation home in the Key Largo, I would recommend another location. You can find something cheaper and more private with better fishing. I’ve been renting homes for over 30 years in the keys, first time not being happy with location. I pay extra $$$ to have privacy and felt mislead. Again don’t let these pictures fool you. Google earth will help you see it better.

What a view! Woke up every morning to take in the sunrise and just enjoy the panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean! Great amenities with the kayaks, canoes, grill and huge walk around porch area. The location at the top of the keys allowed to visit the entire chain each day. Snorkeling on the reefs of Key Largo, fishing the everglades, offshore fishing in Islamorada, the sunset in Key West and then return to the cabin were all different day trips we were able to do during our week. The owner provided us with great tips on restaurants, other attractions in the keys and all needed information and help with timely responses to any of our questions as we prepared for our trip. Can't say enough about it other than my family and I will be back.

Our family of five immensely enjoyed the accommodations of this property. The location was superior, in that it was very quiet, private, safe and secure. The morning sunrise views were captured numerous times with our camera and it was extremely peaceful to relax on the deck and enjoy the ocean's view. We had a lot of fun touring with the two kayaks on the property, and the canoes also allowed the entire family to get out at one time.
The amenities in the condo had everything the family needed for a week, to include preparing and serving meals for five. The deck furniture was very comfortable as we enjoyed laying in the sun, resting in the hammock, or swinging on the porch swing on the patio.
Mary Ann was especially helpful in advance of our trip, answered all of our questions during our stay and made herself available anytime we may have needed her. It turned out we didn't need any help while we were there, but it was reassuring to know she was a quick call or email away!
Our kids loved exploring the canal, walking the shores, and of course cruising in the kayaks.
We would highly recommend this property. If you're looking for a place to relax, unwind, turn off the devices and just enjoy the beauty of the Keys, this is the place to be!

This is a comfortable house in a beautiful location that is both private and convenient to many attractions. Our family enjoys nature and birding, and the house is located on the water which afforded both. There is a bird sanctuary nearby and the Everglades are an easy 45 minute away-we were able to go three times. (If you go, save your receipt-admission is good for a whole week.) We also chartered a fishing boat about 20 minutes away and had a fantastic time catching all kinds of fish in the beautiful turquoise waters. It was a bit cool while we were there in January so we didn't get to take advantage of John Pennekamp park, famous for it's snorkeling and diving, but it, too, is just a short drive away. There are good restaurants nearby, but if you prefer to cook, there are supermarkets down the road and a new grill on the deck. We also took a day trip to Key West which was about a two hour drive on the Overseas Highway.
The house is well-appointed and there are lots of "toys" including kayaks, snorkel gear and fishing poles; there are plenty of indoor toys, too, including games, tv's, movies and a stereo. There is a washer and a dryer, so there's no need to overpack. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cookware-so much so that we had to rearrange things to fit our food in the cupboard.
Mary Ann is a terrific host who responds right away to any questions or problems. We had trouble with the internet and she had a repair person there to install new equipment within a day. There were some minor issues with the oven not working and the sliding doors don't slide well, but overall the house is very clean, very comfortable and nicely decorated. Best of all, the wrap-around deck and the view can't be beat! Be sure to keep an eye out for the big parrot fish in the canal.
I highly recommend this house and wouldn't hesitate to rent it again should we return to Key Largo in the future.
