We loved the yurt. It was so lovely and peaceful and had everything we needed. Close to Harrisonburg and great hiking trails. Beautifully decorated, comfortable, and the sound of the rain on the yurt was sublime.

This Yurt is great. Modern bath and kitchen. Comfortable bed. The view from the deck was as advertised. The pool in the river was very serene and way more private than expected and the water refreshing after a hot day. The host was very responsive to general questions. If you are driving from WVa on highway 33 you might write down the directions since GPS is spotting as you approach from the WVa mountains.

Place was amazing. I go up there every year to fly fish and found this property on VRBO. It exceeded my expectations in every way. Plus the fishing was great for native brook trout right out the back door. Owner provided everything you needed plus more. Bed was very comfortable after fishing every day for 12 hours straight. It will be my go to place from here on out.

We absolutely loved our stay at the yurt! It was so private, quiet, and peaceful while being close enough to town that we could visit for a late lunch/early dinner. It had everything we needed. Marcy is an amazing host, and promptly answered every message! We look forward to returning in the fall (and hopefully earlier!)!

My husband and I visited our son at JMU and chose to try the Yurt life. We were both pleasantly surprised at the comfortable getaway this retreat offered! Beautiful location and just under 20 minutes from campus. Would definitely stay again!

My family of four had such an amazing stay! Hikes in the morning to the sound of babbling creeks (dry river isn’t actually dry). The quaint yurt had all the provisions you could need to stay comfortably and there was a little magical feeling to it. I would still be there now if we didn’t have to get back to reality. Definitely recommend this place and would go back in a heartbeat!

Property was well-equipped, clean, warm, and generally nicer that I expected. Hinton is not much, but there’s plenty of walking, fishing, and exploring to be done around the property. It is not very isolated as there is some road noise and many other cabins and homes in the immediate area. The larger of the two streams holds native brook trout, which was a pleasant surprise. The scenery is beautiful, especially the clarity of the stars at night. Very nice experience.

I enjoyed the seclusion near some old stomping grounds of my husband. Truly ment a lot to us!
