We were really taken by the landscape and how big the property is. It’s not massive but big enough that you’re really surprised by the size. There are some really cute little places to sit and relax with views of the pond and there’s a hammock amongst the large trees.
The master suite is really pleasant. Love taking a bath with a view. The kitchen, dining and sunroom are a fun place to hang out.
We arrived during Fourth of July, and it was quite warm here. I don’t think this place is really meant for summertime getaways as there is no air conditioning, and although having numerous windows that can be open, only one of them has a screen. We didn’t have any real issues with insects at least in the first two days, but that might’ve been due to sufficient wind. I could imagine this place being a really lovely winter getaway, but I would think twice to come back in the summer.
Lastly, although the kitchen is nice to work in, there were some quirks that we struggled with:
- We couldn’t figure out how to operate the fan on the stove.
- The electrical outlets were underneath the counter and did not appear to be robust enough for something like a toaster.
- The knives were quite dull and not very helpful.
- Compost and recycle instructions were unclear, even though there are compost and recycle bins on the property.
- There were some minor kitchen utensils that we couldn’t find like a wine bottle opener.
Overall, we would definitely recommend this place.
