About this house rental
Welcome to the Perch! Four friends created this little hideaway just outside Tenants Harbor in St. George, Maine. The house is set back off States Point Road and at the corner of Rt 131 for easy access to local amenities. Large windows and tall ceilings fill this brand-new build with light and views of the woods at Briney Point. One bedroom + a queen bed, a fold out couch and one and a half baths can comfortably accommodate four people. Note for tall folks - the bed is tucked into the slope of the ceiling :) Brand new appliances and ample space make for delightful meals or just coffee and reading as the morning light filters in from the east. State of the art windows and insulation keep this space warm in the winters and cool in the summers with radiant heat. No AC, but fans on site for your use! Storage loft, large garage, and many the things you might need on site to enjoy the area. Water access is about 3 minutes from the house on a trail through the property - at high tide, put the kayak or canoe in the water to explore Seavey Cove. Great for couples and small families, the Perch is animal friendly, so please bring your furry family members!
Accessibility
This is a one bedroom living area that is on the second floor of the building. There is a set of 18 wide, sturdy stairs up to the main area with a continuous handrail. Guests will need to be comfortable with steps to access property.
Wifi/Cell Service
We find that AT&T customers will not have cell service on the property - you will lose service about 10 minutes out on Route 131. T-Mobile and Verizon has some limited service. Other carriers we are unsure of coverage. We suggest you set up Wifi Calling with your cell provider or utilize a google voice # to make calls if needed. We DO have wifi - speeds of 200+ Mbps mean you can take video calls, stream movies and music, etc.
What Should I Bring?
In Maine, we would always recommend a rain coat, some hiking shoes or boots that can get wet, and some slip on shoes or slippers for around the house. In most of the warm months there will be one type of a insect or another to bother you; bug spray is recommended! If you plan to get in the water, bring water shoes. The rocks can be slick and the cove is muddy!
About the Area
Tenants Harbor is a small town on the St. George peninsula - ideally situated about 25 minutes from Rockland and the town's art museums, restaurants, and shopping. Further up the coast are Camden and Rockport, within easy driving distance. Travel 15 minutes down the peninsula and you will be in Port Clyde, with ferry options, and of course excellent dining, coffee and more.
A Note About the House:
Our house was completed in summer 2023. We are excited to share our place with friends, family and you! Because this was recently built, the landscaping for the property is still very much in progress. We are looking forward to populating our property with native perennials and plan to make continuing additions in the coming years.
Please note that there are exterior cameras on the property.

The apartment was beautiful; well equipped, bright, looking into the trees, and modern design. No little folksy bric brac often seen in Maine cabins. Modern kitchen with all that is needed. Comfortable bed. An easy and enjoyable stay. And when a mishap occurred Abby addressed it directly. I recommend the Perch fully. A fine stay in a beautiful area.

We had a wonderful stay at The Perch! It’s a beautiful spot and had everything we needed for us and our doggo:) Beautiful finishing touches - they did a great job building this spot, I would absolutely come back!

My cousin and I, and my dog, spent 3 days at The Perch and we could not have asked for a better experience. The location was remote enough to feel secluded but also not far from Rockland, which was great for a nice lunch and some shopping. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to cook and the bed was unbelievably comfy - we slept like logs! The cozy touches in the bathroom and the living room set the perfect relaxing mood. We had a blast exploring the woods behind the house, walking all the way down to the water and back a few times. Also wanted to call out the radiant flooring in the main room - an absolute game changer for a chilly winter getaway. Thanks for a great stay! We'll be back as soon as we can.

House was perfect for our stay of two kids and two adults. House was equipped with all that you need. There is one bedroom, pull out couch and if need be a blow up mattress. The space although small is functional and well thought out. Great location. Communication with host was great and can’t wait to come

The Perch is well equipped and brand new. The bed was really comfortable and it has a great shower. The underfloor heating with an individual thermostat in each room makes it an ideal rental for a winter getaway.
Being up on the second floor among the trees was a special treat.

My sister and her friend stayed here while in the area, it was a bit tight for three people but the kitchen was spacious and the overall layout was a great use of space. There were large Windows to let in as much light as possible, and the entire place was very clean. Definitely would stay here again and recommend to family and friends!

This was a perfect little getaway for my family to see some of Maine. The house was cute, cozy and clean. Everything you need is provided. When we arrived the keypad didn’t work for us to enter but a quick text to Abby and problem solved! Abby was very nice to communicate with. I would def recommend staying here! We also enjoyed Home Kitchen Cafe for breakfast… delicious!

My family and I had the most wonderful time at this property! The house itself was cozy, tranquil, and thoughtfully designed. The managers thought of everything a renter might need, even how to make the furry guests feel at home. Their communication was outstanding, and renting from them was a true pleasure. We would recommend this property and will certainly be booking it again!

We needed a last-minute place to stay on the peninsula and found the Perch which is conveniently located just above Tenant's Harbor. It's nestled in an odd lot but don't let that fool you. It's a great location to explore the peninsula and easy access to the cities of Thomaston/ Rockland. Best of both worlds! Even better, it is comfortable, clean, and efficient with lots of amenities. Everything was thoughtfully built and designed. The hosts provide lots of conveniences such as a well-stocked kitchen, a washer and dryer, and lots of pet perks if you bring your four-legged family members. They were very easy to communicate with and incredibly friendly and helpful every step of the way! This is a new construction and it appeared to us that they are still fine-tuning the landscaping and other details, so I expect a wonderful experience to only get better!

This house is beautifully built and conveniently located. The layout is thoughtfully planned and well used with a stocked kitchen with everything you'll need. You do have to be careful in the bedroom of the slanted roof. Husband hit his head a few times getting into his side of the bed.
We visited on a very warm week and loved that we could open almost every window easily. Unfortunately there was almost no breeze out. We utilized the AC however it doesn't reach well into the bedroom. We used both fans available for the bedroom to keep it cooler so we could sleep. The house is secluded however we did hear some road noise since all the windows were open. Nothing that will keep you up at night if you're used to it. We did notice a few balls of dog hair in the house but they were easily picked up and we did let the host know. Hosts respond immediately for anything needed, even later at night when I didn't know how to use the Apple TV. Suggest leaving some directions on how to use that in the house instructions.
We absolutely loved the back "porch" and the solo stove with the chairs and outdoor lights. Was great for roasting marshmallows!!! Appreciated that someone left a few in the freezer!
We have T-Mobile and service does cut out about 3ish miles from the house. House has strong wifi that you can connect to and use wifi calling.
We would stay again!
